[14:34] Hi, anyone try the new proprietary ATI Catalyst 10.3 linux driver, released yesterday? [14:34] Here's the link: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx?type=2.4.2&product=2.4.2.3.25&lang=English [14:34] I have not tried that driver [14:35] I stick to nvidea [14:36] after i installed the last proprietary driver, i got a blank screen after rebooting [14:51] hello?? [14:51] Hello [14:52] hello?? [14:52] hello?? [14:52] can you help me?? [14:52] We can try, what problem are you experiencing ? [14:53] ok........ready? [14:53] im doing a usb tether to my droid... [14:53] i got it working but.. [14:54] im trying to make a script file that will run the 3 "start modem " commands rather than typing it all out in term every time [14:55] under stand?? [14:55] Yes :) [14:56] the 3 lines are .. [14:56] adb forward tcp: xxxxxx tcp:xxxxx [14:57] sudo cp resolv.conf /etc [14:57] use && to concat the commands [14:57] sudo openvpn --config azilink.ovpn [14:57] ?? [14:58] define concat [14:58] line 2 doesnt work in the script... only if entered in term manually AS ROOT [14:58] So you can run the commands in one go for instance..... [14:59] sudo adb forward tcp: xxxxxx tcp:xxxxx && cp resolv.conf /etc && openvpn --config azilink.ovpn [14:59] humm.. what would be the proper syntax for that option [14:59] ok [14:59] nice.. [15:00] ok but the /etc/resolv.conf file... [15:00] seem to be protected [15:01] it will copy if using root but not in script [15:01] Permissions on the script perhaps ? [15:01] i tried to modify that ..it wont stick [15:03] the owner is set to root.. and it even asks for pw upon run but just does not copy..and also does not error either [15:04] the vpn loads on line 3 but without the resolv.conf to set nameserver .. no web.. [15:05] :( [15:05] like i said i can do it manually but not in the script .. i even tried "cp -f" [15:05] Hmm [15:05] Anyone else got any ideas? Hellow ? [15:06] i just wanted a feeakn shortcut...lol [15:07] If you get it going you could add your script to the startup processes [15:07] Then no need for you to click anything [15:07] o well ... fyi... the connection is suprisingly fast.. === mohi_away is now known as mohi1 [15:08] well maybe ..1 catch it thaT the wifi has to be disabled for this vpn to connect [15:09] im verry happy with the browsing speed ... streeming hulu and everything. verision rocks [15:09] verizon [15:10] fyi im on my phon now..... irc client and all...lol [15:12] well thanks anyway === mohi1 is now known as mohi_away === mohi_away is now known as mohi1 === mohi1 is now known as mohi_away === mohi_away is now known as mohi1 === mohi1 is now known as mohi_away [18:24] Having trouble with Ipod classic 160gb. Running ubuntu 9.10. Ipod connects sometimes, but after adding music, the music does not show on the ipod itself. Have checked several bug reports, but have not been able to resolve the issue. [18:30] chrisaxelrod You have music on the ipod, can you see the music like files? [18:30] Or does it just not show up in the ipod itself [18:32] chrisaxelrod Here is a guide that may help you: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PortableDevices/iPhone [18:32] It covers both the iphone and the ipod it seems [18:34] I can see the files on my computer when the ipod syncs, but not when disconnected. I have looked at that link before, it seems to only be applicable for touch and iphone stuff [18:36] Mar 25 14:35:49 swag kernel: [ 2830.528115] usb 2-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8 [18:36] Mar 25 14:35:49 swag kernel: [ 2830.661652] usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 2 choices [18:36] chrisaxelrod Hm. And so how do you copy over the files? Is it a program or do you actually copy/paste them? [18:36] chrisaxelrod Have you seen this link? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PortableDevices/iPod [18:38] chrisaxelrod also, are you sure the formats you are sending over are compatible with your ipod? [18:38] i think so [18:38] the music is generally in mp3 format [18:39] chrisaxelrod How exactly are you getting the music from your computer to your ipod? [18:40] i add the music to rhythmbox then add it to the ipod from rhythmbox [18:41] Hm [18:44] chrisaxelrod This looks like a good start: http://www.simplehelp.net/2007/07/03/how-to-manage-your-ipod-using-rhythmbox-in-ubuntu/ [18:44] thanks a lot. i will take a look at it [18:53] chrisaxelrod Anytime :) [19:18] Hi Genisus [19:18] heu lukjad86 [19:25] * pedro__ slaps freenode === pedro__ is now known as pedro3005 [19:41] lukjad86, chrisaxelrod is my roommate, wonder what he was doing in here [19:42] lukjad86, thanks for helping :) [19:42] paultag :D [19:42] paultag I didn't know we had company, I would have cleaned up a bit :) [19:42] :P [19:42] Heh [19:44] paultag Did I fix it? :) [19:49] lukjad86, don't think so [19:49] lukjad86, I gave that problem about 2 hours irl, and it was still around [19:49] Aw [19:49] lukjad86, thanks though :) [19:50] :) [19:51] OK [19:51] who here majored in math in college?
