storrgieI have a networking issue, is anyone a network guru in here? this one may be hard to spot00:19
chrismsnzdrop it in here, if someone can help they'll pipe up :)00:20
dominicdinadastorrgie: still breaking stuff ? i might be able to help00:20
storrgieyeah this is the same ongoing issue00:20
storrgieI'm not exactly sure what it is or how it may be related to things00:20
storrgieI would draw you a picture if i could00:20
storrgielet me explain my network00:20
dominicdinadaok00:21
storrgiegateway is a U-Verse modem00:21
dominicdinadaok00:21
storrgiewired directly into a WRT54GL router00:21
storrgiethat router does everything00:21
dominicdinadai got one of them00:21
storrgiethe modem doesnt do junk00:21
storrgieso behind that router we have various machines00:21
storrgieimportant one is a server00:21
storrgiebig rig00:21
storrgierunning ubuntu 10.0400:21
dominicdinadaWhy have the mrt54gl then ?00:21
dominicdinadawrt54gl uverse router is all in one00:22
storrgieno the U-verse modem doesnt do anything00:22
storrgienoo00:22
storrgiethe WRT54G is a router00:22
storrgiethe Uverse 2wire thing is our modem00:22
dominicdinadayes the hg 3800 is a router/modem i have one :/ but continue00:22
storrgiealright00:22
storrgieso00:22
storrgiei made a change00:23
storrgiei moved all linux machines to 10.0400:23
storrgiethats four laptops, my server and one desktop00:23
storrgiemy main laptop00:23
storrgiei use pidgin on it00:23
storrgieim using it right now to talk to you00:23
storrgiei use it for IRC/Gtalk/AIM/etc00:23
dominicdinadaoik00:23
storrgiealright so00:24
storrgieafter the change i tried something new00:24
storrgiethe server00:24
storrgieour fileserver00:24
storrgiei set up KVM on it00:24
storrgieusing bridged networking00:24
storrgiei started up a bunch of VMs00:24
storrgieso it appears00:25
storrgiewhen I have VMs running00:25
storrgieon the server00:25
storrgiemy laptop00:25
storrgiewhich is completely seperate00:25
storrgiearbitrarily drops connections to gtalk/aim/irc00:25
storrgiebut only when the VMs are really talking00:25
storrgielike one of them00:25
storrgiei put transmission-daemon on00:25
storrgieif transmission-daemon is running00:26
storrgiepoof i drop connections on my laptop like crazy00:26
dominicdinadaI am not sure of this one... :(00:27
storrgieyeah00:27
storrgiei am super confused00:27
dominicdinadacould be that either the machines change something in your network settings or that there is alot of traffic and it keeps flooding you off00:28
storrgieyeah i think its the traffic thing00:29
storrgiei am sniffing right now00:29
storrgieI see a TON of traffic like this:00:31
storrgiehttp://pastebin.com/GjFHtEk600:31
storrgieit seems to be taking place between my router and a windows machine on the network00:31
storrgiethe only windows machine00:31
dominicdinadacan you output more of it...00:32
dominicdinadayour using wireshark right ?00:33
storrgieyep00:33
storrgiehttp://imgur.com/rZlk100:34

dominicdinadaCisco  --- Liteon00:36
storrgiecisco is the router00:36
storrgieliteon is my roomates silly dell running windows 700:36
storrgiehow do i check for network loops00:36
storrgiemaybe STP is hurting me00:36
dominicdinadanetwork loops would be in the network configuration but maybe he is running filesharing00:37
storrgiei doubt he is, but either way thats a lot of traffic00:39
storrgienot sure how  to stop it00:39
dominicdinadayou could also check both routers configuration if he is port forwarding it to run a different application maybe00:39
storrgiethe windows machine?00:40
dominicdinadayes whatever liteon represents lol ( only knows liteon as cd/dvd burners )00:41

dominicdinadahttp://ckp.made-it.com/ieee8022.html00:43
storrgiedominicdinada: i just dont know what to do00:44
dominicdinadabut it doesnt describe why it is flooding the windows machine, is that connectivity off and on also ?00:44
storrgieyeah00:44
storrgieoff and on00:44
dominicdinadaand if you turn off the transmission daemon what happens ?00:45
storrgiestability... it appears00:46

dominicdinadawell is there a setting to specify the address that you want to use the transmission daemon ewith00:47
egsomei'm going to open a small programming office, How can i benefit of the Ubuntu Server Cloud technology in that environment ( about 4 PCs connected with Ubuntu Server by LAN ) ?00:48
dominicdinadaBecause this is all traffic from your router so it is not the machine that is running transmission daemon unless it is sending requests for other clients/servers00:48
egsomeanyone can help ?00:52
dominicdinadaI have not worked with cloud as of yet00:52
dominicdinada!cloud | egsome00:52
dominicdinada!server00:53
ubottuUbuntu Server Edition is a release of Ubuntu designed especially for server environments, including a server specific !kernel and no !GUI. The install CD contains many server applications. Current !LTS version is !Lucid (Lucid Lynx 10.04) - More info: http://www.ubuntu.com/products/whatisubuntu/serveredition - Guide: https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/serverguide/C/ - Support in #ubuntu-server00:53
dominicdinadaegsome: http://www.ubuntu.com/cloud00:53
egsomeat all, with cloud in ubuntu server i can get for example ( low spec. PCs ) and let them work with the cloud ( that is installed on a very high spec. PC ) , Right ?00:54
dominicdinadaas i assumed it uses free resources for other machines but in a tiny office i dont see the gains unless you are using CAD or Video editing not just IDE's00:55
dominicdinadafrom what i know it shares resources and well simple text, ide's are not intensive to begin with00:56
dominicdinadalike i said before graphics, cadding, video editing and so on would gain from it but dont rely on what i say00:57
dominicdinadawhen i think of cloud, i think more of server farms that are not efficently using the processors and or load balancing00:57
egsomedominicdinada, thanks anyway, and i think that you're right00:58
egsomedominicdinada, anyway i were thinking in ways to make the PCs less in spec. and for sure suitable for programming00:58
dominicdinadaegsome: like i said get a second opinion but from text book in my networking classes........ i dont see a gain other than centeralizing files00:59
dominicdinadaegsome: I hate to say it but a descent PC/Laptop etc you can get for a few hundred hell you can even develop on netbooks01:00
egsomedominicdinada, yeah that's right, but the screen size would be so hard, so i think about a desktop pc for each programmer01:01
dominicdinadatrue :P01:01
egsomedominicdinada, i thought today about mainframes :), i see it would be useful in my case, one big computer do all the job, and some screens and KBs and Mouses .. no more :)01:02
dominicdinadayes01:05
dominicdinadathat would work build a good server and then you can do that01:05
dominicdinada1 server 4 TB 16 Gigs ram.... but then your already paying more for the server than 4 brand new mid grade pc's  again unless your makinggames, video blah blah :P01:06
dominicdinadai forgot games before and top end gamming machine cost a few grand01:07
slipperychicken"HostRAID" = fake raid, yes ?01:27
slipperychickenthis supermicro board is giving me "adaptec raid" and "intel raid"01:28
ChmEarlslipperychicken, #dmraid -r    (to expose fakeraid)01:28
slipperychickenon boot with adaptec, it's posting with "HostRAID - ICH10R"01:28
slipperychickenbooting...01:28
ChmEarlich10r is fakeraid via northbridge01:29
slipperychickenso with this DMRAID command, it'll tell me whether or not it's a real raid controller ?01:30
slipperychickenps: this whole raid-trickery is silly, imho.01:30
ChmEarlit tells what fakeraid metadata is there01:30
slipperychickenso miss leading.01:30
slipperychickenaight.01:30
ChmEarlunless you setup ich10r raid bios, there should be none01:30
ChmEarlslipperychicken, I got ich5r metadata to work with an upgrade to ich10r before01:32
ChmEarlmoved some drives from a p4 mboard to a C2Duo01:33
slipperychickenhrm, there is no OS installed, just booting from the 10.04 server iso.01:33
slipperychickendmraid isn't in the installation.01:33
slipperychickenwould using the irc10r raid be better than an MD software raid ?01:34
slipperychickeneasier to recover from a disaster i'm guessing ?01:34
ChmEarlslipperychicken, if you don't want ich10r keep going, but if you do then start over and setup the raid bios01:34
slipperychickenwhats are the pros of using ICH10R vs MDraid ?01:35
slipperychickenor cons.01:35
slipperychickenyou would need a ICH10R raid controller to read the raid if the server blew up, yes /01:36
ChmEarlif you are going to co-locate the box and didn;t have access, then fakeraid is trouble01:37
slipperychickenthat's what's going to happen. :)01:37
slipperychickenit's going to a data centre in about 3 days.01:37
slipperychicken24x7 biometric access.01:37
ChmEarlslipperychicken, if your OS and boot partition will go on raid, then don't use fakeraid01:38
slipperychickenMD raid it is. :)01:38
ChmEarlslipperychicken, data on fakeraid is OK01:38
slipperychickenthx mate.01:38
slipperychickenthat's what i'm reading.01:38

_Snarkok. I have a ubuntu server softraid setup with LVM. All is fine. Until I get to the grub install, wherein it critically fails. I have 2 disks mirrored in softraid. any pointers? :|04:45
_Snarki have a bios/grub partition on sda seperate to the raid/lvm volumes04:46
_ruben/boot can live on softraid just fine, grub just doesnt handle it being on lvm (lilo does afaik)04:47
_rubennot sure if grub2 changes any of that04:47
enav_Snark im not expert but maybe here is the answer to your problem http://is.gd/c59jt04:48
_Snarkwell, i'm not using grub2, just grub1, and yeah04:48
_Snarkgrub-installer just reports "wrong number of args: mapdevfs <path>"04:50
_Snarkwhen i try and run it manually on md004:50
_Snarkthis is 10.04 LTS, btw04:51
_rubeni always use the grub command to install it onto a sw raid .. and i thought 10.04 used grub2?04:51
_Snarkand this is after completely giving up on getting 10.04 running on this machine with fakeraid :|04:51
_Snarkit can use either i thought?04:51
_Snarkbut i could be wrong.04:51
_Snark*could04:51
_rubenhttp://paste.ubuntu.com/432025/ <-- my notes on installing grub1 on sw raid "manually"04:53
_Snarkregardless which it is, it isn't happy, and none of the error messages / logs report anything useful as a result of the "critical failure"04:54
_Snarki don't have grub normal available.. i don't think04:55
_Snarkthis is during the 10.04 guided install04:55
_Snarki've just switched to a new terminal to mess about on cli in the hopes i can trick the thing into working :|04:55
_Snarki have grub-installer and that's it from the looks04:56
_rubenassuming grub1, you should be able to chroot into the installed system and run grub from there04:56
_rubenhow to do this trick with grub2 i dont know (yet)04:57
_Snarkboth grub1 and grub2 seem to be available on the disk, still nfi which is attempting to be used though04:58
_Snark*install CD that is04:58
_rubeni think grub2 is used by default on the recent versions04:59
_Snarkmain partition is mounted under /target it seems.. aaaand there isn't much there.04:59
_Snarkcan't get the grub-installer script to return anything bar the "wrong number of args" message either05:00
_Snarkle sigh.05:00
_Snarkit seems like this shouldn't be such a struggle.05:00
_rubenodd, it should be containing the installed system indeed05:00
_rubeni dont even recall the last time i had issues with grub (be it 1 or 2) .. i just make sure /boot always is either a plain partition or 'simple' sw raid volume, and put the rest on lvm .. has worked like a charm for me thusfar05:01
_Snarki have /boot on a small ext4 partition on sda05:15
_Snarkgrub is still critically failing while attempting to install05:15
_Snarkand giving no indication as to why05:16
_Snarkso far 10.04 has made me want to shoot myself in the face :|05:16
twbThat's a feature05:18
twbBut I wouldn't use ext4 for /boot...05:19
_Snarkguess it stops people from running off to use other distros :p05:19
_Snarkwell, i am not married to anything, and low on knowledge, i'm not used to having to faff about anywhere near this much when installing any distro05:20
trimetaI screwed up my grub when upgrading to Lucid; I forgot to mount my /boot partition during the upgrade, so the new kernel got put onto the main volume (which is a logical volume in a physical volume in a RAID5...it's slightly complicated); when I moved the kernel back to the dedicated root partition (which itself is a RAID1, but that isn't as important), it screwed up the boot.05:30
trimetaIf I run it with a liveCD, how much work will it be to tell Grub where the kernel is now? Just rerunning update-grub or something?05:30
twbDepends how stupid grub is these days.05:32
twbYou used to be able to fake your way through it by just installing grub into the MBR manually.05:32
trimetaIt's using grub2 now.05:32
twbPrecisely05:32
IpWnedladies and gents, I'm running a dedicated server on Karmic, it has 2 internal HDs and I can't get the second HD to work if my life depended on it. Badly enough, as soon as that second HD has a partition on it I can't remote boot that server again. Anyone willing to help me out with this?07:46
twbIpWned: is it listed in /proc/partitions?07:49
IpWnedit is yes07:50
twbOK, so it's working.07:50

IpWnedbut as soon as i run fdisk and partition07:50

IpWnedthe server won't boot to the point where SSH loads anymore07:51
IpWnednope only sda07:51
IpWnedsdb is pristine-empty07:51
twbThese are SATA disks?07:52
IpWnedoddly enough, once a partition is present on sdb, the only way i get to boot far enough to get SSH is to completely destroy sdb's mbr using dd command07:52
IpWnedyes SATA07:52
IpWnedi should mention it's a remote server07:52
IpWnedso I don't see any screen output once the partition is present07:53
twbOK, I hypothesize that what you consider to be the "first" disk is actually plugged into the second port on the motherboard.07:53
IpWnedthat's down the line I was thinking07:53
twbYour BIOS is "helpfully" swapping them around in software when it discovers that there's no partition table on the first disk07:53
twbI have had *lots* of problems along those lines with remote C4/grub1 SATA deployments.07:53
IpWnedsighs. nuthin but trouble with server.lu07:53
IpWnedit sounds reasonable07:54
IpWnedonly thing i can imagine at this point07:54
IpWnedthe drive seems to work fine if I format and mount it in a running session07:54
twbWhat you want to do is either 1) have the local monkey swap the cables; and/or 2) ensure that there's a boot path from either disk07:54
IpWneduhm .lu tickets are infamous for taking 5 days lol07:54
IpWnedhow would i go about putting a boot path on the second drive07:55

xperiathe thing is it is allways the first time. on the second run it is very fast but okay it looks like all the problems are related to usb113:51
Omahnxperia: Second time the meta data will be cached and so it doesn't need to go over the USB interface.13:52
xperiaOmahn: ahhh okay thanks for the info. well need in this case usb2 at least13:52
Omahnxperia: No problem at all. If possible it might be worth purchasing a USB2 interface card, they're relatively cheap.13:53
xperiaohhh did not know that. have to search in ebay then. on the otherside have to look if i have any free slots.13:54
Omahnxperia: Ah, yes, you will be a little stuck if you don't have any slots :-)13:55
xperiaOmahn: have done some transfer tests with hdparm on this usb disk13:57
xperiawhat do you think about this values13:57

xperia Timing buffered disk reads:    4 MB in  3.92 seconds =   1.02 MB/sec"13:57
xperiaso it is 1 MB per second13:57
Omahnxperia: Yep, that's about right for USB1.13:57
xperiabad bad bad13:58
Omahnxperia: Yeah, only useful for mice and keyboard really.13:58
xperiayeah indeed. have pluged in a 1 TB USB DIsk and have to save a lot of Videos on this Disk over Internet13:58
Omahnxperia: Wikipedia says USB1 is capable of a maximum 1.43MB/s, with overheads 1.02MB/s is probably the quickest it will go.13:59
xperiaOmahn: thank you a lot for your Help. Got more wise now13:59

ruben23right..?17:31
RoyK^cipher42: don't use it17:31
cipher42right17:32
RoyK^btrfs is far from stable17:32
RoyK^use zfs if you need that functionality17:32
cipher42want to use it so bad...17:32
RoyK^either with fuse or on fbsd or osol17:32
cipher42it gets updated with kernal updates right?17:32
RoyK^yes, and you can update it manually17:32
RoyK^if you want to play with it, make sure you backup your data17:33
cipher42i read people are having good results with it17:34
RoyK^sure, but it's not stable17:34
RoyK^so it's like playing with matches and petrol - might work well17:34
cipher42can i change from ext4 to btrfs later?17:35
RoyK^yes17:35
cipher42it will convert the whole fs for me?17:35
RoyK^btrfs has an upgrade path for that17:35

RoyK^and keep the ext4 (or perhaps just ext3, don't remember) as a snapshot17:35

RoyK^or simply boot into single17:47

cipher42how do i remove splash and how do i boot into single user mode?17:48
RoyK^you can choose single from the grub menu17:48
RoyK^'recovery mode'17:48
RoyK^if you're using grub1, which I guess since you've upgraded, not installed 10.04, remove 'splash' from the kernel line in /boot/grub/menu.lst17:49
RoyK^and it looks to me you're not very familiar with linux, so I suggest you try out btrfs on something else than your root partition17:49

cipher42i really wanna try it..17:52
RoyK^anyway - try it on something != your root fs17:52
RoyK^or on a test system17:52
RoyK^you may of course use it in production, but I don't think your boss will like it when your data disappears17:53
cipher42i keep all my important stuff on a different drive17:53
RoyK^or the entire filesystem17:53
RoyK^ok17:53

kpettitshrini, no I was suggesting you use SSH to mount filesystems instead of using NFS.  You can use SSH to mount filessystems just like NFS or SMB.18:33
RoyKwhy not nfs?18:33
kpettitYou can do it right through the Ubuntu file explorer.18:33
RoyKwe have a rather large unix environment at work and we only use nfs18:33
kpettitEase of use.  I like NFS, but for fast and easy ssh already exists and requires no real setup.18:34
shrinikpettit: speeed on shfs?18:34
RoyKiirc it uses fuse, so both fuse and ssh will give a little overhead, but probably not a whole lot18:34
kpettitNFS is faster for lots of small files.  Transfering big files and stuff it's about the same.  But it wouldnt' be good for a webserver, but it's OK for office documents and ISO images,etc...18:35
RoyKshrini: use -o tcp with nfs18:35
shriniRoyK: i use tcp in /etc/fstab18:35

aoeuhtnsI've had mdadm drop a disk from a mirror once, but I stuck it back in, it reassembled, and (apparently) there were no other issues20:57
thesheff17yea I must have gotten a lot of bad hard drives from western digital....I replaced 3 of them already....out of 4 in a RAID520:57
alvinExpensive raid cards have never given me trouble. Cheap ones fail.20:58
enavthesheff17: dude western digital  is the sh***20:58
thesheff17the last time I had it running I did an ls in a directory and it gave me an I/O error...rebooted and was never able to assemble the raid array again20:58
alvinThe RAID0 was meant to speed up disk I/O for virtual machines20:58
thesheff17very frustrating20:58
alvinZRAID is ways better. One day we'll have something like that I imagine.20:59
thesheff17yea that is why I try to avoid mdadm unless I'm running RAID1 only20:59
Italian_Plumberthesheff17: I'm not sure you and I are having the same problem...21:00
alvinHmm, I can find more similar bug reports on Launchpad. Lots of Lucid21:01
Italian_Plumberthesheff17: what makes you say that my drive is in perfect workingn order?21:09
thesheff17I didn't say that21:09
thesheff17I would replace the drive21:10
Italian_Plumberoh... you're right... my bad. :)21:10
alvinI said my drive was in perfect working order. (it is. I just started some virtual machines from it)21:11
alvinNow, on another machine I want to install libvirt-bin, but not autostart it because it leaks memory. How can I do this with the new init system?21:12
enavis a good idea to implant a web server inside a virtualbox machine????21:12
alvinenav: If it doesn't need heavy I/O (most web servers don't), yes.21:13
alvinAh, virtualbox21:13
alvinI thought virtualisation in general21:13
alvinVirtualbox, while a great product, is more meant for what is called 'desktop virtualisation'21:14
alvinUbuntu supports kvm and that cloud thing21:14
enavactually im running my first Web server inside a virtualmachine on my desktop and runs pretty well.. but i need to do some stress test to decide if i'm going  to place the final server inside a Virrtualmachine or a real one21:15
thesheff17alvin what version of ubuntu?  I use update-rc.d to machine init scripts21:24
thesheff17enav: yes I have tons of web servers in virtual machines21:25
alvinthesheff17: lucid21:25
alvinThat doesn't work on upstart scripts, does it?21:26
thesheff17I don't think so21:26
thesheff17update-rc.d libvirt-bin remove21:26
thesheff17it has something about can't remove try w/ -f to force it21:27
thesheff17is upstart replacing init scripts?21:27
enavthesheff17  everything works like a charm???... i thin run a web server inside a virtualmachine  is pretty flexible idea... btw i'm a real noob so i cant  make a good affirmation about webservers and virtualmachines under desktop environments21:27
alvinyes21:27
thesheff17hehe I have apache2/tomcat/jboss all running in a virtual machine env w/ kvm21:28
thesheff17for my company21:28
thesheff17for staging env21:28
thesheff17even my mysql failover machine is running inside a kvm.21:29
thesheff17for production21:29
thesheff17alvin: ug well I have millions of scripts that use /etc/init.d/21:29
enavthesheff17 that sounds really cool for me21:30
alvinthesheff17: Yes. I believe it is the intension that they should be replaced21:30
enavthesheff17 i have 5 weeks to take the final decision21:30
alvins/intension/intention21:30
thesheff17yea I have been running kvm since 9.04 and have a bunch of 9.10 all running 8.04 LTS inside them21:34
thesheff17now need to start testing Eucalyptus all w/ 10.0421:34
thesheff17has anyone ran squid in front of apache ?21:44
jfb_h2ohello, I was accidentally disconnected from ssh while doing apt-get upgrade, now I get a problem because I can get a lock21:49
jfb_h2oany ideas on how to deal with this?21:49
jfb_h2ois it safe to remove /var/cache/apt/archives/lock21:51
dominicdinadaNeed help with setting my wireless into master mode22:19
Technovikinggetting this error install Simpana backup software from CommVault Installing startup scripts in /etc/init.d ...FAILED. in Ubuntu 10.0422:20
Technovikingis there a way yo make 10.04 work with programs needing /etc/init.d still?22:20
ahasenackis https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-on-ec2/+archive/ppa abandoned? There are no karmic or lucid packages22:22
ahasenackI need a newer version because the current one in lucid doesn't recognize the ap-southeast-1 region22:22
dominicdinadasudo echo zd1211rw >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf22:23
dominicdinada-bash: /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf: Permission denied22:23
dominicdinadadiabolical@diabolical-fs:/etc/modprobe.d$22:23
dominicdinadahow the heck can it fail with permission denied when im logged in under root22:24
ahasenackif you mean that sudo bit, actually only the echo command is being run as root22:24
ahasenacknot the redirection22:25
dominicdinadaok how should i add it to blacklist then?22:26
erichammondahasenack: This is slightly more up to date (for Karmic, but still no Lucid): https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-on-ec2/+archive/ec2-tools?field.series_filter=karmic22:26
erichammondahasenack: smoser is the right person to ask22:26
ahasenackerichammond: thanks22:27
ahasenacklatest version is 4995322:27
ahasenack(ami-tools)22:27
smoserahasenack, the version in lucid is latest "publically released" version22:29
smoserso that ppa doesn't have anything newer22:30
ahasenacksmoser: I got 49953 from http://developer.amazonwebservices.com/connect/entry!default.jspa?categoryID=88&externalID=368&fromSearchPage=true22:30
ahasenacksmoser: and then was able to upload a bundle to the ap region22:30
smoserthere is a more recent "enable ap-southeast-1" version that i just discovered tonight.22:30
ahasenacksmoser: I don't know which version started supporting this region, though22:30
erichammondsmoser: What should people running Hardy or Karmic do to use the latest AMI tools?22:31
dominicdinadahttps://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/MasterMode i got the driver and blacklisted the zd1211rw but any other instructions send me to pages dont exist what am i missing22:31
smoserSupport for EC2 API version 2009-10-31: Amazon EC2 in the Northern California Region (us-west-1)22:32
smoserbasically, i was unaware of that until tonight.22:32
smoserthey dont "release" anything in any sane mechanism22:32
smoserone just has to notice that the url is different.22:33
smoserso anwyay22:33
smoserwe'll get those packaged and into the backports ppa for hardy, karmic, lucid22:33
smoserahasenack, what exactly are you trying to do that doesn't work ?22:33
smoseri think only migrate image ends up needing it22:33
erichammondI think I recently migrated AMIs to ap-southeast-1 using the current ec2-ami-tools in Karmic.22:37
smosererichammond, i dont think that would work. but i could be wrog.22:39
smoseri basically gave up on migrate image22:39
erichammondsmoser: I would have been using Amazon's Fedora 8 kernels.22:39
erichammondsmoser: In one of Amazon's ami-tools releases they changed migrate to do good guessing at the AKI+ARI based on the bucket/key names.22:41
