RAOFbryceh: For future reference, my surname is “Halse Rogers”.  This causes no end of fun!00:48
RAOFbryceh: Are you waiting for anything before uploading x11-common with the fixed apport hooks?01:51
radoeHello, sorry for asking again, but may someone have a look at bug 402260? I already have a fix, a debdiff and a ack from ubuntu-sru for the SRU in karmic. What to do next?07:34
ubottuLaunchpad bug 402260 in xorg-server "[Needs SRU] segfault when running Xdmx" [Undecided,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/40226007:34
RAOFExcellent.  This weekend I'll pick up a netbook with switchable nvidia ION/intel graphics.  All sorts of testing possibilities!09:55
tseliotara: can you still reproduce the problem with suspend/resume with nvidia?10:40
tseliot(with an updated lucid system)10:40
aratseliot, let me update and I will get back to you10:42
tseliotthanks10:42
aratseliot, around?11:31
tseliotara: yep11:31
aratseliot, I tried on Lucid, it is better than before, but still buggy11:31
tseliotara: can you define "buggy" please?11:31
tseliotso that I can tell Nvidia about it11:32
aratseliot, when it wakes up from suspend, the X does not come back. If you switch to another tty, and then back to tty7, it comes back, but there are some rendering issues11:32
aratseliot, I will get a screenshot11:32
tseliotara: great, thanks11:33
tjaaltonthere's a bug about that11:34
tjaaltonhappened to me too11:35
tjaaltonbug 52813811:35
ubottuLaunchpad bug 528138 in nvidia-graphics-drivers "garbage on screen after suspend" [Medium,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/52813811:35
tselioteven better11:35
tseliotara ^^11:35
aratjaalton, great11:36
aratjaalton, do you have to switch ttys before getting anything?11:36
tjaaltonara: yes11:36
tjaaltonnow running nouveau though, seems solid so far11:37
aratjaalton, :)11:37
tjaaltonI had some weird problem with the user switcher though, but it only happened once11:37
tjaaltonthe new server failed to open drm11:37
Sarvattvish: it was the whole pbuffer vs fbo thing, looks like fabounet already talked to them over the weekend14:05
SarvattNg: 127c means the sensor isnt returning a value usually, i doubt it was actually at 127c (i know that doesn't help your problem)14:11
NgSarvatt: even if 127 is the value for the first thermal zone's trip point?14:12
NgTHM1 has some complex configuration of things around 101-105 I don't immediately understand, but THM0 is 12714:12
NgI'm prepared to believe that's some kind of weird misreading though14:12
Sarvatt127=null yeah14:13
Sarvattwhat kind of cpu is it?14:13
Sarvattmaybe the module (like k8temp if amd64) has problems after resume or something14:13
Sarvatti'm positive it returns 127c if it cant get an actual temp though (like if you query it too fast), had that problem on my machines for many many years and its a bios thing not a linux problem.. the machine should shut off way before 127c since that'd kill the cpu14:21
Sarvattapw: the backport -14 kernel of yours that I tried a few weeks ago hated my intel machine, got 2 gpu hangs after resume that dont happen with mainline kernels for some strange reason. do you have any newer ones to test out?14:57
tseliotsuperm1: any ideas on what's going on here? http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/387063/15:51
Sarvattdh_shlibdeps -l`pwd` -- is that even allowed?15:53
tseliotSarvatt: the code was already there, I only added -l`pwd`/debian/fglrx/usr/lib32/fglrx15:53
apwSarvatt, there is a -15 in my red ppa15:54
tseliotit should be the same as $(CURDIR) I guess15:55
tseliotSarvatt, superm1: same result with $(CURDIR): http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/387072/15:59
tjaaltonthere's hardly any need to run dpkg-shlibdeps, right?16:05
tseliotwe have Depends: ${shlibs:Depends} in the control file16:08
tseliotbut I did something stupid16:08
tseliotas I should have done dh_shlibdeps -l$(CURDIR)/debian/fglrx/usr/lib/fglrx:$(CURDIR)/debian/fglrx/usr/lib32/fglrx16:09
tseliotit works now16:09
superm1tseliot, cool, so it's solved now :)16:20
tseliotsuperm1: yep, I've just committed the fix. I'll tell Felix about it16:20
