[01:28] honk [02:59] terwillinger hello [04:32] hi [04:33] i got problems after installing ubuntu one [04:33] any help? [04:34] :-( [04:51] hello [05:05] hey duanedesign :) [05:23] hello kermiac [05:24] hello duanedesign :) I'm just going through the bugmail - not much there today... so that's a good thing hehe [05:25] but it is the weekend, I always find it slows down a bit on weekends [05:26] kermiac: i need to go through mine. I have been asking reporters to change their status back to New to help insure i dont miss them [05:27] I spend more time in the New queue. But there are some older bugs I didnt ask them to do this. So i need to review the 'Incomplete with comment' queue [05:27] or my mail to make sure no one slips though the cracks. [05:28] duanedesign: that's a good idea... I just leave my untouched ones as unread so I know to go back to them. I saw another KeyError: 'Incorrect In State' in lucid & I didn't catch rye last night [05:28] to ask him about it [05:28] i cam e across on that was something like Gnomekeyring.IOError [05:29] kermiac: have you ever used bughugger? [05:30] I've used bughugger a couple of times - but only on "staging" cos I didn't want to mess things up whilst playing around with it [05:30] kermiac: ahhh. good idea [05:31] kermiac: i am glad you mentioned that [05:31] it seems like a very powerful & useful tool - especially for finding dupes :) [05:31] yeah, have a play around with it on staging - it's a very good tool :) [05:31] kermiac: i have on my to do list to mess around with bughugger [05:32] I found it takes a long time to initially load the reports after you do a query - to start with I thought it wasn't working [05:32] kermiac: while making the MaverickBugWorkflow wiki page I came across some pages talking about the desktop teams usage of the tool [05:32] kermiac: yes it does [05:32] kermiac: they have it set up where it uses plugins. Makes it easy to customize [05:33] ok, that sounds interesting... do you have the links handy? [05:33] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTeam/Specs/Karmic/BugWorkflow#Implementation [05:34] See how they have the Needs Info, Community, Fix [05:34] buttons [05:34] its easy to add new buttons with custom responses [05:34] * kermiac looks [05:36] yes, those buttons & custom reponses look very interesting :) I haven't seen that before & I think it would be very useful! [05:37] kermiac: recently they combined a few different projects. Used to be called 'pm-dashboard', then the folded it into bughugger [05:38] i have been talking with [d]idrocks recently about my syncing app (stipple) [05:38] ok, I've never heard of "pm-dashboard", bughugger is something I need to look at again :) [05:38] and i noticed he works on the desktop team efforts regarding bughugger. So after UDS i might ask him about what they use. See if he has any tips [05:39] yeah, I read about stipple - I am *very* interested in that app :) [05:39] kermiac: i recenly added the algorithm the desktop team has been developing for Oneconf. [05:40] that improves the package sync [05:40] and we added attachments for the Couch databases. So you can sync your .emacs.d directory along with your .emacs config file [05:41] excellent! sounds like you are making some progress there :) [05:41] I think it would be absolutely awesome to be able to sync all of my configs & list of installed packages/ apps etc :) [05:42] kermiac: definetly. I am excited about it. Also maade it extensible with plugins. This will make it easy to add capabilities to sync different files in the future [05:43] awesome! [05:45] kermiac: i really need to push to get it in the best possible state before UDS. I am hoping it will be mentioned in a few sessions and get good feeedback and possible contributors [05:45] excellent, good luck with it! it sounds like it could be one of those *must have* apps :) [05:46] thanks kermiac :) === matt_ is now known as Guest17229 [09:39] Help, how do I add a new computer to my ubuntu account. I can't find a link anywhere on my account pages [10:06] I've been trying to upload a 24Gb pics/vids folder for about a week now and have only managed to get 480 meg uploaded. My syncdaemon seems to be uploading something at full pace at the moment but my usage stats arent going up. It did this last night for about 6 hours as well without a single file actually being uploaded. My syncdaemon log is just showing the message: ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.Main - NOTE - ---- MARK (state: 'QUEUE_MANAGER' (queues WORKING_ON_CONTENT connection 'With User With Network')>; queues: metadata: 0; content: 11700; hash: 0, fsm-cache: hit=1010934 miss=45317). There are just under 12000 files in the folder structure. Any ideas as to what is being uploaded as my uploaded usage stats aren't changing? [12:12] Anyone succefull in syncing a nokia e72 phone? [12:15] feasty, i know there have been issues with popularity of the service which they're working on but if your daemon isn't doing anything, run `u1sdtool -q; u1sdtool -c` [12:18] Guest17229, what does itsay when you run `u1sdtool -s` [12:53] honk, it's not syncing any files. should i try the ppa? i'm running lucid with proposed package set at the moment [12:55] 2010-05-08 13:55:01,799 - ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.Main - NOTE - ---- MARK (state: ; queues: metadata: 168; content: 893; hash: 0, fsm-cache: hit=66047 miss=1085) ---- === duff is now known as duffydack === cpg is now known as cpg|away [13:46] hello rotten777 [13:46] hey ther [13:46] how goes it [13:46] good. just got back from getting breakfast [13:47] rotten777: havent tried the service today, but yesterday they did a roll out and things seemed to get a bit faster [13:47] danage: hello [13:47] hi duanedesign [13:47] very good.. i'm shopping for some more music so hopefully it'll deploy a little faster [13:48] gwibber, u1ms, u1 50gb plan, and the new default style for 10.04 has been making my life so much easier and more interesting [13:48] most of that isn't working here :( [13:48] danage: could you try running the command: u1sdtool -d; u1sdtool -q; u1sdtool -c [13:48] i'm very satisfied and excited about the growth in ubuntu from this [13:49] rotten777: me too [13:49] rotten777: they have some neat stuff planned [13:49] rotten777: there has been talk of integrating zoho into ubunntuoe [13:49] its like a goolgle docs type of service [13:50] google* [13:50] i'm on another computer, i think i need to reinstall ubuntuone here first. it won't let me connect at the moment [13:51] danage: after running the command above give it a minute and run u1sdtool -s [13:51] duanedesign, that should be interesting. is zoho all gpl? [13:52] rotten777: i think so. the package is called webservice-office-zoho [13:53] danage: do you have anything in this file: ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon-exceptions.log [13:54] you can paste multilines of test at http://paste.ubuntu.com [13:54] setting up... reporting back soon [13:54] i need to remove some legacy packages from an older ppa install it seems [13:55] duanedesign, who is designing the u1ms? 7digital or a maintainer? [13:56] Can i get notification back in U1? I want it to notify when its completeda sync....rather than me having to open the client. [13:57] duffydack: i have a script that tells you via notifications the output of u1sdtool -s [13:58] probably the closest thing to getting the notifications [14:03] duanedesign: the file you asked does not exist. State: QUEUE_MANAGER, With User With Network, description: processing queues, is_connected: True, is_error: False, is_online: True, queues: WORKING_ON_BOTH [14:04] however the file i'm trying to sync has the sync error symbol on it [14:05] danage: the status looks good [14:05] it is working on the file [14:05] why does the file have the exclamation mark symbol then? also, the file is pretty tiny [14:15] danage: what u1sdtool -s say now? [14:17] same thing, still [14:17] perhaps it's just my impatience. [14:18] danage: seems like it is working on the file. They have been imiproving the speed. The spike in users from the new release slowed things down a bit [14:22] i get network transfer of around 200bps, that's slower than in the olden days! [14:42] duanedesign: it seems you were right. it just takes a VERY long time, i apologize for spamming [14:52] danage: no harm no foul :) === gep is now known as gourgi1 [16:18] honk [16:24] terwilliger, hi! [16:25] Hi, Rye [16:25] Quick question: do we have any idea when syncing of contacts for Evolution will be back on line? [16:29] rye: me and kermiac had a question about a couple bugs we saw. "I saw another KeyError: 'Incorrect In State' in lucid & I didn't catch rye last night" [16:35] terwilliger, while the question is quick the answer is not that quick - the code to distribute the load is ready. The earliest rollout is this Tuesday but we have not yet tested that [16:35] OK...just needed a rough time-line [16:35] duanedesign, incorrect in state - during file editing in ~/Ubuntu One ? [16:38] terwilliger, the code will be submitted for review on Monday, some tests will need to be performed on the staging environment and then couchdb sharding can go live. With couchdb sharding in place the replication restriction can be lifted [16:38] :-/ [16:38] duanedesign, i believe this is bug #567953 [16:38] Launchpad bug 567953 in ubuntuone-client "ValueError: Incorrect out state when files are edited in Ubuntu One directory" [High,Fix committed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/567953 [16:38] duanedesign, the fix for this will go to SRU [16:39] aha this was one of the bugs. bug 574907 [16:39] Launchpad bug 574907 in ubuntuone-client "Ubuntone not downloading filies." [16:56] Six6siX, what issues do you experience? [16:57] im trying to sync my mobile device for the first time,, (windows mobile) HTC HD2 it sends the contacts 8/86 and stalls [16:57] on my laptop, going to the website.. and the website freezes [17:01] contacts [17:03] Six6siX, are you able to go to /notes/ page? [18:03] rye, yes it is working now.. thank you [18:20] hello there. I'm running ubuntu 9.04. I just installed Ubuntu one but the app does not start. I just seems to freeze for some seconds and then fades away. Any hints on how can I fix this? [18:25] anyone? [18:31] what app? [18:32] the ubuntuone app [18:32] do you have anything in your system tray? [18:32] I mean, I followed the installation tutorial here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuOne/Tutorials/Install [18:32] BobPenguin, i highly recommend you to upgrade to ubuntu 10.04 since there were a lot of issues with 9.04 release [18:33] and 10.04 is light years better than 9.04 [18:33] off to get some food... cheers [18:34] Thanks rye. Everytime I update my box my system breaks and I have to do a clean Install of everything, and that takes time. Is there any way I can upgrade and be sure my system will not break? === cpg|away is now known as cpg [18:57] cant bring up the U1 client for some reason.. just done some phone contact sync`n, nice, very nice..
