dewmantgm4883, It appears it is. I had a 2 encodings give a exit status 242 but that was with 3 other jobs running..00:06
dewmanactually the commercial flagging worked ok, it was 2 transcoding jobs. So it could be something on that second machine, I haven't checked the logs yet.00:07
dewmantgm4883, duh....I didnt install the codecs....00:17
* dewman slaps self00:17
tgm4883heh00:18
dewmantgm4883, I lied..... No encoding... =(00:48

bkupbkhey guys, is there a fix for bug 459893 without using the webserver as exclusive?00:59
ZinnBug 459893 in mythbuntu "mythweb error "Failed opening required 'modules/_shared/tmpl/tmpl/header.php'"" [Undecided, Confirmed] http://www.launchpad.net/bugs/45989300:59
mrandbkupbk: the comment in that bug by Tim seems to imply if you reconfigure one more time, you can open it back up so it isn't exclusively for mythweb.  If that isn't the case, please comment on that bug.01:19
bkupbkmrand, it doesn't, and since it didn't, I'm not sure if that is my problem.01:29
bkupbkhttp://www.pastebin.org/16660001:32
bkupbklooks like tmpl is listed twice?  other than that, the error is the same.  Not sure where to go from here01:33
bkupbkit was a different bug, mysqld.sock was pointing to a incorrect location in /etc/php5/apache/php.ini01:46
mrandbkupbk: sorry, I'm in and out.  If you can open any other tickets on other bugs, it'd be much appreciated.01:59
ripperdaI'm having some trouble with video playback. I seem to have gotten things into a mixed up state (or forgotten the proper way to do things)03:27
ripperdaI have a backend + 2 frontends (1 frontend on the same system as the backend) + NAS03:27
ripperdatv/recordings are done via storage groups, but I'm trying to do videos via nfs from the NAS03:27
ripperdaI delete all related storage group info from the backend and setup the nfs mounts via the frontend config (under media settings/video settings)03:28
ripperdaI then "scan for changes" in mythvideo. all of the videos appear to show up, but no metadata03:28
ripperdawhen I then try to play a video back, it won't play and mythtv tries to play a dvd03:29
tgm4883ripperda, logs?03:29
ripperdachecking right now03:29
ripperdalet me try again right now to get fresh logs03:30
ripperdaok, would you like me to post abbreviated (remove duplicate output) here?03:32
ripperdait's not too terrible much, so I'll give it go.03:33
ripperdathe backend repeats this quite a bit, looks like it's trying to pull up metadata:03:33

Zinnwhen pasting more than 5 lines of data please use http://mythbuntu.pastebin.com so you don't flood the channel.  Then please post the link in the channel.03:34
ripperdaok, sorry guys03:34
ripperdadoing that now03:34
ripperdahere you do: http://mythbuntu.pastebin.com/ZnYkjJNQ03:36
ripperdasorry about that stupidity03:36
tgm4883thats odd03:37
tgm4883as it is trying to use launch a dvd03:38
tgm4883hmm03:38
tgm4883what version are you running?03:38
ripperdaI have tried using "storage groups" for videos, perhaps the database has stale info?03:38
ripperdathis is .2203:38
ripperda0.22.0+fixes22594-0ubuntu103:39
tgm4883Is it doing that for all videos?03:39
ripperdayes03:39
ripperdatv/recordings use storage groups and work just fine03:39
tgm4883hmm03:39
tgm4883Try to remove the other storage groups (except for recordings)03:40
tgm4883it does appear to be using storage groups for videos03:40
ripperdaok, trying right now03:40
tgm4883err03:40
tgm4883not videos, I mean fanart03:41
ripperdaunderstood03:41
ripperdathe only storage groups I currently have are default, livetv and db backups03:42
tgm4883ok03:42
tgm4883those should be fine03:42
tgm4883ripperda, what happens if you move one of the videos out of the dir, rescan, mover it back in and rescan again?03:46
tgm4883then try playing that video03:46
ripperdawill try that in just a second. double-checking my "backend server" settings in both the back & front ends03:46
ripperdaok, I now definitely notice that some videos will play and some won't. I'll try moving one of the ones that won't play03:49
tgm4883ripperda, ok03:50
tgm4883see if there is a difference between the ones that do and dont work03:50
tgm4883ie, avi vs iso03:50
ripperdaI don't see a difference in file type, but moving the video, rescanning, then putting it back and rescanning allows me to play it03:51
tgm4883strange03:51
ripperdaI suspect there's stale data in the db. I'll move all videos, rescan to flush the db, then move them back and rescan to put them back in03:51
tgm4883I suspect that as well03:51
ripperdabingo, that works03:52
ripperdaI've been playing around with how to store my videos, so I probably got things confused somewhere along the one03:53

mungewellHi, just installed 10.4beta.... can't find the video manager for scaning my video/media files. Where is it or how do I do that? Media listing is currently empty.03:53
tgm4883mungewell, video manager is gone. You can do it directly inmythvdei now03:54
tgm4883mythvideo*03:54
ripperdamungewell, try pressing m in mythtvideo, then select "scan for changes"03:54
ripperdatgm4883, thanks for the help03:54
mungewelltgm4883:  yep.... that did it. Thanks.03:55
tgm4883yw03:56
mungewellthat's bizare... it skipped the porn directory. which is only r/w by my user...... other are group/any r/w.04:00
ripperdais the process running as you or mythtv?04:00
mungewellI'm logged in as me (not mythtv), hang on I'll check.04:01
mungewellfrontend is running as me, backend is running as mythtv04:02
tgm4883mungewell, it would need to be readable my the mythtv group04:03
mungewelleasy enough to fix... thanks.04:03
mungewellnormality has been restored ;-)04:05
com_h1Hi Everyone,  I've got an issue with trying to archive a recorded DVBt program. The recorded program is about 7+GB and I've asked Mytharchive to make a DVD copy with SP profile, Myth thinks it is all good, and finished, but when I look at the disk it has only recorded about 1.4GB of program, only about 23 mins of the 1hr 50min program, any ideas?11:23
qwebirc44292Hi guys16:24
qwebirc44292I would like to know if it's mandatory to have a tv card to be able to watch tv with mythbuntu through our computer??16:24
qwebirc44292thanks in advance!16:25
qwebirc44292for your advices16:25
tgm4883qwebirc44292, usually.16:34
tgm4883qwebirc44292, you can watch some web content, but it isn't exactly seemless16:34
qwebirc44292ok17:04
qwebirc44292thank you :)17:04
dewmanhey tgm4883, did you happen to see that log I dumped yesterday?18:13
tgm4883dewman, nope18:14
dewmanhttp://mythbuntu.pastebin.com/jNPDbp8T18:14
dewmansomewhere in there I think I saw that mythtranscode is unable to transcode remote files18:16
tgm4883dewman, hmm, yea Mythtranscode is currently unable to transcode remote files.18:23
tgm4883dewman, check in #mythtv-users and see what the recommended way to do that is18:23
dewmantgm4883, ok... will do19:38
dewmantgm4883, so the answer is.....In order to do transcoding on a slave backend, the file system needs to be mounted on the slave backend...20:53
tgm4883dewman, so NFS then?20:53
dewmanits not needed for commercial flagging...which explains why the commflagging worked on 3 shows but the encoding didnt..20:53
tgm4883dewman, any plans to add storagegroup/myth protocol to mythtranscode in the future?20:54
dewmanI am guessing NFS. That would be the simplest route.20:55
dewmantgm4883, not sure on that second question. I am far from being DEV status... =)20:55
* tgm4883 wonders how often mythtranscode is used20:56
dewmanyou could always ask the guys in mythtv-users...hehehe20:57
dewmantgm4883, I was being sarcastic...LOL20:58
tgm4883nah, lets just drop it from the distribution20:58
dewmantrue...20:59
dewmanYou know...I havent spent much time with transcoding, but with my 4 way xeon...I imagine I will be playing with it for a little bit.21:00
tgm4883dewman, what you need to be able to do, is send handbrake jobs to that machine21:00
dewmantgm4883, you know...I never thought of that..21:02
dewmanthat is a very good idea..21:02
tgm4883Yea I don't use mythfrontend to rip my dvd's, I do it on my desktop then convert to mkv with handbrake21:02
tgm4883would be nice to be able to send jobs to that machine though21:03
dewmanmy electric company loves it when I turn this beast on...(dl580)21:03
tgm4883I don't think handbrake has that functionality though21:03
dewmanyeah, manual intervention.... would be a long drawn out script to rip the dvd, send to powersuck (the name of my machine) have handbrake encode then send it back...21:06
ubuntujenkinshello I have just seen the rc blog on planet.ubuntu.com but none of the downloads for the rc are working. Thought i should give you a heads up23:30
Zinn[planet.ubuntu.com] Planet Ubuntu23:30
mrandubuntulog: Thanks.  Might be a few hours early.  But if not, I'm sure tgm4883 will take care of it.23:42
tgm4883mrand, yea it's a bit early, I know some of the mirrors are working23:55
