markl_hello there, is anyone here familiar with mythflix?  it seems to want to grab some 0.20 dependencies for some reason03:18
superm1it's been scrapped03:54
markl_ah ok that makes sense, ty04:03
nichoshi all, im trying to follow some FAQ's and they talk about "Passthrough output device" i dont see that option, is it gone?05:37
arasuperm1, hello11:51
superm1hi ara what's up14:38
Davieysuperm1: I didn't realise mythplugins built against mysql.. I've readied an upload, same svn checkout (which is still latest).. but not sure if i should upload it or not14:44
DavieyTBH, it wouldn't be the end of the world if it's rebuilt or not.. it will still work14:45
tassburi'm using 10.04 beta 2. The problem is that when i press C to switch to another card, I lost keyboard focus, and nothing else matters ....15:19
tassburWhat's wrong?15:19
arasuperm1, hey, I wanted to ask you if you could send a call for testing for the RC this week15:28
mrandara: what do you mean?  Send a call to where?15:45
aramailing list, i.e.15:45
arain every testing cycle, mythbuntu is always hard to cover15:45
mrandah, I follow you now.15:46
mrandtassbur: I see mention of someone else having that same problem on the mythtv mailing list.  I'll submit an upstream bug on it.  Thanks.15:51
mrandtassbur: I assume switching through the on-screen menu works?15:52
tassburyes15:53
tassburif i press m15:53
tassburthen i can switch between cards15:54
mrandtassbur: ok.  so it's just C or Y which stop working?15:54
superm1Daviey, yeah upload it15:55
superm1ara, yeah will send it, thanks for a reminder15:55
arasuperm1, thanks!15:56
superm1ara, i believe you have a spec about better coverage for derivatives for UDS-m, correct?15:56
tassburyes, C or Y that's right15:56
arasuperm1, yes15:56
superm1ara, great, i'll be sure to be there for it :)15:56
arasuperm1, great :)15:56
tassburmrand: yes, C or I15:57
Davieysuperm1: If we post to mb.org, it'll also hit the planet15:58
Zinn[mb.org] Mortgage Loan Broker MB Organization15:58
Davieyrhpot1991: ^^ we need to fix that :)15:58
superm1Daviey, good call.  there is one bug that needs to be fixed first though...15:59
mrandDaviey, superm1: rhpot1991 is gone for the week15:59
superm1figures15:59
Davieylazy yanks.16:00
mrandAnd he's certainly a yankee. ;-)16:00
DavieyI think we'll need a shared calendar for Maverick cycle, and only be allowed leave if approved.16:03
Davieysuperm1: The "one bug" being the shutdown script vs dbus?16:04
superm1actually there is a worse one than that that i was thinking16:04
superm1when running installer, the last page appears squished16:04
superm1looks a bit ugly16:06
superm1i dunno if it only happens at low rez though16:06
mrandtassbur: Looks like the devs know about it, but are having a hard time reproducing it and/or getting good debugging info. http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/8190 If you have the time and ability to get a backtrace by attaching gdb, it would be greatly helpful.   You can either attach it to that ticket, or open a launchpad ticket and I'll forward it upstream.16:10

steve_Hi, am I right in thinking fsck can be used on ext4?18:33
tgm4883steve_, I don't see why it couldn't?18:44
tgm4883are you seeing that somewhere?18:44
steve_Thanks, no I'm having trouble fscking my mythbuntu sata hard drive.18:47
steve_Using Knoppix live cd e2fsck /dev/sda1 gives filesystem has unsupported features18:50
steve_The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem18:56
mrandext2 filessytem?  Is that a typo on your part, or part of the real message?19:01
steve_I'm using the command e2fsck /dev/sda1 is there a different command for ext4?19:07
tmktsteve any luck with your audio problem?19:20
steve_Sorry, was that aimed at me :-)19:26
tmktyeah19:32
tmktweren't you having this problem also https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/+bug/546552 ?19:32
Zinn[bugs.launchpad.net] Bug #546552 in Mythbuntu: “MythTV is built without H.264 HE-AAC support”19:33
steve_Nope, not me, just a dead hard drive I think!19:35
markl_hello, I am having problems with mythbackend responding very slowly to requests from mythweb20:26
markl_and also it doesn't find anything to record even though i have a ton of things programmed20:26
markl_i hope they are related; is there a good way to diagnose mythbackend's slow response?20:26
tgm4883markl_, anything in the backend log?20:27
markl_no20:27
markl_well, nothing helpful20:27
markl_i started to have mysql dump the sql it is using but that doesn't seem to help20:27
tgm4883what about apache logs?20:27
markl_the weird thing is that the load avg stays at 0, it just takes awhile to respond20:27
markl_nothing in apache logs either20:28
AlfafaHi. Does anyone have an idea about how I can make the the mythbuntu image(i tried 10.04 beta 1 - I am downloading beta2 to see if that would work) boot from usb. The mythbuntu I could just copy the contents of the cd and renamaing isolinux directory to syslinux and renaming the isolinux.cfg to syslinux.cfg (or something like that) and then run syslinux on the usb drive. That won't work with a least 10.04 beta 1...I will lo20:28
Alfafamarkl_: are you doing reverse lookup in apache? for a host which doesn't have dns?20:28
tgm4883Alfafa, why don't you use the usb creator?20:29
Alfafatgm4883: I am not sure right now...it is a moth ago I tried it, I am not sure the usbcreator was on the mythbuntu beta1 livecd?20:30
tgm4883Alfafa, it's not20:30
tgm4883that would be circular logic20:30
tgm4883do you have ubuntu installed somewhere?20:31
Alfafatgm4883: yes20:31
tgm4883what version?20:31
markl_Alfafa: nope, i checked the reversen dns.  it is definitely mythbackend taking its time.  maybe mythbackend does a reverse lookup though, hmm20:31
Alfafatgm4883: I am not sure about how the usb creator actually works. unetbootin is using the same method I did manually, and that doesn't work20:31
tgm4883System > Administration > USB Startup Disk Creator20:31
Alfafatgm4883: I will try and take a look. Do know how it works? Will it just create an usb bootable image of the system it is created on?20:33
* tgm4883 shrugs20:33
tgm4883I haven't looked into how it works20:33
tgm4883I've just used it20:33
Alfafatgm4883: ok..but that won't get me a mythbuntu bootable usb then?20:34
tgm4883it should20:34
tgm4883why wouldn't it? have you tried?20:34
Alfafatgm4883: Ok...I will power up that machine and try it now :-) Because it would create it from the host achine or from an ISO I guess..the problem is the current mythbuntu beta iso's can't be made usb bootable because of the way the boot process is working with symbolic links which are not allowed on fat3220:35
tgm4883what symbolic links are causing issues?20:37
Alfafatgm4883: it is in the root of the iso there is a symbolic link called ubuntu pointing at .20:39
Alfafatgm4883: and there is another one I don't remember right now20:39
Alfafatgm4883: usb startup disk creator is basically just doing the same as I have done manually, so that won't work20:40
Alfafatgm4883: I think the symbolic links is causing the problems20:40
Alfafatgm4883: It make it quite hard to install mythbuntu on a machine without a cd-drive (in this case it's an eeebox)20:42
tgm4883Alfafa, i'll need to download the ISO and check this out20:43
tgm4883superm1, ^20:43
Alfafatgm4883: I am also downloading the beta 2 now to see if something has changed, and also the normal ubuntu beta 2 to see if that is the same(I would believe it is)20:47

chilukSo I'm running  mythbuntu 9.10 with all the myth stuff at version 0.22.0+fixes22594-0ubuntu121:31
chilukand I can't get mythvideo to recurse into the subdirectories of my videos folder.21:32
chilukanyone have a clue what swizzle I need to flip?21:32
chilukor is this fixed in an upstream stable release?21:32
tgm4883chiluk, I would think you need to enable file browse mode21:34
chilukTried that.21:34
chilukI also think I enabled file browse mode21:35
chilukand then enabled scan for new changes.21:35
chilukI guess I'll check again when I get home.21:35
mrandchiluk: it only goes two levels deep also, I think.21:35
chilukah that might be my problem.21:35
chilukit's not showing the folders at all though.21:36
mrandpermission problem maybe?21:36
mrandMine certainly doesn't have trouble displaying directory names21:37
Alfafatgm4883: ok it seems the startup disk creator will work. The resulting files on the usb is not the same as on the iso21:38
Alfafatgm4883: I will try to go that route :-) Thanks for the help21:38
tgm4883Alfafa, yw21:39
KipIngramHi.  I just installed Mythbuntu 10.04 beta 2.  I put some videos in the /var/lib/mythtv/videos directory, but I can't figure out how to "refresh them into" Mythbuntu.  I used to do this from settings, but it seems to have moved.21:46
mrandKipIngram: I believe it is the "Menu" button / (M key) which provides an option to scan for changes from within Mythvideo21:48
KipIngramYes - that worked.  Thank you!21:50
qwebirc10940hmm21:53
superm1tgm4883, oh well i missed him23:55
superm1it works by only copying an ISO to the disk and installing a bootloader23:56
superm1nothing else any fancier than that23:56
