Linux000Is there a way to link 2 Bugs, i.e. If fixing one bug fixes the other?01:35
Linux000Is there a way to link 2 Bugs, i.e. If fixing one bug fixes the other?01:42
greg-gLinux000: please only ask your question once. And the answer to your question is "it depends, but probably not how you would like." You can mark one bug as a duplicate of another bug when that bug is the same bug. But if fixing one also fixes the other but they are separate issues, then keep them as separate bugs and just close them when the issue is fixed.01:45
greg-gLinux000: thanks for helping!01:45
Linux000Also, would a UI (request?) like bug 53768 be considered a bug? It seems more like personal preference.01:47
ubot4Launchpad bug 53768 in clustalw (Ubuntu) "[Sync Request] clustalw 1.83-1.1" [Undecided,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/5376801:47

crimsunLinux000: sure, that _could_ be a bug02:51
crimsunLinux000: I'd be inclined to mark it wishlist after retitling it02:51
Linux000crimsun: thanks02:53
Linux000Could someone set the Importance of bugs 537783, 537773, and 537768 to wishlist?03:03
ubot4Linux000: Bug 537783 on http://launchpad.net/bugs/537783 is private03:03

m0arMy X-session randomly restarts after being logged on a frw minutes. It's NOT the bug when it restarts when you press a certain key, so I have no idea. Usually happens when the system if fully loaded, I've started up some shit and starts a chet with someone. Screen gets black and I return to the logon screen. Is this known?07:11
m0arI'm running lucid, fully updated system.07:11
m0arI'll have to leave for work, but a query form anyone who knows someything would be appreciated!07:14

MishtalHey folks, I'm trying to file a bug against network-manager, but ubuntu-bug is telling me "Cannot connect to crash database, please check your Internet connection." Anyone have any advice?14:40
yofelMishtal: known, please tell bug 538097 that it affects you14:41
ubot4Launchpad bug 538097 in apport (Ubuntu) "Apport cannot connect to crash database (affects: 5)" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/53809714:41
persiaMishtal: You might want to follow bug #538097 until there is a solution14:41
MishtalAlright. Thanks everyone. Is there a workaround to create a new bug until then?14:41
iktneg14:42
MishtalAh. ok. Well, I'll just leave a note to myself then14:43
PiciI just mentioned it in #launchpad, since its cross-platform it may not actually be an apport bug.14:43
yofelgood idea, I doubt that apport is broken too14:47

trijntjeHi all, I have found a problem but I dont know what package it is:19:02
micahgtrijntje: what's the problem19:03
trijntjeWhen 'safely removing' media the icon on the desktop disappears, but then after a few seconds 'pending operations' get completed and only after that the device can safely be removed19:03
* micahg doesn't19:04
micahg know19:04
trijntjeok, no problem, but would you agree thats a problem?19:04
micahgno, not necessarily19:05
trijntjewell, when the icon is gone i just pull the stick out, but that could lead to data loss, hence the problem19:06
micahgtrijntje: yeah, you should wait for it to say you can safely remove19:07
trijntjeI know that now, but I still think its not what people will expect19:08
vishmicahg: but it wont say that always ;) only when there is pending read/write operations , which havent completed immediately it shows that19:08
trijntjebut I suppose the package people can alway's say its not a problem, when I know the package19:08
* vish finds bug19:08
vishtrijntje: not the same bug , but insisting that the notification is shown always > https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58734019:11
ubot4Gnome bug 587340 in fuse "Consistent Volume "Safe to remove" notifications" [Normal,Unconfirmed]19:11
vishtrijntje: right now , the "safe to remove" is shown only when it takes longer than 0.5secs to remove  , which is a bad design IMO19:12
trijntjevish: yes, and since most users will unmount it using right click on the desktop icon that is where they will look to see if its safe to remove19:13
vishmeh , few of us tried to reason with davidz but he has his own standards or rationale19:15
trijntjevish: so the advice is to give up?19:21
vishtrijntje: well , you can comment on the bug ;)19:21
vishtremolux: 3-4 of us tried to reason out with him , but he kept saying this doesnt happen..19:23
vishoops trijntje ^19:23
trijntjevish: ok, ill see if he listens to me ;) Thanks for your time, at least I know the package now19:28
vishnp..19:29

seb128can you open a bug with an example?20:25
hggdhOK. How do I submit a branch of mine for merge on LP?20:48
micahghggdh: click propose merge, and then search for the branch to merge into20:50
hggdhbllody thing does not show a 'propose merging' -- or I am looking at the wrong place20:52
yofelhggdh: hi, can you renew my bugsquad membership if you get the time? Got the mail from LP today20:52
hggdhyofel: will do20:54
micahghggdh: where's your branch?20:54
hggdhmicahg: https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~hggdh2/+junk/testdrive20:55
micahghggdh: I don't think you can merge from +junk as it's not really a branch20:55
hggdhah20:56
micahgyou should push under lp:~hggdh2/testdrive/whatever20:56
hggdhso I cannot create in junk... this might be it20:56
hggdhyofel: done20:56
micahghggdh: junk is supposed to be a misc storage place20:56
hggdhmicahg: yes, this is it, thank you20:59
