dhillon-v10mdke, are you around ?00:59
j1mcjjesse: 'morning :)14:29
j1mcmdke: do you have some free time for some questions?14:30
j1mcmdke: it looks like, if i were to adapt ubuntu docs to xubuntu docs, the xsl file that i would most need to be concerned with is the ubuntu-html-single-cust.xsl file14:35
j1mcit looks like that outputs the docs to the html pages14:36
j1mci see where the docs there point to a css file that we would want to change for xubuntu.14:38
j1mcmdke: ... correction, i think i should use the *ubuntu-html-chunk-cust.xsl* file.14:45
swoodywhat's the preferred way to mark wiki pages for deletion?18:57
swoodyah, I think I found it...19:00
swoody<<Include(Tag/Deletion)>>19:00
dhillon-v10swoody, ask starcraftman if he's around to delete them19:00
swoodyis that correct/preferred?19:00
swoodydhillon-v10: oh I can bother starcraftman >:d19:00
swoody>:D*19:00
starcraftmanswoody: only if you've a food offering!19:00
dhillon-v10swoody yup that's what I do most of the time19:00
dhillon-v10starcraftman, hi what's up19:00
swoodystarcraftman: I didn't make it to the Chicago Loco doc jam today, so I have a load of cookies here ;)19:01
starcraftmanswoody: COOKIES!19:01
swoody:D19:01
starcraftmanNow, you just need to invent a transporter swoody19:01
swoodySwoody's Famous Cookies... of DOOM!!19:01
swoodystarcraftman: yeah, that's in Aplha right now. The mouse test... well... it wasn't successful :(19:02
starcraftmanswoody: cookies of doom don't sound very tasty.19:02
starcraftmanso what's wrong with pages? And yes, that is the delete tag, adds it to the cue.19:02
swoodystarcraftman: just cleaning up the Chicago Wiki pages today :)19:03
swoodylike I said, Doc Jam @ Chicago Loco as we speak :)19:03
starcraftmanswoody: and need pages deleted?19:04
starcraftmanNot gonna use em later?19:04
swoodystarcraftman: probably not, we're trying to move some of our topics from unused wiki pages to the ML19:04
dhillon-v10starcraftman, a user can delete the community wiki pages right19:04
starcraftmanswoody: we talking with wiki.ubuntu.com pages?19:05
swoodystarcraftman: yep :)19:05
starcraftmandhillon-v10: no, help.ubuntu.com/community pages can only be deleted/renamed by admins, like me.19:05
dhillon-v10starcraftman, :) admins19:05
starcraftmanswoody: oh alright, you can do it yourself then.19:05
swoodystarcraftman: how do I do that? :o19:06
starcraftmanswoody: You don't know how the secret power? 5 cookie entry fee.19:06
* swoody shoves 5 cookies into an envelope, and labels it 'To: The great North' :)19:07
starcraftmanlol19:07
starcraftmanTop of a Page, More action > Move Rename Delete a page. Pick right option.19:07
swoodylol, I just found that :)19:07
starcraftmanAnd NOTE! You must delink all links to a page prior to moves please.19:08
starcraftmanElse, dead links.19:08
swoodystarcraftman: in the process of overhauling wiki, so links will be changed, too :)19:08
swoodythanks for the help :)19:08
starcraftmanswoody: ok19:08
mdkej1mc: yes, it's the chunk xsl file21:10
j1mcmdke: thanks21:10
mdkej1mc: I'm around now if you have some more questions21:10
j1mcmdke: thanks - basically, what i was intending to do was to branch ubuntu docs, remove the .bzr file, do some initial changes, and then copy those files into xubuntu-docs21:12
j1mci would then do a bzr-add on the xubuntu-docs repo21:12
j1mci can do this because all of the ubuntu-docs are in a "desktop guide" folder21:12
j1mcsorry... s/ubuntu-docs/xubuntu-docs21:13
j1mci tried doing a bzr merge lp:ubuntu-docs into xubuntu-docs21:13
j1mcbut i ended up with 1440 conflicts21:14
mdkehah21:14
mdkej1mc: isn't it cleaner to just branch ubuntu-docs and keep the history, then make whatever changes you need to?21:14
mdkethat way the revision history is still there, I feel it might be easier to merge other changes back and forward in the future that way21:14
j1mcmdke: that would work, too... how would i create the new branch up on the xubuntu-docs repo?21:15
mdkej1mc: probably the easiest way would be to delete the existing lp:xubuntu-docs/lucid branch (which I think is identical to lp:xubuntu-docs/karmic and then replace it with the new one21:17
mdkeor if you're not comfortable in doing that yet, push it up with a different name for now21:17
j1mcmdke: i'd rather push it up with another name for now21:18
mdkefine21:18
j1mcmdke: cool - thanks21:19
mdkej1mc: np, let me know how it goes21:29
j1mcmdke: thanks again.  it looks like i've got things set up in a good place21:30
mdkeI'll be happy to help with the packaging: would be good to keep things closer to ubuntu-docs21:32
j1mcmdke: i agree - thanks for your help21:45
mdkephil's mallard mockup is quite cool21:49
dhillon-v10mdke, hi :) how is it going21:50
j1mcmdke: he has ported ubuntu-docs to mallard?21:50
j1mcmdke: shaunm has revised the site at http://projectmallard.org - the site is written in mallard.21:51
dhillon-v10j1mc, hi :)21:51
j1mchey dhillon-v1021:52
dhillon-v10j1mc, I am working on some mockups too as we decided on that meeting, shaunm send me some really cool templates21:52
mdkej1mc: no, it's just a mockup at present I think21:59
mdkej1mc: but his idea is to port the whole thing22:00
dhillon-v10mdke, can you give me a link to that mockup22:02
mdkedhillon-v10: it's the second link here: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-doc/2010-January/014184.html22:03
dhillon-v10mdke, thanks a lot :)22:03
