I tried xrandr and KDE System Settings, both had the same effect. The screen is stretched horizontally so it does not fit on the monitor. I have a nVidia 3100M card. any suggestions how to fix that?

However, when I come back to unlock it the password dialog never comes up, I can't even move the mouse. The only way to recover from this is to killall -9 kscreenlocker. Any idea what could be going wrong?
