kermiacI was just going to grab the hardy 8.04.4 point release images & I noticed none of the links at http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com are working09:10
kermiacwhat iso are we using to test hardy .4?09:11
davmor2kermiac: http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/hardy/  click on daily or daily-live then current09:15
kermiacty davmor209:17
kermiaci see no testcases completed in iso tracker for hardy .4, is that correct? just wondering which image to d/l first to start testing09:19
davmor2kermiac: what ever you want I'd go with live for now though09:26
kermiacdavmor2: yeah, I'm d/l i386 live atm09:27
kermiacty davmor209:27
davmor2kermiac: np's09:28
arakermiac, please, set the test as started in the tracker when you start, please09:33
kermiacara: will do09:35
arakermiac, ta!09:35
kermiacstill waiting for iso to d/l cdimage.ubuntu.com seems a bit slow atm09:35
kermiaconly getting around 380KB/s09:36
kermiacstill got 16.5 mins left for i386 iso09:36
kermiacnp'd ara09:37
kermiacnp's, even :)09:37
davmor2kermiac: see if there is a local mirror it might go faster for you09:37
* kermiac checks for local mirror09:38
kermiacumm...is there a list of mirrors?09:39
davmor2kermiac: what the country code for australia?  then just try http://countrycode.cdimages.ubuntu.com/hardy/  for example http://us.cdimages.ubuntu.com/hardy/  is the one in the usa just try it in a web browser09:41
* ara takes a break09:42
kermiacdavmor2: usually au09:42
davmor2kermiac: so try http://au.cdimages.ubuntu.com/hardy/09:43
kermiaci'll see if i can get any extra speed from using http://au.cdimages.ubuntu.com/hardy/ as soon as the i386 image is finished - still got 9.5 mins09:43
kermiacty davmor209:44
davmor2kermiac: the only thing to look at if you use a local mirror is that you download the correct iso as listed on the tracker as your mirror might out.  other than that should be fine09:45
kermiacok davmor2, checking the md5 should verify that right?09:46
davmor2kermiac: no the quickest test is to check the date.version number on the tracker against the local mirror.  eg 20100121.2 was the last one yesterday so you would just go in the browser and check that, that was the version on the mirror and then download it.  If not then use the standard cdimages instead of the mirror.09:49
kermiacok ,ty davmor2 :)09:49
kermiacsame speed when trying to use http://au.cdimages.ubuntu.com/hardy/10:09
kermiaclooks like there's no au mirror :(10:09
davmor2kermiac: :( worth a try10:18
kermiacyup10:19
kermiacoh well, guess i'll only test i386 for now10:19
* kermiac is calling it for tonight10:40
kermiacnight all, time to watch some tv before bed10:41
arakermiac, night!11:45

* cr3 is eating a bowl of cereal and wonders how it could be tested13:34
davmor2cr3: I'm just that damn good ;)  that would be the taste, fluid to solid content, sweetness and fibrous content the last of which you'll need to wait at least half a day for :D14:08
davmor2right now that's out the way to testing14:44

moustafafader_, cr3: baguette!18:54
slangasekfader_, ara: looks like there's a long way to go on iso testing for 8.04.4; are we expecting this to ramp up Monday?18:55
fader_slangasek: I'm unlikely to have bandwidth to do much of the ISO testing as I'm having to do a lot manually to get the cert testing done for 8.04.4 :(18:56
* slangasek nods18:57
slangasekfader_: was more wondering if you knew what the status was, seeing as you're QA team and ara is probably after-hours :)18:57
fader_slangasek: I don't know what the status is, sorry... I will shoot an email to the QA mailing list and request some extra help on this though18:58
slangasekok19:00
slangasekI did email the QA list already, but I think my request is still stuck in the moderation queue19:00
fader_slangasek: Ah, okay... in that case me emailing as well would probably not help too much, as I'd also be stuck there until ara sees it anyway19:01
fader_moustafa: Hey, sorry -- missed your hello :)19:01
slangasekfader_: ah, heh; does the list not allow posts by subscribers?19:03
fader_slangasek: Not sure actually; I had just assumed you were a subscriber :)19:03
slangaseknope19:03
fader_Okay, then I'll change my mind again and send out the email... worth a shot19:04
fader_Sent.19:09
slangaseklooks like ara did send out a mail, as well19:09
fader_Yes, I just followed up to hers19:10
Akoshi everyone20:37
Akosare the daily-live .iso's broken for the past 2 days?20:38
Akosi can't seem to get them started in virtual machines20:38
fader_Akos: I was okay yesterday on real hardware20:43
fader_Akos: I assume you checked the MD5 of the image already?20:43
fader_slangasek: http://people.canonical.com/~fader/sru-testing/8.04.4.html has some preliminary results up (basically the servers in the London DC); more results and better formatting to follow, probably Monday afternoonish20:44
fader_Though if things go very well I might have more today :)20:44
slangasekfader_: ok, thanks20:44
slangasekAkos: broken in a different way than how alpha-2 is broken on virtual machines (boot splash doesn't work)?20:45
Akosfader_: i zsynched them20:50
Akosslangasek: just simply it doesn't boot, so i can't install or get in the live cd mode20:50
Akosall i see is '_' on the top of the screen20:50
slangasekAkos: did alpha-2 work for you?20:51
Akosslangasek: i didn't try, but i'll download it now20:51
slangasekAkos: quicker test: try taking the 'splash' option off the kernel commandline when booting20:51
Akosslangasek: when booting of the CD?20:53
slangasekyes20:53
Akosi'll try too, not sure if i can20:53
Akosokay, done20:54
Akosi took out only splash out20:54
Akosshould i take out 'quiet splash --' or just 'splash' ?20:54
Akosokay, taking quiet splash -- out started something20:55
Akoshttp://akos.me/lucid.png20:57
Akosthis is where it halted for some time20:57
Akoshttp://akos.me/lucid1.png this is what has changed, nothing going on for minutes now21:01
