ddecator_does renaming a profile essentially create a new profile?08:05
BUGabundo_remoteBOONNNSSSSSS DDIIIIIAAAASSSSSSSSS08:54
ddecator_and hello again BUGabundo_remote =p08:55
* BUGabundo_remote hugs ddecator_ and throws him up in the air08:55
* BUGabundo_remote waves as he goes up08:55
ddecator_BUGabundo_remote: whoa o.o08:55
ddecator_haha08:55
ddecator_BUGabundo_remote: quick question. do you know if a user simply renaming their firefox profile has the same effect as creating a new profile?08:56
BUGabundo_remoteyes08:56
BUGabundo_remotebut $ firefox --ProfileManager is a better option08:57
ddecator_right, i think that's what they used...i'm working on a bug report and i asked them to make a new profile, gave them the command, and they said they renamed it, haha. just wanted to make sure so i can respond accordingly08:58
ddecator_unless you can't rename a profile using the profile manager, idk08:58
BUGabundo_remotemuch better then that08:58
BUGabundo_remoteis to start on SAFEMODE and reproduce08:58
BUGabundo_remotemuch less hassle08:58
BUGabundo_remoteor if wanna do it the _funny_ way08:58
BUGabundo_remoteask them to start a Gnome Guest Session from FUSA08:59
BUGabundo_remotethat's a clean, destructable user profile08:59
BUGabundo_remoteworks with 9.10 and 10.0408:59
ddecator_i used to ask people to try safe-mode, but i didn't want them to accidently reset all of their settings or anything because they didn't read the dialogue box that pops up =p09:00
BUGabundo_remotethe hard part would be for screenshots to be send back09:00
BUGabundo_remoteyeah, that could be dangerous09:00
ddecator_idk, it's 3:10am here, i need to figure that out tomorrow...er, later today, haha09:09
fta2do we have a minifier for javascript in lucid?09:13
rippshmmmmm.... html5 youtube causes chromium dev ppa to crash10:12
fta2ripps, ? url?10:32
fta2wfm here in x6410:33
fta2using trunk10:33
rippsfta2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZlyHtSZsYQ&feature=grec10:35
rippsactually, I think it crashes everytime I try to play any video10:35
rippsI can play video podcasts from google reader, I always have to open the link in epiphany to play it.10:36
fta2that url works for me10:37
fta2chromium-browser 5.0.365.0~svn20100329r42923-0ubuntu1~ucd110:37
fta2chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra 0.5+svn20100330r43036+43030+43160-0ubuntu1~ucd110:37
rippsfta2: yeah, I have the same packages.10:38
fta2if you can get a crash trace, please file a bug10:39
rippsgeez, 87 mb just for a dbg package10:40
BUGabundo_remotefta we are not bundling flash with chromium are we ??10:59
BUGabundo_remoteplease say NO10:59
BUGabundo_remoteripps: WFM11:00
rippswfm?11:00
BUGabundo_remoteWorks For Me11:00
rippsah11:01
rippsI'm installing some dbg packages now to try to get to the root of the problem11:01
rippshmm... chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra-dbg tries to install ffmpeg package instead of ffmpeg-extra11:02
rippsfta2: I'm not getting anything in gdb when a crash occurs, how do I get gdb to focus on a particular tab's thread?11:07
ripps0xb6e0e26c in av_opt_set_defaults2 () from /usr/lib/chromium-browser/libffmpegsumo.so11:14
rippsfta2 BUGabundo_remote: ^^11:17
BUGabundo_remotedon't look at me11:17
BUGabundo_remoteI'm just an user11:17
rippsHmm... when I use the normal ffmepg-codecs, not -extra, browser doesn't crash, but the video never loads, the loading icon just keeps going.11:23
BUGabundo_remotehtml5 is on the "normal"11:35
fta2ripps, please install the codecs dbg too, then let apport resolve it12:37
fta2BUGabundo_remote, internal flash, not sure. this needs to be discussed12:37
fta2there are pros and cons12:37
rippsfta2: well, -extras-dbg removes the -extra package and installs the normal -ffmpeg package. Apport doesn't seem to capture any crashes in chromium, so I'm not sure how that should help.12:39
rippsAnd I only experience the "crash" with the -extra codecs, normal just never loads.12:39
fta2hm, i need to fix that dbg thing then12:41
fta2fixed, but bzr is down, and lp read-only12:45
rippsI'm going to bed anyway, I've already filed a bug at the chromium bug tracker.12:46
chrisccoulsonasac - so, i've nearly finished with the mozilla updates now. i've updated nss in karmic to 3.12.6 as required. we don't need to update nss in jaunty for the default browser (3.0), but we ship 3.5/1.9.1 in universe which needs it. is that ok to update too?17:06

rippsfta2: dev-channel google chrome works with youtube html5, but not chromium. So I think something must be wrong with the codec packages.21:27
