=== yofel_ is now known as yofel [05:17] amitk, jjohansen hello! If you remember I tried to ask you in helping me find the cause of some kernel oops in Karmic. Here is the bug report https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/565172 I also tried to use noapic kernel command line option that seems solves the issue (apparently). Any suggestion about this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! [05:17] Malone bug 565172 in linux "BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at f76ff01c" [Undecided,New] [05:29] crazybyte: okay thanks I'll have a look [13:12] hello [13:12] was the ext4 barrier set to a default with the last upgrade ? [13:54] * hyperair thought it had always been a default. [14:02] hum, that is odd I just noticed a major performance decrease recently [14:02] a debootstrap that usually takes 1-5 minutes was taking like 10-20 [14:02] I had to manually force barriers to 0 on fstab [14:02] I don't have this problem with a VM which is using the server kernel [14:06] joaopinto: you could cat /proc/mounts on older releases to check === yofel_ is now known as yofel [23:29] hi all [23:30] can i use kernel.ubuntu.com as PPA/repo ? [23:36] The kernel development seems to have changed recently. Why aren't there any more 2.6.33 versions? [23:38] Also these distro dependant packages. I can't seem to install because they are missing a file (2/3) so do I have to use the file from a previous release? [23:41] ie the latest 2.6.34 rc4 installed okay today with only two files, but I already had a 2.6.34 rc 4 installed.
