possyHello16:16
superm1!hi16:16
ZinnHi $nick, how are you?  Something we can help you with today?16:16
possyis there a script to import a channel.conf into MythTV, or do I need to use mythtv-setup?16:17
superm1mythtv-setup is the only way that i'm aware of16:17
possyok.16:17
possythx - I will hang out a bit, maybe someone else some pointers.16:17
rhpot1991can anyone check their  /var/lib/mythtv/db_backups and see if there is anything in it?18:23
mrandrhpot1991: On my 9.04 system (upgraded along the way.  started from 7.10), it is empty.  backups go to the recording directory.  I seem to recall that a fresh 9.10 install does use db_backups, but I wouldn't put tgm4883's life on it.  I can check tonight.19:14
rhpot1991mrand: we already found out they go to /var/backups19:15
mrandrhpot1991: hm.  so they do.  I guess it is when you manually run it, it tends to go to the recordings directory, maybe.  Learn something new everyday.19:20
thafreakI'm about to upgrade to 9.10, and I was wondering about something19:30
thafreakI typically point my myth tv backend at a db server other than the one on the box...19:30
thafreakIs there an easy way to do that?19:30
thafreakIt's always been a pain for me...19:31
thafreakjust curious if there's an easier way to do it...i may just skip doing it this time and backup the db instead19:33
tgm4883mrand!21:44
gizmobaywhy kick tgm4883, he's allright21:47
tgm4883yea I'm alright21:47
CShadowRuni'm alleft21:48
mrandI'm center21:48
CShadowRunnice.21:48
gizmobayi'm top21:48
tgm4883sweet21:48
tgm4883now we just need a subwolfer and some surrounds21:48
* mrand isn't big enough to be the subwoofer21:49
mrandAlthough my burps have won me awards.21:49
tgm4883thats what she said21:49
gizmobaydoes svn download the same file twice?21:51
mrandsvn: Unknown command: 'download'21:51
gizmobayyou use svn to get the latest revision of say mythtv21:52
gizmobayso it gets or downloads the files21:52
mrandright.21:53
gizmobayI did an svn on xbmc and then I deleted it and it freed up like 1 GB21:53
mrandwhen you do an "svn update", it only downloads the files it needs (the ones that have changed or been added)21:53
mrandmaybe stuff (cache or something?) in the .svn directory?21:54
gizmobayprobably21:54
gizmobayMy / partition was almost full21:54
tgm4883speaking of xbmc, who here uses it?21:54
tgm4883rather21:55
gizmobayI use boxee21:55
tgm4883who here uses it with their mythtv backend21:55
tgm4883gizmobay, do you use it with your backend?21:55
gizmobaydon't use with BE though21:55
tgm4883ah21:55
gizmobayjust got a menu choice to a script that kills the FE and starts boxee21:55
tgm4883I'll be writing an MCC plugin for 3rd party frontends21:56
gizmobaylike boxee?21:56
tgm4883first it will support just XBMC, I don't suppose adding boxee is too much of a problem, although the added login that is required could cause some issues21:57
gizmobaythe latest rev login auto21:57
gizmobaytoo bad I couldn't get the rev to work under 9.10 64 bit21:58
tgm4883gizmobay, I haven't done much with boxee lately, I would need to be able to access a repo for it, which could cause some problems21:58
gizmobayyeah, they don't even have a repo for the new rev just dl a deb file21:59
gizmobaythought about compiling. Wholly s**t, boxee makes myth look like a walk in the park for compiling22:00
tgm4883it doesn't help that you have to login to their website to download it22:00
gizmobayyeah true, I'd send to you but the file is like 90MB22:01
tgm4883oh i have an account and have downloaded the file, but i'm not distributing that file in an MCC plugin22:01
gizmobayahh, I see your point22:02
gizmobaymake sense22:02
tgm4883I think once I add the xbmc support it would be easy enough to add additional support for other plugins22:02
tgm4883err, frontneds22:02
tgm4883so if they ever do go back to repos, i'll add it22:02
gizmobaythey have some good features. Never really figured out the difference between boxee and xbmc22:03
tgm4883gizmobay, social networking22:03
gizmobayaww, that's right22:03
tgm4883alright, back to the coal mines22:04
gizmobayyou at work?22:05
tgm4883yep22:05
gizmobayme too22:05
gizmobaywork out of the home though22:05
tgm4883I wish22:06
ahughesnot that I have my myth box with me right now... but what can I use as a UnPnP AV client on the myth box? I have stuff on a server in another room. My ps3 can operate as a UnPnP AV client and stream stuff from the server... I want myth to do the same.23:06
tgm4883ahughes, mythfrontend is a upnp client23:07
tgm4883if it doesn't have settings for a backend that is23:07
ahughesI installed both front and backend.23:30
ahughesI guess there is some doco somewhere for this...23:30
