jeanfiHello, I have opened 2 bugs which I no more reproduce since the lucid beta1. I guess the bugs should be closed but other people declare to be impacted by the bug without mentionning if it is before or after beta11:22

pedro_dpm, hey, have a minute? does bug 542704 looks to you like a valid ubuntu-translations tasks?13:49
ubot4`Launchpad bug 542704 in checkbox (Ubuntu) (and 1 other project) "Test selector screen is not wide enough for 4 buttons (affects: 1)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/54270413:49
dpmpedro_, sure, looking...13:50
pedro_dpm, seems that the problem is just checkbox in that case13:50
dpmwe'll have to beat cr313:50
pedro_there's no code to touch on the translations side afaik13:50
pedro_dpm, cool! i'll assign the bug to him ;-)13:50
dpm:)13:51
dpmpedro_, yeah, I think it's a valid translations task. kelemengabor filed it, and he knows translations :)13:52
pedro_dpm, so just leave it open for keep tracking of it?13:53
dpmpedro_, we normally mark them as triaged them to keep track of such tasks, and let the developers fix them or nag them after a while :) Sometimes translations people also provide patches and close the translations task for themselves13:54
pedro_dpm, ok will mark it as such then, thanks!13:55
dpmcool13:55
pedro_thekorn, hello are you there? it seems that hugday init doesn't work anymore at least with cookies14:06
pedro_thekorn, we're getting an error : TypeError: Error while trying to read cookie in sql format, cannot handle format of '/home/pedro/.mozilla/firefox/s0k7zod7.default/cookies.sqlite'14:07
pedro_thekorn, and dpm is getting the same error there14:07
yofelfirefox running maybe?14:07
dpmwith wiki-id seems to work14:07
pedro_closing firefox seems to work, weird that there's no notes of that on the tool page14:09
pedro_dpm, works fine for you if you close firefox?14:09
dpmoh, let me try in a minute, I've got way too many tabs and windows open :)14:10
yofelpedro_: there is a note about closing mozilla in the cookie instructions14:11
pedro_i'll put that in bold and big ;-)14:12
dpmpedro_, in your experience with patches, what do you think devs prefer, patches, a branch + merge proposal, or it doesn't matter? I'd think branch + MP, but before recommending any approach to people, I'd prefer asking the experts :)14:27
pedro_dpm, i'd ask the maintainers directly on what's their preference ;-)14:28
dpmok :)14:28
seb128dpm, usually having a bug for desktop changes is better14:29
seb128dpm, otherwise it's likely we will not read the mp, dunno who receive those but not the maintainer often14:30
seb128dpm, ie we don't get notified about those14:30
dpmseb128, yeah, but I meant once you've got the bug, is there a preferred approach? Or everyone's different?14:30
seb128then the format of the change, debdiff or mp doesn't realy make a difference...14:30
seb128I think we lean toward the mp way14:30
dpmok, thanks for the info, Seb14:31

kamusindpm, question: what status should I set for example for this bug 54509514:31
ubot4`Launchpad bug 545095 in software-center (Ubuntu Lucid) (and 2 other projects) ""Featured Applications" untranslated and untranslatable (affects: 1)" [Medium,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/54509514:31
kelemengaborkamusin: the template is approved: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+source/software-center/+imports so I think we can say it is fix released14:34
kamusinfor translations that are not released yet but are translated at LP14:34
dpmkamusin, I'd mark it as Fix Released as the bug itself. The main issue, it not being translatable has been fixed14:34
dpmthe fact that translations are not there yet because they're waiting on the next language pack to be released, doesn't affect the bug14:35
dpmif translations are not loaded even after the new language packs containing them, then we'll have to file another bug :)14:36
kamusindpm, right.. so these cases can be marked like Fix Released14:36
dpmyeah, I think so14:37
kamusincool , thanks dpm :)14:37
thekornpedro_: hi, I'm there now, do you have a running firefox instance?14:51
pedro_thekorn, all solved it was firefox, I've put a '''note''' in the wiki with bold and big ;-)14:53
thekornokidoki14:55
thekornbtw, I think this is a bug in firefox, why should FF keep a sqlite connection open all the time?14:56
thekornbut this is a completely different question .... ;)14:56

ubot4`Launchpad bug 546966 in autoconf (Ubuntu) "autoconf's "mktime" test gets stuck, takes too much CPU (affects: 1)" [Undecided,New]15:18
blissi've experienced that, but it's only a few seconds, nothing impacting functionality15:20
salty-horsebliss, how many seconds?15:21
blissprobably 20-3015:25
salty-horsewas it like that in karmic?15:28
salty-horsethat's too much for a test that checks if a function works15:28
salty-horseI'm pretty sure it's a bug15:28
blissyes, this is in karmic15:38
blissif i recall, i can try again to make sure, i've been switching distros a lot lately for testing15:38
blissseems to be intermittent, just did a mktime check that went instantly15:40
blissin fact, i may be remembering incorrectly, it might have happened on a Debian system instead15:41
salty-horseoh well. I still think this is a problem15:41
salty-horsecould you add a comment with the system you tested on?15:41

salty-horseand http://tracker.xemacs.org/XEmacs/its/issue48615:42
salty-horseI wonder why searching for "mktime" didn't find that bug before :/15:43
