jmunizhello?05:47
jmunizhonk. Anyone around that can help with a music store problem.06:00
jmuniz?06:00
spmjmuniz: unf not; I'd suspect they're all asleep atm. Your best bet right now, would be to add a question request via https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntuone/+addquestion06:04
jmuniz@spm thanks for the tip... I'll try that06:04

ryeduanedesign, morning!09:03
duanedesignrye:  hows your paperwork coming for UDS?09:12
ryeduanedesign, still phase #2 - submitted, got some calls from embassy but haven't heard from them since Friday :(09:12
ryeduanedesign, the first call was "What is Ubuntu company?" and the second was "Why Canonial wants to do this in Belgium". I believe they are now doing some background checks... Or forgot about my application completely09:14
duanedesignrye: I had bad luck getting to the last UDS. Hopefully the next on in the states things will go better.:)09:15
ryeResult: An error window pops up for less than a second and09:16
rye~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/oauth-login.log contains the following:09:16
ryehttps://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/55212409:17
ryehmmm09:17
ubottuUbuntu bug 552124 in ubuntuone-client "ubuntuone-login errors after retrieving valid token" [Medium,Confirmed]09:17
ukevHi09:38
ukevI filled a bug three month ago, it was fixed two month ago, but is now present again. I added a comment to the bugreport but got no response. Should I reopen the closed bug?09:39
ukev(Bug #505702)09:39
ubottuLaunchpad bug 505702 in ubuntuone-client "Tomboy can not sync anymore with ubuntu one" [High,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/50570209:39
ryeukev, hi, do you have the access to the notes via the web interface?09:43
ukevyes, the notes are listed and I can read them clicking on the title, I did not try to modify them09:44
ryeukev, ok, could you please run the following script - http://people.canonical.com/~roman.yepishev/ubuntuone-scripts/tomboy-recovery.py - that should print the names of the notes that are blank locally.09:46
ukevrye, before that I think I should tell you, what happended on my last "working" sync09:46
ryeukev, if possible, could you please pastebin the output of that script (it may print the titles of the notes, so please check whether there is some sensitive info for you before pastebining)09:46
ryeukev, hm... continue09:47
ukevI'm using 2 computers, my laptop and my desktop. And on my last sync on the desktop to ubuntu one it renamed a lot of notes to "note_title (old)" with the original content but also creates a new empty note with the "note_title", after that I was able to sync my laptop a for few days (which didn't clear my notes)09:48
ukevso I guess I have a lot of empty notes on my desktop but not on my laptop09:49
ryeukev, hm, when was the last desktop sync?09:51
ukevon 18th february09:52
ryeukev, i believe that was bug #52433909:52
ubottuLaunchpad bug 524339 in ubuntuone-servers "Tomboy notes are blank after sync" [Critical,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/52433909:52
ryeukev, which is now fixed though, ok. But if there is at least one blank note (i.e. w/o content) then that's what is breaking the web ui09:53
ukevok, but the web ui is working09:54
ryeukev, not web ui, but Tomboy sync09:54
ukevok09:54
ryehttps://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuOne/Status - bug #53814009:54
ubottuLaunchpad bug 538140 in ubuntuone-servers "Blank note content in HTML format causes server oops during HTML to TomboyXML conversion" [High,In progress] https://launchpad.net/bugs/53814009:54
ukevI just run your script, it processed 131 notes and then raised an exception09:55
ryeukev, hm?09:57
ryeukev, /me wants to know what's the exception09:57
ukevyes, I'm just preparing the output for pastebin09:58
ryeukev, by "processed" you mean "bumped" the revision?09:58
ukevyes09:58
ukevhere it is http://pastebin.com/ftBtTJGj10:00
ukevshould I also run the script on my laptop?10:10
vdsPaulGit: pong10:11
PaulGitvds: Good morning.  Just wanted to check-in to see if you need me to do any tests for you?10:11
ukevrye, it run without exception on my laptop and processed 6 notes10:12
vdsPaulGit: not yet, I'm still fixing a problem with "perceived" data loss10:12
vdsPaulGit: but I went trough the logs10:12
PaulGitvds:Did the logs show you what you needed?10:12
vdsPaulGit: not really, I'll get the logs form the server to do some comparison10:13
vdsPaulGit: thanks a lot for your patience10:14
ryeukev, hm, may I have a look at the exception?10:17
ryeukev, from desktop?10:17
ukevrye, the exception is at the end of the pastebin I've posted (http://pastebin.com/ftBtTJGj)10:21
ukevrye, did you get any cognitions10:43
ryeukev, well, your notes are in HTML and some of them are blank, could you please check the notes that are mentioned on your laptop via the web interface?10:43
ryeukev, I haven't came up with the automatic tool to process them on the server side yet ;(10:44
rye:(10:44
ukevyes, they are all right on the web interface and I copied the content back to my local tomboy that there are now no empty notes anymore, tomboy-recovery.py doesn't produce any output now10:45
ukev(formatting of my notes were lost)10:46
ryeanybody against me start doing ubuntu-bugpatterns for ubuntuone-client?10:47
ryeukev, hm, ok, is the sync ok now?10:48
ukevnow, but I have 3 empty notes on the web ui at the moment, how can I delete them?10:50
ukevnow=no, sorry :)10:50
ryeukev, there is a trash can displayed when you click on the note title10:52
ryegrrr, we can not do proper bug matching10:52
ukevoh, on the list side, sorry - overlooked that10:53
ryewe need to have oauth-login.log, syncdaemon-exceptions.log sent not via their standard paths but via some pre-defined keys, i.e. OAuthLoginLog or SyncdaemonExceptionsLog10:53
ukevrye, there is a bug on the webui that prevents deleting notes with long names: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2634187/bugs/tomboy/can_not_delete_note_with_web_ui.png11:04
ukevso I can not delete that empty note11:05
ryeukev, hm, it might be even non-filed so far :(11:05
ryeukev, ok, could you please add some minimal content to such note then please11:06
ukevI want to delete the second entry, but the icon is dropped down to the 3rd, and the mouse over the icon gets the link from the 3rd note11:06
ukevNo, I renamed that note to a shorter title and then deleted it :)11:06
ukevbut syncing still does not work, I opened all reported notes (reported by tomboy-recovery.py in multiple passes) and non of them is now empty, either I filled them with content or deleted them11:08
ukevI checked them 3 times to be sure11:08
ukevOne reported note doesn't exist on the web ui: in german its "Neue Notizbuchvorlage" that mean a model for a new note11:09
ukevI also noticed that there are a few notes without correct formatting, e.g. the word "network" is not linked to the network note in this note11:11
ukev(maybe "template for new note" would be a better translation instead of "model")11:13
ryeukev, bug #55250111:15
ubottuLaunchpad bug 552501 in ubuntuone-servers "Cannot remove a note with long title - Trash can runs away" [Medium,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/55250111:15
ryegrrr11:15
ukevjust was filling the same :)11:16
ryeukev, ok, the one with "Neue Notizbuchvorlage" - do you see the UUID of the note?11:16
ryeukev, ah, sorry, I spotted this once but added to my TODO list of bugs to report :)11:16
ukevno problem, I was a bit slower so I did not submit it ;)11:17
jmunizhello. i purchased an album through the store and it shows up in the web ui, but it doesn't download to the .ubuntuone folder. any ideas? synchd is connected and its been about 7 hours11:17
ukevyes I have the uuid11:17
rye    attach_file_if_exists(report, path, key=None)11:17
ryeukev, could you please visit this note as https://one.ubuntu.com/notes/edit/$UUID ?11:18
ryeapport hooks are so simple but we broke the Key part. Not good. Fixing that right now11:18
ukevrye, yes, I opened it, should I add some content? isn't it normal that note templates are empty?11:19
ryeukev, yes, that's normal, but with lucid beta2 approaching the developers are a little bit loaded with other tasks :(11:20
ukevyes, I can imagine that :)11:20
ryeukev, I have reported 5+ note bugs so far, waiting for them to fix that. I gathered those that cause OOPS here - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuOne/Status11:21
ukevso I should add some content to the template now?11:22
ryeukev, yes, please11:23
ukevgreat - working now :) - thanks a lot!11:25
jmunizanyone?11:26
ukevjmuniz, sorry, did not try music store :(11:26
ukevrye, whats now with my desktop, how can I "reset" it?11:27
jmunizok. does anyone know when people file in #u1msbeta... I've been trying there for awhile11:27
ryeaquarius, ^11:27
jmunizalso: the ubuntu one music store link in rhythmbox is directing to the generic 7digital store instead of the ubuntu branded one, so I can't look up my downloads11:29
ryeukev, hmm, in case there are blank notes locally on your desktop then their sync will cause the same issue as before, the fastest way is to create a backup of your desktop notes and reset tomboy sync settings11:29
ryeukev, the longer one is to find the blank notes that are on your desktop machine and add some content. Subsequent syncs will not break the notes then11:30
ukevI doesn't need my desktop notes because there are outdated and a lot of the are corrupt (because of the 18. february bug), so I just want to drop them and take the ones from laptop11:30
ukevBut I don't want to just delete all notes, because I'm afraid that tomboy thinks the deleted are the new one (because of newer delete date) and delete all my notes from ubuntu one11:31
ukevSo just exit tomboy and delete ~/.local/share/tomboy ?11:32
ryeukev, first - I'd remove the tomboy association with ubuntuone - Tomboy Preferences / Synchronization11:34
ryeukev, and then I would remove tomboy notes from the corresponding directory (but I would also create a backup, just in case)11:35
ryeI need to crash ubuntuone client now11:36
rye1.1.411:36
ryeany suggestions?11:36
ukevhm, it copied my old notes back, so I guess I should remove ~/.tomboy/ too11:36
ryeukev, ah, yes, tomboy migrated from .tomboy to .local/share/tomboy11:37
ukevyes11:37
ukevok, now I have a fresh tomboy, I'm just hoping that it want sync the fresh "Starte Here" Note to ubuntu one and overwrite my own11:38
ukevwant= won't :)11:38
ryeukev, hm, they would probably have different UUIDs, so they will conflict in terms of names11:39
ukevok, I will try in 30 minutes11:40
aquariusjmuniz, hi11:59
jmunizhello12:00
aquariusjmuniz, you were looking for Music Store help?12:00
jmunizyes pls.!12:00
jmunizI bought an album yesterday12:00
jmunizit has started to download to the web ui, but won't load into the client12:00
jmunizi.e. the desktop12:01
jmunizand now the music store link in the player points to the 7digital site instead so I can't see the downloads at lall12:01
jmunizby other synching is fine12:02
jmuniz*my12:02
aquariusjmuniz, OK. First step: can you quit Rhythmbox and restart it, and then go to the music store and then to My Downloads, please?12:03
aquariusjmuniz, just in case it's got a bit confused12:03
jmunizsure. thank you so much12:04
duanedesigndarn. Launchpad down for the next two hours.12:05
jmunizgot it12:06
jmunizIts still says Transferring to your Ubuntu One storage12:13
aquariusOK. Has that file actually transferred to your Ubuntu One storage? (that is, is it available in the web interface?)12:14
jmunizIt shows up on the web UI.12:15
aquariusOK. Does the song have an apostrophe in its name?12:16
jmunizAlso, it shows that it is trying to download songs that have already been downloaded12:16
jmunizI'd have to check it is an opera album so there are 78 downloads, but I can confirm that the first ten don't have an apostrophe12:17
aquariuswhat about accented (non-English) characters?12:17
jmunizI'm checking, but the first two pages don't have accented characters12:18
aquariusOK. Can you give me the name of one of the songs which are in the web interface but aren't downloading, so that I can check the logs?12:19
jmunizsure hold on let me cut'n'paste to be safe12:19
jmunizThe Barber of Seville - Comic opera in two acts [first half]: Act I Scene 1 - Piano, pianissimo, senzar parlar (Fiorello, Musicians, Count).mp312:21
jmunizjust downloaded it straight off u112:22
aquariuscool choice of music. :)12:22
jmunizthanks. it was an amazing deal12:23
CardinalFangkenvandine, hi.  Do we have time to make a new desktopcouch package or release?12:24
CardinalFangkenvandine, those last three patches in trunk, in addition to the pending one you've already included, are important.12:24
aquariusjmuniz, I think you're being bitten by a known bug.12:26
jmunizGreat! At least it is something I can follow!12:26
aquariusjmuniz, https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox-ubuntuone-music-store/+bug/546726 - the bug is fixed in development, but the fix has not yet been deployed to production.12:29
ubottuUbuntu bug 546726 in rhythmbox-ubuntuone-music-store "Songs with accented characters or apostrophes in the name don't download" [High,In progress]12:29
aquariusjmuniz, your music should still download, and become available in Rhythmbox (if you look in your music library). Has that happened?12:29
jmuniznope.12:30
aquariusok; may not be that bug, may be a different bug :)12:31
aquariusif the music is in the web UI but not on your local machine, then the problem is with the file sync part of the music store, so let's investigate that.12:31
aquariusjmuniz, can you start a terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal) and say: u1sdtool -s12:32
aquariusjmuniz, and then add the result to paste.ubuntu.com so I can see it12:32
jmunizgot it.12:32
jmunizwill plain text preserve the formating, or should I use python?12:34
jmunizhttp://paste.ubuntu.com/407004/12:35
jmuniznevermind, just checked it12:35
jmunizthe tabs stayed12:35
aquariusjmuniz, ok. and, just to confirm, there are no Barber of Seville files in the folder "$HOME/.ubuntuone/Purchased from Ubuntu One"?12:36
jmunizlet me confirm one more time.12:37
jmuniznope. just the first album I bought12:37
=== teknico is now known as teknico_away
ukevrye, thank you *very very* much, tomboy is now syncing right again :)!12:43
ukevIs there any progress on getting tomboy sync with ubuntu one on other distributions?12:45
ryeukev, hm, I believe that the REST api for tomboy sync is pretty similar on other distributions, I know some users that use Windows version of Tomboy12:50
ryewith Ubuntu One12:50
ukevgentoo/debian would be enough :)12:51
aquariusjmuniz, OK. it sounds like syncdaemon isn't syncing your files. Next step is to disconnect and reconnect. Since you have a terminal open, try "u1sdtool -q; u1sdtool -c"13:04
jmunizok13:06
jmunizits doing a server_rescan13:10
jmunizOk. This is interesting. The files that the keep downloading from the first album have conflict files attached to them...13:22
jmunizshould it have started to sync the music yet?13:25
=== teknico_away is now known as teknico
jmunizOk. Its Idle now, just calling current_downloads and the music hasn't come in.13:29
jmunizhello?13:40
ryejmuniz, reading the backlog..13:46
jmunizcool.13:47
ryejmuniz, could you please pastebin the contents of your ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon.log ?13:48
jmunizone sec.13:48
jmunizhttp://paste.ubuntu.com/407039/13:51
ryenessita, regarding NickL non-downloadable files, it looks like jmuniz has the same issue, no trace of anything that would make syncdaemon want to download the files from .ubuntuone/Purchased* UDF13:57
nessitarye: wow13:58
nessitajmuniz: hi again :-)13:58
nessitajmuniz: can I ask you a few data to start debugging?13:58
ryenessita, http://paste.ubuntu.com/407039/ - syncdaemon.log13:59
jmunizhello!13:59
nessitajmuniz: hey there. Could you please tell me when did you purchase the songs?13:59
jmunizthe album that won't download was yesterday.14:01
facundobatistajmuniz, which song did you purchase?14:01
nessitajmuniz: ok, but you had purchased songs before and they downloaded?14:01
jmunizyes.14:01
jmunizbut two of the files from the first album keep re-downloading. one sec for the album title14:02
jmunizRossini: The Barder of Seville - Comic opera in two acts14:03
facundobatistaoh, the Great Rossini!14:04
jmunizYes!14:04
facundobatistajmuniz, we have a game character that is called Great Grossini :)14:04
facundobatistajmuniz, almost!14:04
jmuniz:)14:05
nessitajmuniz: question: between the purchase of the songs, and today, did you restarted the ubuntuone client?14:10
nessitajmuniz: is not like you should it, I just wanna know14:10
jmunizYes.14:10
facundobatistajmuniz, did you touch the songs? like editing the mp3 fields? or fixing internal song metadata?14:16
nessitajmuniz: and, whenever you get a few minutes, would you please compress the log folder and send it to me?14:17
nessitajmuniz: navigate to ~/.cache/ubuntuone and right click over the log folder -> compress14:17
jmunizThe first album I know I couldn't have cause they didn't come in yet. The first album I looked up the song lyrics but I think RB keeps that in a seperate folder and manages that internally.14:18
jmunizSorry, the second (non-downloading album) I couldn't...14:18
jmunizI'll compress now14:18
facundobatistajmuniz, RB is rhythmbox?14:19
jmunizyes. sorry14:19
jmunizwhere should I send log folder?14:20
nessitajmuniz: natalia.bidart@canonical.com14:20
nessitajmuniz: after that, could you please paste the output of: aptitude show ubuntuone-client ?14:21

nessitajmuniz: got the logs!14:25
jmunizsweet14:25
nessitajmuniz: ok, now, could you please the output of: ls -la /home/jose/.ubuntuone/* ?14:26
nessitajmuniz: I'll be looking at log files in the mean time14:27
facundobatistajmuniz, you only opened the files with RB? to play them? or fixed tags?14:28
jmunizpaste: http://paste.ubuntu.com/407056/14:28
jmunizonly played on RB14:29
jmunizexcept for the lyrics14:29
facundobatistajmuniz, tell me about the lyrics (I don't use RB)14:29
jmunizthere is a plugin to get lyrics to a song. it makes searchs the net and downloads the lyrics to a file and associates the mp3 file with the lyric, I'm pretty sure it doesn't mess witht he ID tag, but I don't know for sure14:31
nessitajmuniz: question about the logs. Did you remove any file inside the log folder?14:35
nessitajmuniz: I was hoping to find older logs files in there, and there are only logs for today14:36
jmunizno I didn't.14:37
jmunizBut thats weird, cause I've seen older logs before.14:37
jmunizhold on let em look at the directory14:37
CardinalFangYay, launchpad.14:39
jmuniznope. no older logs, and the nothing in the trash14:40
ryeCardinalFang, "yay, launchpad" != "launchpad is up" ?14:41
nessitajmuniz: ok, thank you14:45
CardinalFangrye, at least bazaar.l is/was.14:58
ryeCardinalFang, looks like it has not been brought up completely, bzr changes do not show up on the web15:06
CardinalFangOh, the web is probably still broken.15:07

ryeverterok, facundobatista - could somebody please check what's happening with pgraner's syncdaemon - http://paste.ubuntu.com/407119/ - it does not want to advance through the queue16:38

CardinalFangkenvandine, I've delayed other stuff to get this ready.  Chipaca wants my head already.  Do you need a release very badly?16:41
verterokrye: looking at the logs, looks like a Query is running16:42
kenvandineCardinalFang, nah... this is probably fine16:42
kenvandineCardinalFang, any of those patches fix those crashers?16:42
CardinalFangkenvandine, I'll have a release probably Friday, fwiw.16:42

pgranerverterok: --waiting-content http://paste.ubuntu.com/407123/16:44

pgranerverterok: this happens on two lucid boxes16:45
verterokpgraner: migth be a server issue/slowness16:45
pgranerverterok: I've had this issue for days, I find the server slowness hard to believe, I've done the purge U1 process several times and each time I get the same result16:46
verterokpgraner: oh16:46
verterokpgraner: let me check server logs16:46
verterokpgraner: so, it might be a server bug, as it's never sending a response for the Query currently running16:48
verterokgimme a few minutes, I need to digg the logs16:48
pgranerverterok: ack16:49
verterokpgraner: what's your sso id/url?16:52

BookmanI don't seem to be able to get Ubuntu One started anymore.  I start it via System>Preferences>Ubuntu One or from the cl with ubuntuone-preferences and nothing seems to happen except extremely high cpu usage for a task called ubuntuone-login.  This is in 10.04 Beta.17:48
PaiSandBookman, check on the system monitor if it is ubuntuone or if it is another process the one using that high cpu %17:53
BookmanIt is ubuntuone-login17:54
PaiSandand there is only 1 instanse?17:54
BookmanOne that is at the top of the list when sorted by cpu usage17:54
PaiSandkill it and start it again17:55
BookmanI've done that 10 times.  I even left it on last night for 3 hours to see if it would clear itself.  Nope, still very high cpu usage and no connection17:55
PaiSandI had that problem with some process from that ugly e-mail client Ubuntu comes bundled, so I deleted that and now all works fine17:56
PaiSandexcept that I still can't mange to sync UbuntuONe17:56
Bookmanyeah, Ubuntuone is a pain....Always has been.17:57
BookmanProblem is no feedback at all.  No errors, just extreme cpu usage.17:59
PaiSandmmm18:00
PaiSandI am using 10.04 and never got that high cpu usage18:00
PaiSandnot on Ubuntu one18:00
BookmanActually, it happened on a 9.10 installation this morning as well.18:01
ryeBookman,  bug #53060518:01
ubottuLaunchpad bug 530605 in ubuntuone-client "gvfs-mount doesn't always work. gvfsd-smb starts using 100% cpu." [Critical,Fix committed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/53060518:01
Bookmanrye, normally I see that error when using evolution and trying to sync calendars with a remote server.  But the process is actually named gvfs-ftp.  The process list is not showing the process as being gvfs.  It is ubuntuone-login18:02
ryedobey, around?18:03
BookmanI think I'm actually subscribed to the other bug though!18:03
ryeBookman, there is some problem with gnome-keyring and other applications, e.g. desktopcouch-service, ubuntuone-login, gvfsd-*18:03
ryeCardinalFang, around?18:03
BookmanAh, so this is a widespread problem?18:04
CardinalFangrye, Yes.  Unless you have a problem for me, then ^W^W^W^W^W^W^W^W^W18:04
ryeCardinalFang, the bug with high CPU usage related to gnome-keyring - is it fixed centrally in gnome-keyring or every application needs to adjust for it?18:05
CardinalFangrye, I am pretty sure it has to be fixed in gnome-keyring only.  I haven't looked in the last few hours to see if there's progress on it.18:06
mandelCardinalFang, hello, so what is the problem with MergeableLists???18:06
CardinalFangmandel, not as much as I thought.  th-sfred found a problem with the key ordering items.  He will have a patch soon, he says, and then we can tell.18:07

=== beuno is now known as beuno-lunch
ryeBookman, it looks like it is a widespread one, but I have nothing except of the bug report to base my assumptions on :(18:09
CardinalFangmandel, I thought it was something else.  I remember (I think) us working on something near that, so I wanted to make sure he wasn't solving a problem we had fixed but not yet merged.18:09
Bookmanrye, no problem!  Thanks for the response.  I'll wait a couple of updates to see what happens.18:09
mandelCardinalFang, no, we had an issue with the fact that a MergeableList cannot be empty18:09
=== teknico is now known as teknico_away
CardinalFangmandel, right, which we discovered after we found we couldn't remove items from it, iirc.18:10
CardinalFangOr, I'm crazy and I was talking to my dog that day instead.18:10
mandelCardinalFang, unless the dog is spanish and has a beard18:11
dobeyrye: hi18:11
mandelwhat i do not understand is his remark (I might be missing something)18:12
CardinalFangNo, she is german, but she does have a beard.  She also smells better than you do.18:12
ryedobey, hi, i have the question regarding bug #530605 - - is it fixed centrally in gnome-keyring or every application needs to adjust for it18:12
ubottuLaunchpad bug 530605 in ubuntuone-client "gvfs-mount doesn't always work. gvfsd-smb starts using 100% cpu." [Critical,Fix committed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/53060518:12
mandelCardinalFang, that was because in Dallas we eat too much TexMex, I usually smeel better ;)18:12
dobeyrye: i fixed what was causing it to break in ubuntuone. it can probably be fixed by both ends independently18:13
mandelCardinalFang, anyways, what doe thisfred mean with uuids are left hanging there?18:13
ryedobey, hm.. any tiiiny insight about what was wrong?18:13
CardinalFangmandel, I don't know yet.  I think he'll suggest a patch in the next few hours.  That will tell us.18:14
thisfredmandel: so when we remove an item from a mergeable list, we should also remove its uuid key from the _order list18:14
dobeyrye: i guess libgnome-keyring does something with threads now18:14
dobeyrye: so calling it from within a thread would cause the hang18:14
thisfredmandel: I'll have a branch soon18:15
CardinalFangdobey, rye, yes some thread init stuff, iirc.  It seems wonky in a library, if you ask me.18:15
ryedobey, aha, so apps that do not use threads are not affected.. hmm18:15
dobeyCardinalFang: it really shouldn't matter. the breakage just shows that the library doesn't get it right. :)18:16
thisfredok, I guess I'll break for lunch now, and create the branch18:16
mandelthisfred, uh, good catch! let me know when ever you've got the branch18:16
thisfredmandel, CardinalFang: I'm full of shinola: the remove and pop methods go through the API, and remove the uuids correctly. The error we saw on the server may have been because desktopcouch is not at trunk there or something else. The bug is invalid in any case.18:32
CardinalFangthisfred, I'm relieved.  I was pretty sure we handled them, but it was possible you found something else.  :)18:34
thisfredyeah. There still may be, but the code for those two methods looks fine, I should have looked deeper before I reported18:35
CardinalFang(thisfred, "shinola"?  Is Virginia creeping into your vocabulary?)18:35
thisfredCardinalFang: It is dangerously close :)18:35
thisfredvds: by any chance can you reproduce those three lines that gave the remove x error?18:37
vdsthisfred: I can try18:38
thisfredvds: I'd like to see if I can reproduce the error on trunk of d-c18:38
vdsthisfred: yep18:38

thisfredCardinalFang: mandel: i have confirmed my bug report was 100% bogus: The way we managed to break the record was by not using the API at all, which serves us right. No issues (related to this) in desktopcouch exist19:30
mandelthisfred, well, I suppose that are great news... I was wondering what could be the problem since del sel[index] was used19:32
CardinalFangthisfred, rgr.  Thank you.19:32
thisfredThe only improvement I can imagine is making the Record constructor check the dictionary it gets even stricter19:32
thisfredmandel: yeah, you're absolutely right. I totally jumped to the wrong conclusion without looking at the code19:33
CardinalFangthisfred, I like bug reports.  Just a few words will do.19:33
thisfredyeah, I'll need to think about it a bit though. It's definitely not lucid urgent19:33
