=== kirkland` is now known as kirkland [10:54] hrm, the ubiquity drop_privileges trick doesn't work with ibus, it seems [11:59] cjwatson, superm1: ubiquity is firing up today :) [12:00] good [12:02] cjwatson: I'm seeing a bit of a glitch from screen 2->3 language screen -> location screen. ubiquity flashes the same screen is in place and then becomes the next page. [12:19] cjwatson: Yay installed :) [12:28] os-prober: evand * r237 ubuntu/ (18 files in 7 dirs): Merge from debian 1.35 [12:32] oh damn. It appears I'm woefully out of date here. [12:33] cjwatson: did you intentionally drop the umount retry delta in os-prober? [12:35] ev: yes, the private mount namespace stuff in 1.31 made it unnecessary [12:35] then damn again. Shall I just leave this as-is, since the branch is effectively dead? [12:50] fine by me ... === mcasadevall is now known as NCommander === robbiew1 is now known as robbiew [16:48] <_ruben> hmm .. network install of karmic onto 2 md's (md0: /boot, md1: lvm) results in broken system [16:48] <_ruben> it claims to be waiting for /dev/md0 and offers recovery shell .. /dev/md0 is present just fine in the recovery shell [16:53] <_ruben> will try to troubleshoot some more tomorrow (when im back at its console again) [18:11] hi, does anyone know how to install the alternative cd with a pen drive? no cd-rom [18:13] >:o [18:14] anyone? help? [18:18] Probably be better to ask that in #ubuntu [18:19] or search in https://help.ubuntu.com/ for a wiki article [18:19] all right, thanks a lot [18:19] ;) === mcasadevall is now known as NCommander [23:32] I just finished putting togther a new box - however, I left my keyboard, cd drive, linux boot flashdrive at home. I have my intel macbook w/ Mac OS X, a monitor, usb mouse, blank usb flash drive. Is it possible to make a usb installation for Ubuntu, if so, can I make it on a Mac? Also, does Ubuntu have kickstart like Red Hat?
