qwebirc43293hi, anyone here?17:34
qwebirc43293i would need help at getting my Technisat Skystar 2 working17:35
qwebirc43293i do not know the correct settings at mythtv backend,17:38
recsaHi, guys, i come to you in a last attempt to stop the forces of evil XDDD, my wife's brother (dont remember how that is said in english) has recently setup a windows media center, im trying to setup a mythbuntu but sadly im not skilled enough in linux config (i switch from windows world to linux world just a couple months ago) so im having a bad time setting up my mythbuntu, im slepin 3 hours a day trying to have this runing, but still21:12
recsa no success an my wife keps saying .. "make it windows, my brother can help you ..." i would rather let a truck pass over me some times before letting him do it XDDDDD please help me get in th right addres21:12
recsasorry for this wall text21:12
recsamy main problems are:21:12
recsa1- IR remote control not working21:13
recsa2- DVD not playing movies, weird screen and exits21:13
recsa3- After reboot --> Watch TV --A error all input are in use ... etc21:14
recsaIm using Mythbuntu 10.04 setup as both backend and frontend. Using Haupaugge HVR-112021:15
recsaIf someone has the heart to point me in the right direction, i wil be very grateful, thx in advance21:16
mrandrecsa: IR remote setup is often easiest done via mythbuntu control centre, so be sure to use that as a starting point.  As for the other two problems, no specific ideas.  Enable auto-builds to make sure you aren't running into something that is already fixed.  If that doesn't help, search on the forums, mythtv-users mailing list, or #mythtv-users21:18
recsai tried the MCC but looks like it pops up the lirc config files with weird data. Regarding the auto builds ... wheres that option?21:19
mrandIt's referred to as the PPA within MCC I believe21:20
recsagonna try that21:20
Jay2k1as for the dvd thing, i couldn't get it to work as well21:21
recsadont think i come here and ask without having done my part, ive been reading forums and google pages for several hours every night, trying almost everything i have found, im starting to think that 10.04 is too bugy or that lacks enough community support21:21
Jay2k1now i updated to 0.23 though, didn't try since21:21
Jay2k1whenever i put in a dvd and selected watch dvd in myth, it'd just show a blank screen or so and instantly return to the frontend21:22
recsaits just that i see the give up moment coming and wanted to ask :)21:22
recsajay2k1, same here21:22
Jay2k1oh don't give up21:22
Jay2k1it's so much fun when it's working21:23
Jay2k1can be a long path until you get there but it's worth it21:23
recsaim trying to install a pack of codecs lik ffsomething, think i read somewhere it can help21:23
recsabah, ffmpeg is already installed, that wasnt the solution21:29
recsaany1 has a Haupauge HVR-1100? i would like to see working hardware.conf and lircd.conf files21:32
recsammm how could i check if i have libdvdcss2 already installed?22:02
munswow i'm back ;( any takers on help with this HVR-1600 with mythbuntu.  Yes i followed the wiki and yes i done everything cept the compiling of the ivtv drivers, done the firmware and added the ivtv for analog and also the digital side and still nada22:10
munsmythbuntu 10.04 fully updated, with auto-builds 0.23, HVR-1600 w/remote22:14
recsaYAYAYAY Mythbuntu 934 - recsa 1!!!22:21
recsaDVD playback solved22:21
recsafor any reason, 10.04 MCC cant install the DVD support, but manually doing it fixes it22:22
Jay2k1recsa how?22:31
recsaadd medibuntu repository to software sources22:31
recsathen install libdvdcss2 from synaptic22:32
recsasec ill c&p22:32
recsaecho deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ lucid free non-free | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list22:35
Zinn[packages.medibuntu.org] Medibuntu -- Medibuntu packages22:35
recsawget -q http://packages.medibuntu.org/medibuntu-key.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -22:36
Zinn[packages.medibuntu.org]22:36
recsasudo apt-get update22:36
recsathen just synaptic it22:36
recsastill having some setup troubles with internal player, but mplayer an vlc plays them perfectly22:37
recsabah changed all playback to mplayer no problem now22:47
recsaif just lir woul want to read my remoe i would be happy22:47
recsa*lirc *remote22:48
recsainstalling auto-builds, .... on last stage it says "open synaptic and install updates as you normally would" .... updates to which pakage?22:55
Jay2k1i guess all22:57
recsait means i should go synaptic an update MythTV?22:58
recsai just installed mythbuntu 10.04 guess im up to date22:59
Jay2k1a simple apt-get update && apt-get upgrade will do22:59
recsashould i do that?22:59
Jay2k1it just wants to tell you to fetch the new package lists (i'm sure enabling auto builds adds new repos)22:59
Jay2k1and then check for updated packages22:59
recsaif that helps fix my remote, i can try22:59
Jay2k1dunno if that'll do that22:59
Jay2k1so, step by step23:00
Jay2k1is it recognized by irw?23:00
recsairw?23:01

Jay2k1try this23:09
Jay2k1cat /proc/bus/input/devices | grep -i ir23:09
Jay2k1just to be sure23:10
recsanothing related to ir, it shows N: Name="MLK Wireless Desktop"23:11
Jay2k1that's not it :/23:11
Jay2k1seems the infrared part of the tv card is not recognised by the kernel23:11
recsamaybe i broke something on tests?23:12
Jay2k1i can hardly imagine there's a way to break that23:12
Jay2k1that's like looking into device manager in windows23:12
recsammm i just played with lircd.conf and hardware.conf, dont thing that can break too much23:12
Jay2k1no23:13
Jay2k1it could break a working config23:13
Jay2k1but not the device being detected23:13
Jay2k1that's where things start23:13
recsais there a way to force a devices scan?23:13
Jay2k1hang on, gonna test something else23:13
Jay2k1try this23:14
