[00:03] hi all. I have totally broken my mythtv install; selected 0.24 in the control centre, some components updated and some not, switched it back to 0.23+fixes, wondering how to uninstall and reinstall the whole thing? [00:11] Having an issue with the exporting (via Optical Disks -> Archive Files). I have a recording and it has a cut list and has also been transcoded. If I view the recording within Myth the cutlist is observed (no commercials). However the exported recording still has the commercials. Any ideas? [08:57] On a fresh install of MythBuntu 10.4, whenever I try to "Watch A DVD", I get thrown into an unresponsive "LCD Device display" screen that drops back to the menu a few seconds later. Anyone have a line on this? [09:24] Never mind. Must have been a bug because enabling daily builds and updating took care of it [09:45] Good Morning! ^^ [09:48] One question... i want to create a computer for home-recording from Satellite "Astra". An old computer is now equipped with an skystar2 receiver and i want to install Mythbuntu on that machine. [09:49] The computer starts up and shows a black screen and nothing more happens. It starts up about 3 minutes and it stays in a black screen. [09:49] Are there any boot options for an other resolution or anything like that? [17:28] Hello everyone [17:28] Hello draik! [17:29] Hello [17:29] Hello some [17:29] Hello everyone [17:29] Well, enough of that [17:30] I'm trying to see the screenshots of Mythbuntu from the site, but they never load [17:31] Also, I built my own home server with (currently) 2 drives. One drive has the OS (currenly Kubuntu) and the 2nd drive has all of my DVD iso images. How can I have Mythbuntu automatically mount an ISO of my choosing for frontend viewing? [17:41] draik, link to pictures? [17:41] http://www.mythbuntu.org/category/image-galleries/1004/mythbuntu-control-centre [17:42] strange [17:42] they load here [17:42] what browser are you using? [17:42] Click on an image [17:42] Does it load up for you? [17:42] I'm on FF and Opera [17:43] also, Mythvideo will mount your ISO's for you if you set it up for legacy use [17:43] tgm4883: they don't load for me either. I even have Adblock disabled for the site. [17:44] mrand, hmm, not loading for me either [17:44] odd [17:45] looks like the file doesn't exist [17:45] which would explain why it doesn't load [17:45] the preview doesn't exist [17:45] Click on the heading under the image, that will load [17:46] yea [17:47] Regarding the ISO, how will that work? [17:47] Do I just choose the ISO on the server itself and it will auto-load it or do I have to manually mount it? [17:48] draik, is the mythtv frontend the same machine? [17:48] For now, yes [17:49] I'm going to build a frontend from a shuttle or something small that I can toss upstairs in my room. [17:50] Since it is going to be wireless (the box in my room), I was thinking that I'll sshfs, but if mythbuntu can mount it on the backend and stream it wirelessly for me, then I'm all set [17:51] draik, for ISO's you will need to mount the dir locally [17:51] then the frontend would mount the ISO for you [17:51] if you didn't use ISO's, it would all happen automatically for you [17:52] Yeah, they are all ISO [17:52] then you will have to mount the dir locally and disable mythvideo storage groups [17:53] Hmmm [17:53] Maybe mythbuntu isn't what I should be using if I can just leave it now as the server that it is. [17:56] yea i'd leave the server alone [17:57] if you have a tv card in it, you could install the backend on it [17:58] No, I don't have a tuner card at all [17:58] I was debating if I should add one or not [17:58] But I don't have a TV in my study downstairs, so I decided it would be a waste. [18:00] well that you could stream to other mythtv frontends automatically [18:01] Having a tuner card is required for that? [18:01] to stream TV [18:01] not ISO's [18:02] i mean, you would have to record somehow right? [18:02] My server only has ISO for all of the DVDs that I own [18:03] right, and then we were discussing TV [18:04] tuner card with no TV/cable access. [18:04] ah no cable access [18:04] that is much different than no TV [18:04] Right. Sorry. [18:05] Well, I could have access to it, but it would be a hassle to have a new set of wires running through the house and so forth. Better to leave it as-is right now. [18:09] Hello I have a problem with my tv card, I can use composite but I cannot scan for channels. what must I do ? [18:10] qwebirc83560, did you set up a channel changing script and IR blasting? [18:10] yes [18:10] what version of MythTV? [18:10] 10.04 [18:12] backend log error messages? === jku_ is now known as jku [18:12] Wait I'm now on my windows pc but In about 2min I'm on mythbuntu [18:15] Where can I find the log ? [18:16] !logs | qwebirc83259 [18:16] qwebirc83259: MythTV logs are stored in /var/log/mythtv/ You can use mythbuntu-log-grabber from the Applications menu to automatically post the most relevant logs to our pastebin. [18:20] But when I wanna add a channel it's say: Failed to find any new channel [18:21] qwebirc83259, thats in the logs? [18:22] (S29): Failed to find Channel 2010-05-24 19:20:24.798 Channel(/dev/video0)::TuneTo(S29): Error, failed to find channel. [18:22] That is the log [20:17] howdy folks
