[01:30] tgm4883: You there? [08:26] Hi can anyone help with this error failed to reinitialize video output with proprietary ati driver installed running MythTV 0.23 on Mythbuntu 10.04 works fine uninstalled (HD4550) [08:30] anyone here? [08:59] Existance0 just state your problem, there are quite some people here, but they're not always at their computer looking at the channel [09:05] Its ok :p I already found an answer elsewhere. [11:15] problem solved [11:16] what was it [11:18] i had to change the display when output (Res) in the ATI Catalyst Control Center first then it was fine [11:19] but is there a simple way to get\enable sound over HDMI [12:37] is anyone using the Terratec H5 or H7 USB here in ubuntu? === JamieBen1ett is now known as JamieBennett [17:34] hi, anyone here? [17:35] i would need help at getting my Technisat Skystar 2 working [17:38] i do not know the correct settings at mythtv backend, [21:12] Hi, guys, i come to you in a last attempt to stop the forces of evil XDDD, my wife's brother (dont remember how that is said in english) has recently setup a windows media center, im trying to setup a mythbuntu but sadly im not skilled enough in linux config (i switch from windows world to linux world just a couple months ago) so im having a bad time setting up my mythbuntu, im slepin 3 hours a day trying to have this runing, but still [21:12] no success an my wife keps saying .. "make it windows, my brother can help you ..." i would rather let a truck pass over me some times before letting him do it XDDDDD please help me get in th right addres [21:12] sorry for this wall text [21:12] my main problems are: [21:13] 1- IR remote control not working [21:13] 2- DVD not playing movies, weird screen and exits [21:14] 3- After reboot --> Watch TV --A error all input are in use ... etc [21:15] Im using Mythbuntu 10.04 setup as both backend and frontend. Using Haupaugge HVR-1120 [21:16] If someone has the heart to point me in the right direction, i wil be very grateful, thx in advance [21:18] recsa: IR remote setup is often easiest done via mythbuntu control centre, so be sure to use that as a starting point. As for the other two problems, no specific ideas. Enable auto-builds to make sure you aren't running into something that is already fixed. If that doesn't help, search on the forums, mythtv-users mailing list, or #mythtv-users [21:19] i tried the MCC but looks like it pops up the lirc config files with weird data. Regarding the auto builds ... wheres that option? [21:20] It's referred to as the PPA within MCC I believe [21:20] gonna try that [21:21] as for the dvd thing, i couldn't get it to work as well [21:21] dont think i come here and ask without having done my part, ive been reading forums and google pages for several hours every night, trying almost everything i have found, im starting to think that 10.04 is too bugy or that lacks enough community support [21:21] now i updated to 0.23 though, didn't try since [21:22] whenever i put in a dvd and selected watch dvd in myth, it'd just show a blank screen or so and instantly return to the frontend [21:22] its just that i see the give up moment coming and wanted to ask :) [21:22] jay2k1, same here [21:22] oh don't give up [21:23] it's so much fun when it's working [21:23] can be a long path until you get there but it's worth it [21:23] im trying to install a pack of codecs lik ffsomething, think i read somewhere it can help [21:29] bah, ffmpeg is already installed, that wasnt the solution [21:32] any1 has a Haupauge HVR-1100? i would like to see working hardware.conf and lircd.conf files [22:02] mmm how could i check if i have libdvdcss2 already installed? [22:10] wow i'm back ;( any takers on help with this HVR-1600 with mythbuntu. Yes i followed the wiki and yes i done everything cept the compiling of the ivtv drivers, done the firmware and added the ivtv for analog and also the digital side and still nada [22:14] mythbuntu 10.04 fully updated, with auto-builds 0.23, HVR-1600 w/remote [22:21] YAYAYAY Mythbuntu 934 - recsa 1!!! [22:21] DVD playback solved [22:22] for any reason, 10.04 MCC cant install the DVD support, but manually doing it fixes it [22:31] recsa how? [22:31] add medibuntu repository to software sources [22:32] then install libdvdcss2 from synaptic [22:32] sec ill c&p [22:35] echo deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ lucid free non-free | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list [22:35] [packages.medibuntu.org] Medibuntu -- Medibuntu packages [22:36] wget -q http://packages.medibuntu.org/medibuntu-key.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add - [22:36] [packages.medibuntu.org] [22:36] sudo apt-get update [22:36] then just synaptic it [22:37] still having some setup troubles with internal player, but mplayer an vlc plays them perfectly [22:47] bah changed all playback to mplayer no problem now [22:47] if just lir woul want to read my remoe i would be happy [22:48] *lirc *remote [22:55] installing auto-builds, .... on last stage it says "open synaptic and install updates as you normally would" .... updates to which pakage? [22:57] i guess all [22:58] it means i should go synaptic an update MythTV? [22:59] i just installed mythbuntu 10.04 guess im up to date [22:59] a simple apt-get update && apt-get upgrade will do [22:59] should i do that? [22:59] it just wants to tell you to fetch the new package lists (i'm sure enabling auto builds adds new repos) [22:59] and then check for updated packages [22:59] if that helps fix my remote, i can try [22:59] dunno if that'll do that [23:00] so, step by step [23:00] is it recognized by irw? [23:01] irw? [23:01] open a terminal [23:01] whats that? [23:01] type irw [23:01] does it say something? [23:01] nothing [23:01] ok, point your remote at the receiver [23:01] press a few keys [23:02] nothing [23:02] hmm, too bad, ctrl-c out of irw [23:02] i configured my remote all by hand [23:02] hang on a sec [23:02] sure, thx [23:03] im using Hauppauge 1120 remote [23:03] http://parker1.co.uk/mythtv_ubuntu2.php [23:03] [parker1.co.uk] MythTV Ubuntu Installation Guide - Part 2 [23:04] scroll down to "remote control" [23:04] reading [23:05] btw, the evtest line didn't work for me [23:05] but do that cat proc/input/... [23:05] look for "ir" and "hauppauge" [23:06] tell me which event it is (event2 or such) [23:07] mmm i think this bad, nothing about hauppauge or ir [23:08] is your remote receiver from the hauppauge card? [23:08] yes [23:08] and it is plugged in there properly? [23:08] yes [23:09] N: Name="cx88 IR (Hauppauge Nova-T DVB-T" <- thats my line [23:09] try this [23:09] cat /proc/bus/input/devices | grep -i ir [23:10] just to be sure [23:11] nothing related to ir, it shows N: Name="MLK Wireless Desktop" [23:11] that's not it :/ [23:11] seems the infrared part of the tv card is not recognised by the kernel [23:12] maybe i broke something on tests? [23:12] i can hardly imagine there's a way to break that [23:12] that's like looking into device manager in windows [23:12] mmm i just played with lircd.conf and hardware.conf, dont thing that can break too much [23:13] no [23:13] it could break a working config [23:13] but not the device being detected [23:13] that's where things start [23:13] is there a way to force a devices scan? [23:13] hang on, gonna test something else [23:14] try this [23:14] dmesg | grep input [23:14] nothing [23:15] nothing related to ir you mean [23:15] nothing at all [23:15] related or not [23:15] um [23:15] reboot, then try that again [23:16] rebooting [23:16] should that dmesg say something? [23:16] yup [23:16] http://pastebin.com/ZwdCuaVZ [23:16] thats my output [23:18] got it now [23:18] lots of inputs [23:18] anything of interest? [23:19] nope nothing IR related [23:19] would you mind pasting the output on a pastebin [23:19] pastebin [23:19] lol [23:19] XD [23:21] http://pastebin.com/tRkPpqMy [23:22] weird [23:22] mmm im pretty sure yesterday i had something related to my hauppauge on input6 [23:23] please paste the output of lspci [23:23] gonna check if the card is even working [23:23] (the card is a pci card isn't it) [23:23] yup it is [23:23] then do [23:23] lspci [23:23] wrong keyboard [23:23] heh [23:24] wow, i pastebin it [23:25] pastebin.com/2yTsV0vm [23:25] if you keep the www. in links, they are clickable from within the irc client [23:26] ok [23:26] hmm weird [23:26] it has the philips chip [23:26] so the tv card seems to be recognised [23:27] anyways, i'd open the case and make sure the card is properly inserted [23:27] perhaps pull it out and plug it back in [23:27] ok, got it right here [23:27] it's time for me to go now [23:27] it's late already [23:28] ok, thx a lot for your help [23:28] where are you from? [23:28] you know what commands to use and what to look for [23:28] germany [23:28] spain here [23:28] oh, hola [23:28] so, good luck in finding your ir input [23:29] thx [23:29] once you have it, you can follow the instructions from the website i linked you to [23:29] we will see heh [23:29] buenas noches amigo [23:29] i'll be here tomorrow i think [23:29] gnight
