Roxyhart0Hi, i am trying to add schema in openldap and i got this error: ldap_add: Server is unwilling to perform (53)06:16
Roxyhart0        additional info: no global superior knowledge06:16
Roxyhart0any idea?06:16
jmarsdenRoxyhart0: check your syntax really carefully, both of the command and the schema data.  I think that means you are trying to add stuff outside the chunk of LDAP space your sevrer is configured to use, and it does not know how to contact LDAP servers higher up the LDAP namespace hierarchy to add it there.06:18
jmarsdenMost likely you just made a mistake in your command or your schema data file, but that's a guess.06:18
Roxyhart0my command is:  ldapadd -x -D cn=admin,cn=config -W -f /tmp/ldif_output/cn\=config/cn\=schema/cn\=\{8\}misc.ldif06:19
Roxyhart0well i think i got the error...thanks a lot!06:20

jussi01Could anyone give me some help with creating a shared calendar solution on an ubuntu server? we already have mailserver, fileserver and svn setup, but I need to implement a shared calendar, accessable from thunderbird, (windows and linux), evolution and kmail.08:14
stanley__hi, I'm a noob, Is it possible to run apache as <user> instead of www?08:16
jussi01stanley__: may I ask why you are trying to do that? what is it you are trying to acheive?08:17
stanley__i wanna run a joomla! for testing and template modifications before i put it online and if all my files are owned by <user> then there is a permissions issue when php/apache tries to access and modify files08:19
stanley__i got around it for a while by using midnight commander as root and copying all my files to /var/www/ with mc08:20

as1965If all apache needs is to read/display html, only read access is needed.08:50

stickystyleNever come across this before, is it valid to have a zone file that has a contact email that has a dot in it before the '@'?  i.e. some.user.example.com13:40
ivoksthat's the general rule13:41
ivoksusername.domain.com13:41
stickystyleyeah, I know that's how you do it. but can you have the extra dot in username?13:42
ivokswhy not?13:42
* stickystyle shrug13:42
stickystylenot sure.  searched around to see if that was a valid thing to do but didn't find anything13:43
ivoksi do see what could be an issue, but don't know exactly if that's not allowed13:43
stickystylejust never done it before13:43
cyphermoxstickystyle, you should try it to see. usually though, it's just hostmaster.domain.com or something similar, which is handled as an alias for another account at the mail server level13:45
cyphermoxi'd expect it works though, and just considers domain.com as the domain, since it's already defined as the zone is loaded... keeping it an alias has an advantage though: it's easier to change what it points to than to change the email in the zone SOA record if somebody else should receive that mail13:48
stickystyleHum, passes with named-checkconf.  Just wanted to see if anyone else had done this as it's a production server, let's see what happens....13:50
cyphermoxstickystyle, maybe run a dns check on it... say http://www.checkdns.net/quickcheckdomainf.aspx13:53
stickystyleAnd....no named errors, server still returns queries for that zone (private zone so no web based checking tools).   I guess that's a little bit named trivia that everyone gained today :)13:55
cyphermoxstickystyle, indeed. right now, I certainly can't think of an use for this field anyway... except maybe for the registrar?13:56
stickystyleyeah, not really sure why it would be used registrar wouldn't even come into play as it's not public. but if I get a ticket to change it, then I do.13:57
