DrKenobihi, I am learning to triage. I've found a bug for 9.10. In this case, you have to invalidate?03:13
nigelbabuDrKenobi: No, it is still a supported release.  Is the bug reproducible on 10.04?03:17
DrKenobino, its ok now03:17
nigelbabumeaning its fixed now?03:18
DrKenobii think so. It about a screensaver, that when is activated the mouse doesn't work. I activate that screesaver and when i move the mouse the unlock window appears. I think its fixed, am i wrong?03:19
nigelbabuIn that case, you can mark it as fix released and say this bug has been fixed in the latest release03:21
DrKenobithanks!03:22
nigelbabuNo problem :)03:22
DrKenobii found a bug report from 8.10, that obsolete? I have to change the satus to invalid?04:11
ddecatordepends what package the bug is filed against. if it's something still in a supported release, it'd be helpful to see if it is still a problem in more recent releases04:12
DrKenobihttps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/36380904:12
ubot4Launchpad bug 363809 in ubuntu "freshly installed system's update manager says "your system is up to date (heat: 2)" [Undecided,New]04:12
DrKenobii think it's not a bug anymore... i think04:13
ddecatoryah, i think it's fixed, i just launched update manager and it automatically found updates instead of me having to force it to. i think it's safe to mark that as either invalid or fix released since it doesn't appear to be a problem in lucid, then leave a note saying why you closed it and that someone can reopen it if it's still a problem in a supported release04:17
DrKenobiok, than u04:17
ddecatorno problem =)04:18
DrKenobii am not very good with english, this is a joke? https://bugs.launchpad.net/werehaus/+bug/58030605:16
ubot4Launchpad bug 580306 in werehaus "Livingroom light is dim (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Undecided,Fix committed]05:16
charlie-tcaThis looks like spam, actually05:33
charlie-tcaBut it is not an ubuntu bug, so it is okay05:33
charlie-tcaThe package affected is 'Werehaus' which is not used by Ubuntu at all05:34
charlie-tcaMore information can be found by left-clicking the package under 'Affects', then click 'overview'. It will explain about the package.05:36
ddecatorthat's an...interesting experiment06:21
nigelbabucharlie-tca: its not in the ubuntu project anyway06:23
ddecatornigelbabu: right06:24
charlie-tcanigelbabu: yeah, I know.06:24
charlie-tcaI even said that above06:24
charlie-tcaddecator: I thought so too06:25
nigelbabuoh yeah, I didn't see that06:25
charlie-tcano problem06:25
charlie-tcaI miss half of what is there, too06:25
nigelbabuhaha, the description of the project "This is an experiment to see if Launchpad can effectively be used a an issue tracking system for a shared living space."06:25
ddecatornigelbabu: exactly, haha06:26
nigelbabuddecator: it sounds like a fun experiment06:27
ddecatornigelbabu: potentially, although i'm not sure why they would use bug reports to keep track of to-do items, haha, i guess so they can assign eachother and mark when they took care of it?06:28
charlie-tcaThat's what it looks like06:28
nigelbabuyeah, actually what they want it an rt06:28
anotengAnybody know how to make a source package from a kernel git checkout? I'm bisecting a bug, an compiling on my ancient computer takes forever...07:26

bullgard_Chatzilla 0.9.85 crashes about once a day even if I do not touch keyboard or touchpad. It makes seamonkey to crash as well. So far I did not manage to fetch an error message. Is it a good idea to investigate further using '~$ strace -e trace=open seamonkey'?08:29
thekornbullgard_, hallo, did you report a bug about this issue?09:13
thekornok, you did ;)09:14
thekornbug 57738409:15
ubot4Launchpad bug 577384 in seamonkey (Ubuntu) "Seamonkey and Chatzilla crashed without any user interaction (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/57738409:15
thekornbullgard_, I thin it's a good idea to check ~/.xsession-errors and ~/.xsession-errors.old after a crash for any hints related to seamonkey, chatzilla, or any other mozilla based applications09:18
bullgard_thekorn: Right, thank you very much for your advice. --  And my suggestion '~$ strace -e trace=open seamonkey' is rather unsuitable for this purpose?09:40

thekornbullgard_, I'm not sure, but by looking at this two files you can easily verify if your bug is a duplicate of the one you mentioned in your bugreport,10:06
thekornand this is a good step to start with10:06
bullgard_thekorn: I will do so. --  Thank you very much.10:32

cwillu_at_workhmm, changing a color in appearance | theme | customize has broken radiance;  most of my open programs now show ugly default gtk widgets, even if I change the theme14:37

malev_Hi! how to make an upstream? I report the bug 579784 and then I reported it in google code. I have the link, but can't remember what to do next15:02
ubot4Launchpad bug 579784 in rst2pdf (Ubuntu) "If u try to convert a non existing file, it returns an exception (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/57978415:02
kklimondamalev_: click also affects project15:04
malev_kklimonda, hi! but there it asks me for a launchpad link, I mean, it's giving me an error15:05
malev_when I paste there this link: http://code.google.com/p/rst2pdf/issues/detail?id=31715:06
kklimondamalev_: right, so you can't link to projects that aren't registered on launchpad15:06
malev_and in that case, what should I do? mark it as triage and that it?15:07
kklimondaI'd do that, yes15:08
malev_and.. are U a member of bug-control? because I don't have the rights to do that :)15:10
kklimondamhm, I've done it15:12

charlie-tcanigelbabu: I can not get that thing to work for me. people.ubuntu.com will not accept the file. It would not accept my files 5 years ago, either23:02
* charlie-tca discovered after hours of trying23:02
kklimondacharlie-tca: maybe it has a wrong ssh key imported for you?23:07
charlie-tcadon't know, plenty of frustration to go around, though23:08
kklimondahave you tried contacting administrators?23:09
charlie-tcayou are right, I think. that key has to match my own system, right?23:09
charlie-tcaInstalling fresh several times per release, the key has changed about ??? times now23:10
* charlie-tca is too tired today23:10
kklimondayes, it's essentially the sftp with key authorization - I think they are imported from launchpad23:10
charlie-tcaI don't have that key on my computer anymore23:11
