erUSULi've did not noticed before but someone asked in #ubuntu. does upstart save fsck logs ? is it its job to begin with ? 11:06
JanCerUSUL: it's certainly not upstart's job to log any program's output, although in some cases upstart .conf files might contain the instructions for logging something (but that's up to who writes those scripts)15:00
erUSULJanC: i ask becouse /var/log/fsck/ seems to not be updated anymore in ubuntu15:00
erUSULjust noticed today becouse someone asked15:01
erUSUL-rw-r----- 1 root adm 195 2009-11-18 15:05 /var/log/fsck/checkroot15:01
JanCerUSUL: so that would be an ubuntu-specific question then (also, maybe it's logged elsewhere?)15:01
erUSULwell upstart is an ubuntu development/project ... that's why i'm asking here. but yes i coud do a bug report against ubuntu. thanks15:02
erUSULtyvm for your time15:02
JanCerUSUL: it's just that I get the feeling that this channel is mostly used by upstart-developers, packagers, or other peopel who want to write their own upstart scripts15:04
erUSULfair enough15:05
JanCerUSUL: I suppose that on Ubuntu fsck during boot is started by mountall (which might not be used by other distros)15:06
erUSULohhh; thanks... then that's the thing i should complain about. much apreciated.15:08
erUSULFWIW it was already reported https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mountall/+bug/51364415:12
erUSULthanks again JanC 15:12
JanCerUSUL: see boot.log 15:12
JanCin /var/log/15:13
