starcraftmanmorning bodhi_zazen16:05
starcraftmanand ibuclaw16:05
ibuclawwelcome back starcraftman16:05
starcraftmantuesdays suck, thursdays are where its at. Had my favourite programming classes that night for two semesters :)16:05
starcraftmanibuclaw: ty, just got back from champions brunch. 3 french toast with grade a maple syrup and 2 beef saussage. Mmmm16:06
ibuclawmaple syrup and meat... haven't had that combination in a while...16:17
bodhi_zazen'lo starcraftman , how goes ?16:41
starcraftmanbodhi_zazen: much better now that stressful semesters over and I got everything sorted.16:41
bodhi_zazensweet =)16:41
starcraftmanwell... except stupid ubuntu 1, it hates me.16:42
hobgoblinhi there starcraftman - good to see you about again :)16:42
LzrdKingwell, i was able to force my ubuntu server box to eventually mount my nfs shares before any apps that try to access them start, but it feels wrong, as i get errors about the mount failing during startup.  I think its apparmor thats calling a mountall which gets called before the wireless network script, so maybe i can call wicd or my own network script as a prereq for apparmor16:43
hobgoblinLzrdKing: I get mountall errors all the time with nfs = once it has booted though all is fine16:44
starcraftmanhobgoblin: ah ha, piskie, why hobgoblin? Inner spiderman fan coming out?16:44
bodhi_zazenbug report ?16:44
hobgoblinthough I rarely see them LzrdKing when plymouth is working (lucid)16:44
hobgoblinstarcraftman: I is mischievous now :)16:44
LzrdKingi just don;t want to see the errors on startup16:44
LzrdKingwhats plymouth?16:44
shahanhello everybody16:45
starcraftmanhobgoblin: only now?16:45
* starcraftman waves to shahan16:45
hobgoblinLzrdKing: all tied up with the boot in lucid - upstart as well I believe16:46
shahanstarcraftman: what?16:46
hobgoblinstarcraftman: not only now - now I say so before I start :)16:46
LzrdKingoh. plymouth is the graphical boot thingy, right?16:46
starcraftmanshahan: just waving hi.16:46
starcraftmanhobgoblin: hehe, lil warning alright. :)16:47
shahanstarcraftman: tnx16:47
shahanstarcraftman: so.. I need some help about video editing16:47
shahanstarcraftman: who can help me?16:47
shahanstarcraftman: in ubuntu 9.1016:48
hobgoblinLzrdKing: yea - but it is more than just the graphics - anyway - what I was saying is that I get mountall errors from nfs - but they are sorted by the time boot has finished16:48
starcraftmanshahan: I dunno, what kind of help? Looking for a program or need in depth guide? I knows some.16:48
LzrdKingi wonder if mine are sorted out before or after the automatic user login; i should test that out16:48
hobgoblinhad the same thing with karmic when it was in alpha - there some bug reports for it16:48
LzrdKinghobgoblin: i won't be going to lucid for a while yet16:48
hobgoblinI think it is before the login16:49
shahanstarcraftman: I am using kdenlinve for editing video16:49
shahanstarcraftman: I was used to Adobe premier in Windows XP16:49
shahanstarcraftman: is there any kdenlive FX facility for kdenlive in ubuntu ?16:50
starcraftmanshahan: just had to reinstall to remember, effects under timeline > video. If your used to premiere, well don't think you'll find any app quite that powerful. Though all ours get the job done usually.16:53
shahanstarcraftman: ok.. let me check16:54
starcraftmanshahan: seen their nice tutorials? http://kdenlive.org/tutorial16:55
shahanstarcraftman: tnx16:55
starcraftmanshahan: np, hehe, back one day and already answering questions once more!16:56
LzrdKinghobgoblin: either way, i don't like seeing errors and i don't like that i have a manual script that calls iwconfig and dhclient, i have info in /etc/network/interfaces, and i have wicd running; i should only need to use one of them16:56
shahanstarcraftman: kdenlive is making problem on ubuntu 9.1017:09
shahanstarcraftman: GNOME17:09
shahanstarcraftman: may be as its a for KDE :(17:09
shahanstarcraftman:  its become Freeze17:10
shahanstarcraftman: which software I can use for .... :)17:10
starcraftmanshahan: hmmm, for the record it shouldn't be problem running kde apps on gnome, installs all the dependencies.17:12
shahanstarcraftman: do u hve any idea?17:12
starcraftmanshahan: Did it only freeze once you started editting? At a particular time?17:12
shahanstarcraftman: no...17:12
shahanstarcraftman:  not in any particular time17:12
shahanstarcraftman: do u use Teamviewer?17:13
shahanstarcraftman: http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx17:13
starcraftmanshahan: I'm not a professional video editor, just done a lil bit on amateur stuff. There's alternatives to kdenlive here > http://linuxappfinder.com/multimedia/videoeditors17:14
shahanstarcraftman: I am not a professional editor too... but I need to make some JPEG file gathered and a audio music, then some FX17:15
starcraftmanshahan: and nope, not used teamviewer. If all you need is quick remote access to pcs you do know there are plenty of free solutions right?17:15
shahanstarcraftman: yes... its free I provided the link17:16
shahanstarcraftman: which soft. is famous for ubuntu remote viewing?17:18
starcraftmanshahan: famous? Hehe, it ain't a rock concert. Lot of folks use vnc protocol, often getting a solution that uses that.  Few listings > http://linuxappfinder.com/internetandnetworking/remoteaccess17:20
shahanstarcraftman: mm17:21
shahanstarcraftman: I think TeamViewer is best17:21
starcraftmanapp finder a nice site for record. Maybe try tightvnc, know a few folks used that.17:21
shahanstarcraftman: it has Windows, Linux, Mac platform17:22
shahanstarcraftman: easy to use17:22
shahanstarcraftman:  let a install it... then let check17:22
shahanstarcraftman: do u wanna test it?17:22
starcraftmanshahan: not really, don't need remote access to any pcs. I'm not too on the go, when I am its all on my notebook.17:23
shahanstarcraftman: I am looking for a guy to test it17:24
starcraftmanshahan: ah well gotta say so, lemme see. I'll go try and install it.17:25
shahanstarcraftman: will u install it now?17:25
shahanstarcraftman: http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx17:26
starcraftmanshahan: sure, takes a few secs. I'll tell ya when ready.17:26

LzrdKinga trillion users!17:32
ibuclawUp from 20 Million when 8.04 was released17:32
starcraftmanshahan: aye, I got it ready. pm me ur id.17:33
ibuclawLzrdKing, have you tried vnc over ssh using a Web Browser as the client ?17:34
LzrdKingibuclaw: no, just a vnc client as a vnc client17:34
ibuclawLzrdKing, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=54165617:34
LzrdKingibuclaw: i don't need to use a webclient :) thanks17:39
LzrdKingibuclaw: is tightvnc special in binding to port 580x as well, or do all vnc servers do that?17:43
ibuclawLzrdKing, afaik - all servers do that by default - but it can be configured otherwise17:43
ibuclawjust as ssh defaults to 22, but can be changed in /etc/ssh/sshd_config17:44
paultagheyya starcraftman17:51

shahanstarcraftman: hmm18:37

shahanstarcraftman: to the users?18:53
shahanstarcraftman: bound?18:53
starcraftmanshahan: liable? No. I can say go read the manual and ignore you. Course I don't do that.18:54
shahanstarcraftman: :-)18:55
dvz-shahan, i prefer rtfm over rtm18:55
starcraftmandvz-: lol18:55
shahandvz-: rtmf? rtm?18:55
shahandvz-: what kind of things these are?18:55
dvz-shahan, those are acronyms for:  rtfm => "Read the F'n Manual" ...and rtm => "Read The Manual"18:56
dvz-shahan, I'm just being silly.18:56
shahandvz-: what is F'n manual?18:57
starcraftmanshahan: hehe, you'll find lots of those around, us NA people are lazy typists :p18:57
dvz-shahan, F'n is vulgar language....I'm not eligible to say it here...o18:57
