drmacroanybody around?00:57
pteagueer, um... ok - http://pastebin.com/SUnLaMCP ...  unable to find any value for drive_total_total or drive_total_used ?02:57
innatechhas anyone had experience configuring a 4-output serial port IR blaster with lircd for myth? I've been trying to read the docs and mailing lists but my head is swimming.02:59
innatechpteague -- does df return usable output?03:01
innatechpteague -- i.e. "df -m -c /dev/yourharddrivehere"03:01
innatechpteague -- make that "df -m --total /dev/yourharddrivehere"03:02
pteagueyes, i think i realized what the problem was... for some reason since updating from hardy -> intrepid -> jaunty -> koala the original directories are now owned by mysql:mysql ... wtf??03:03
pteagueum... not sure because now i'm still getting the errors... let me run your commands03:04
pteaguehttp://pastebin.com/ZA4Y5u5i03:04
innatechlooks fairly normal to me.03:06
innatechI don't have anything called mythtv-status on my Karmic install, btw.03:09
pteagueit's just odd because it recorded 2 shows just fine the other day within an hour of finishing the update to koala... & i don't remember changing permissions on them since then... let me check what i did with samba03:09
pteaguenope, those are right... so i didn't screw with it on that shell script03:11
innatechdoes it work from a root shell?03:11
pteaguedo `aptitude show mythtv-status` ;)03:11
pteaguehaven't tried that, let me see03:12
pteaguenope, same issue running mythtv-status as root03:12
innatechlet me see if it works as installed on my box.03:12
innatechthrows me the same error.03:13
innatechmythtv-status03:13
innatech"Unable...Total Disk Space"03:14
innatechBut the rest works.03:14
innatechSo, maybe it needs an update?03:15
pteaguemaybe so03:15
pteaguei was running it to see what was going on...  star trek was on my recorded list, went to play it & no file... was trying to see how much time i had before the next show started (hence mythtv-status) to see if i needed to reboot it... i've had issues with my pvr-500 driver crashing for 2nd tuner (1st is really rare, but it happened once or twice) & only way i know to fix it is reboot03:16
pteaguei'm hoping it's only the ownership issues ;)03:17
innatechgotcha. Did you check the logs to see if it complained about being unable to create the file?03:17
pteaguehaven't gotten that far yet03:19
pteaguehave 33 rows of "! Warning - Creating an instance caused and error for one of: MythTV, MythVideo or MythDB" in /var/log/mythtv/jamu.log03:24
cr3hi folks, I used to preseed mythbuntu with the following values: http://mythbuntu.pastebin.com/NRPS2GiT18:33
cr3however, I now get prompted for the xorg driver (step 1 of 12 when both open source and proprietary drivers are available) or for the master something (step 1 of 11)18:33
cr3anyone happen to have a convenient preseed to automate the installation of mythbuntu?18:34
cr3sorry, I didn't mention: the above pastebin worked fine on karmic but I'd appreciate an update for lucid :)18:37
superm1cr3, hmm...18:38
superm1you didn't get prompted in karmic for a driver when both were available?18:38
cr3superm1: maybe I didn't look closely enough on systems which had support for proprietary drivers, so I could be wrong regarding karmic18:39
cr3superm1: I'll try to get it right this time though :)18:40
superm1cr3, well try to preseed mythbuntu/video_driver to "Open Source Driver" if you want the open source driver on these systems18:40
superm1(or if you want one that will work on all systems)18:40
cr3superm1: the value is either that or a specific name, like "AMD" for example, right? I couldn't specify a generic "Proprietary" or somesuch to work on all systems?18:40
superm1cr3, well it's the exact same string that gets presented in the GUI18:41
cr3superm1: gotcha18:41
superm1but all systems will have "Open Source Driver"18:41
superm1the GUI is populating it from a combination of nvidia-common/nvidia-detector/mythbuntu-common18:42
superm1if you are still getting stuck on the page asking for master something, try to preseed mythtv/mysql_mythtv_user to 000018:43
cr3hm, I tried adding this to my preseed file and I still get prompted: ubiquity mythbuntu/video_driver string Open Source Driver18:49
* cr3 steps out for lunch, bbl18:50
superm1cr3, Okay, next thing then; preseed both mythbuntu/tvout and mythbuntu/tvstandard to "Disable TV-Out"18:53
cr3superm1: awesome, that worked! now, can I preseed Master Backend Connection somehow? should this be handled by: ubiquity mythbuntu/install_type string Master Backend/Frontend19:36
superm1cr3, that's the mythtv/mysql_mythtv_user to 000019:38
superm1its in addition to ubiquity/mythbuntu_install_type19:38
superm1cr3, would you consider adding your preseed to mythbuntu-live-autostart so we can install it as an example for people to use in the future?19:39
superm1it could be shipped on the media then in usr/share/docs, and you can just refer to it from the kernel command line without needing to provide it on the internet or elsewhere19:39
cr3mythtv/mysql_mythtv_user worked, but it seems strange that all the other preseed keys start with mythbuntu whereas this one starts with mythtv19:46
cr3superm1: sure, it would be my pleasure to provide my preseed for this release as well as future releases19:46
cr3superm1: it would be nice if this were provided in a standard way as a template for everyone to use and abuse :)19:47
cr3superm1: do you happen to know if there's a way to skip the configure guide data wizard?19:57
superm1cr3, there isn't a way right now, but it's possible maybe to add something like that21:47
superm1cr3, just add your preseed to a bug against mythbuntu-live-autostart ubuntu package or if you want a merge request21:47
metalacanyone knows why trying to install libvdpau1 it wants to remove mythtv?22:17
metalaclibdvdpa is required by nvidia 195 driver22:17
cr3superm1: sure, I'm juggling a few things right now but I'll remember to report a bug and I'll ping you when done22:26
superm1metalac, you have to enable autobuilds to use the 195 driver22:39
superm1(or use lucid)22:40
