[02:46] is anyone here using mirobridge? [03:00] !help [03:00] !help For a complete list of my knowledge visit: http://www.baablogic.net/Zinn.cgi Other available commands: !status, !about, !bug [bug_number]. [04:32] hi [04:34] my mythtv-backend repeatedly crashes when the dvb-s scan is at 100%, the import popup doesn't appear [04:34] I already tried taskset -c 0 mythtv-setup but with the same result [04:50] anybody there? [04:59] everyone is asleep..... =) [05:18] I've just loaded up mythbuntu 10.04-beta1 64bit and found that it doesn't reboot properly after installation [05:18] Should I report this bug on 'https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu' [05:18] [bugs.launchpad.net] Bugs in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV [06:46] map7_: yes, bug reports are always welcome :) [07:31] Is anyone here running the lucid version of mythbuntu yet? I've noticed that with mythvideo installed. mythfrontend crashes if there is a DVD in the drive. Has anyone else seen this? [07:33] I have "scan for ..." enabled... but it seems that it doesnt like DVD's for some reason. I have libdvdcss2 installed. [07:34] Just thought I would check here before opening a bug in launchpad. === Memphisau is now known as Memphis === Memphisau is now known as Memphis [12:24] Hi, I am new to mythbuntu and I am trying to install with wibu for a dual boot on my media center. During the installation it asks a few questions about graphics drivers which I left as the open source option then it asks about the sql database which I have no clue about and just left as it is. Then it reboots but when I select mythbuntu as the boot option it takes me to a grub screen and only gives me the option to run windows 7. I have no [15:33] has anyone had any luck using w_scan for getting a channel list? I find that the mythtv scanner doesnt really work so well and I am trying to find a viable solutions for scanning digital channels. === 20QAAI57R is now known as DarthFrog [16:07] anyone? [16:13] dewman: if you're having specific trouble with the scanner in 0.22, you might try the one in 0.23 [16:15] mrand, I am currently running trunk on .22 not sure if I want to make the dive to .23 yet.....23 is coming out pretty soon isnt it? [16:28] "I am currently running trunk on .22" what? [16:39] tgm4883: in at least one place, 0.22 says trunk-0.22, right? [16:39] yes [16:39] Don't make me stab you [16:39] i'll do it :) [16:40] I know you will. I'm not afraid. [16:40] mrand, would you happen to know why there is conflicting channels on a new scan? I deleted all the sources and even deleted the capture card. and the scan on qam 64 shows 25 MPEG conflicting channels.... [16:40] !stab mrand [16:40] * Zinn stabs mrand with superm1's Dell "mini" LHC. [16:40] heheh. [16:40] I'm sorry, I know not of the ways of digital scanning. If you don't get replies here, you might try a bigger audience on the forums or #mythtv-users [16:41] anyone else? =) [16:47] what are scte channels? [20:24] I just had Comcast cable television installed this morning. It's *awful*. [20:25] ball: don't know that many people will argue with you on that. [20:30] mrand: Now I have to find some alternative. [20:30] :-( [20:32] If the picture quality is that bad, they should fix/repair it, and/or cancel service with no charge to you. [20:36] there is no alternate in most areas, unless you can do with just an antenna [20:39] Well, satellite is available in most areas, assuming no line-of-site blockage. [20:40] mrand: may as well just go antenna then :) [20:41] unless you have a closet full of HDPVRs [20:42] rhpot1991: not yet. In fact, the only thing in my closest right now is a router and cable modem. Don't even have a HDHR yet. [20:57] I would go with an antenna if I had the money to have it installed. [20:57] ...and to build a PVR of some sort. [21:02] * tgm4883 uses an antenna [21:02] like 80 bucks and it sits inside my attic [21:02] tgm4883: In my attic, I'd pick up just one station. [21:02] ...with two streams. [21:03] ball, how far away do you live from the transmission site? [21:04] tgm4883: About 100km? (60 miles) from most of them. [21:05] thats about what mine is [21:05] House has a 30' (10m) tower, but I can't afford to get it painted and have an antenna installed. [21:06] That would probably cost more than a year of cable TV [21:07] Have you checked antenna web? [21:07] * ball nods [21:07] and it only listed 2 channels? [21:07] I know which antenna I'd buy, if I had the money. [21:07] you much have crappy terrain [21:08] No, one station is what I'd get if I had the antenna in the roof, as you mentioned. [21:08] On top of the tower I think I'd get about ten [21:08] ...though some of those would be Spanish. [21:08] have you tested in your roof at all? [21:08] what is your roof made out of? [21:08] tgm4883: wood, with ordinary tar shingles [21:09] asphalt [21:09] yea so i'm not sure why you think you would only get one channel then [21:09] Where are you located? [21:09] About 60 miles S. of Chicago [21:09] Oh, it's a ranch though, so the roof is lower than on a two story house. [21:11] I have to go [21:13] little man? [21:13] I have a hauppage PVR 500 that worked great for me until I went to 9.10 now my channels look really grainy. I've checked and it's set to my proper channel frequency setting. [21:14] Anyone else experiencing this sadness? [21:14] tate, did you upgrade or fresh install? [21:14] Fresh install [21:14] Is there a newer TV card that works better? [21:14] Did you up the bitrate? [21:14] i think it's kinda low myself [21:14] Well my sound is really crappy too [21:14] It's not just picture [21:15] There is some problem with reception. [21:16] tate, you have cable or antenna? or satellite? [21:17] normal us cable [21:17] It worked great until I upgraded [21:34] Anyone here have a HVR 1600 tv card? [21:34] I'm going to try to get a different card as they're inexpensive
