[03:52] there really isnt anymore [03:52] LaTeX is just the modern version of TeX really [03:52] ahh [03:54] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TeX [04:03] Anyone know of a simple MTU optimizer tool for Windowz? [04:08] MTU? [04:09] Maximum Transmission Unit [04:09] It's something you rarely have to deal with. [04:10] It's how big a packet can be. [04:10] ahh [04:10] ive never messed with networking stuff in windows >.< [04:10] If the packets are too big for the network to handle, each packet gets split, and thus decreases the performance [04:10] i understand that [04:11] I think you only really deal with it with dial-up or GPRS connections or something [04:11] and when you don't have a router or something that can't automatically just detect the MTU from the device before it. [04:11] yeah [04:12] There's "FINALLY FAST!" that basically just changes the MTU value; but very misadvertised and almost scandalistic and bloated in a way [04:13] lol [04:13] It's commercial that has a Mac BSoDing. :P [04:13] yeah iknow [04:13] i actually found a good blog post awhile back about the registery hacks it does [04:14] I'd be curious of reading such. [04:14] The company also has a terrible rating on Web of Trust for any of their products. [04:15] lol [04:16] Someone was just asking me if the product was fine (few minutes ago) [04:17] i hope you game them the warning its more damaging then good? [04:17] omg i HATE this router!!! [04:17] Pretty much [04:17] http://alphacluster.wordpress.com/2009/02/05/finallyfast-actually-shown-to-do-nothing/ [04:20] Tweak your link on the page, as it goes down to the comments part of the page (just remove anything after the ampersand) [04:21] oh thanks whoops its been like that sense February >.< [04:22] fixed :) and thanks again :) === MJ94_ is now known as MJ94
