crazybyte | amitk, jjohansen hello! If you remember I tried to ask you in helping me find the cause of some kernel oops in Karmic. Here is the bug report https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/565172 I also tried to use noapic kernel command line option that seems solves the issue (apparently). Any suggestion about this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! | 05:17 |

joaopinto | hello | 13:12 |
joaopinto | was the ext4 barrier set to a default with the last upgrade ? | 13:12 |
* hyperair thought it had always been a default. | 13:54 | |
joaopinto | hum, that is odd I just noticed a major performance decrease recently | 14:02 |
joaopinto | a debootstrap that usually takes 1-5 minutes was taking like 10-20 | 14:02 |
joaopinto | I had to manually force barriers to 0 on fstab | 14:02 |
joaopinto | I don't have this problem with a VM which is using the server kernel | 14:02 |
hyperair | joaopinto: you could cat /proc/mounts on older releases to check | 14:06 |

StallMan | hi all | 23:29 |
StallMan | can i use kernel.ubuntu.com as PPA/repo ? | 23:30 |
melkor | The kernel development seems to have changed recently. Why aren't there any more 2.6.33 versions? | 23:36 |
melkor | Also these distro dependant packages. I can't seem to install because they are missing a file (2/3) so do I have to use the file from a previous release? | 23:38 |
melkor | ie the latest 2.6.34 rc4 installed okay today with only two files, but I already had a 2.6.34 rc 4 installed. | 23:41 |
