jonodholbach, sweet :)15:56
qensedholbach: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34Igxexgjh8 Ha!15:57
dholbachqense: I'll have a look later on15:58
qensedholbach: Only if you have some spare time! It's nothing serious. ;)15:58
jonodholbach, sorry net went down16:03
jonogive me two mins16:03
dholbachjono: sure16:03
Technovikingjcastro: Have you tried Cloud Services Notifications? Now my Google Reader shows up in my indictor menu16:04
jonodholbach, alright, mumble?16:07
dholbachjono: go go go16:07
qenseurrgh. Our LoCo really is a mess. All kind of people making up fancy bureaucratic structures that make them feel they are someone, but that don't do anything useful. Every subteam and council has its own board and would rather want it to be closed for public viewing. Most of it already is, but now the 'Community Council' suddenly doesn't want Ubuntu NL team members to read their board.16:26
qenseWe're getting all kind of closed entities, the founders of the 'Community Council' think we need a community council because otherwise the Ubuntu NL team won't listen to the community and you can hardly participate if no one inside the team proposes to give you access to the closed boards.16:28
qenseUbuntu NL is mostly a forum.16:33
qenseSo unfortunately we only really attract people that like to watch forum discussions all day.16:34
czajkowskiqense: ugh16:35
qenseczajkowski: People think they're fancy with their fancy titles and subteams, but we do very little productive.16:35
popey:(16:36
czajkowskiqense: do ye need a hand ?16:36
janc_lgmqense: saying it's mostly a forum is somewhat of an exaggeration, the actually active people do good work16:36
qensejanc_lgm: But they're not really visible. If you don't look good enough everything seems very lethargic.16:37
janc_lgmmaybe because they aren't on the forum so much16:37
nigelbczajkowski: I got a question related to the loco stuff16:37
czajkowskifire ahead16:37
qensejanc_lgm: and that's the problem because for most people the Ubuntu NL community is the forums and nothing more16:37
qenseczajkowski: Tomorrow is our national release party, that's a good place to shake things up a little. ;)16:38
janc_lgmand most of the forum people don't do so much16:38
nigelbso, indian loco isn't *very* active (except for the m/l, which is *very* active).  I'm planning a few small events in my city.  doesn that gives us a + points at reapproval?16:38
qenseczajkowski: But thanks for your offer. I'll call you when people start screaming and such.16:38
nigelbwe are too big, so its difficult to have events all over.16:38
czajkowskiqense: how about asking before it gets to the screaming bit :) I like less drama16:39
qenseczajkowski: Don't you like conflict resolution? :D16:39
czajkowskinigelb: sure, but why not have events all over16:39
czajkowskiqense: I di indeed16:39
qensenigelb: Is there one LoCo for the whole of India? :O16:39
qensenigelb: You could follow the US model: they've got a national LoCo that mostly does support for local LoCos and the LoCos most people deal with are per state or per very-large-city16:40
nigelbczajkowski: I personally am not good at organizing, but I don't want the loco to die out16:40
nigelbqense: we have a serious lack of volunteers for a country this size16:40
nigelbwhen it comes to comitting to do stuff, I see very few folks16:40
dholbachalright my friends - I call it a day16:41
dholbachhave a great weekend everyone16:41
* dholbach hugs you all16:41
nigelbsvaksha has been pushing me to do something for sometime and I think I found a good venue16:41
qensenigelb: You've got 1 billion people and on top of that Tamil Nadu seems very pro-Ubuntu, so there must be some people that can do something.16:41
nigelbdholbach: good night :)16:41
qensedholbach: have a nice weekend!16:41
dholbachbye!16:41
nigelbqense: well, we don't want to travel cross country for a meet.  I certainly dont have the time.16:41
qensenigelb: India is pretty big indeed. You could just start a more local LoCo.16:42
nigelbI was just planning small monthly meet ups with talks and folks helping fix whats broken etc16:42
qenseThat seems like a good way to start to me.16:42
czajkowskinigelb: what we do here is have an ubuntu hour16:43
nigelbthere is a GSoC meet tomorrow.  Their venue is very interesting, perhaps I'm thinking of having ubuntu meetups there16:43
czajkowskiand now they are taking off in different places16:43
nigelbczajkowski: similar to what i'm planning.  an hour of talks and hacking16:43
czajkowskinigelb: but they are not different locos16:43
nigelbczajkowski: what I wanted to know was if a city event would still be counted for the ubuntu-in loco.  I really want it to pass approval :)16:44
janc_lgmnigelb: why wouldn't it count?16:46
* nigelb wasn't sure if just one city having events was going to help16:46
czajkowskinigelb: we hold a lot in dublin but not all16:47
popeyif you're in the loco team and you organise an event, its a loco team event in my book16:47
nigelbpopey: that's what I wnated to know. ty :)16:48
popeyunless for some reason you'd been kicked out of the loco, or actively told not to organise an event, cant imagine that though16:48
nigelbum, the loco contact was like 'we're looking for someone new to take over from us'16:49
nigelbqense: you are't in -reviews anymore?16:53
qensenigelb: Have I ever been?16:54
qensedinner time, afk16:54
nigelbqense: I remember talking to you about mermingus there16:55
qensenigelb: Ah, the IRC channel.17:22
qensenigelb: Removed it from the list when I wanted to clean up the large list of IRC channels I'm in.17:22
qensejono: Maybe you should change the title of <https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/community-m-global-menu> as well; it still says 'Global menu'.17:33
jonoqense, yeah, I will later17:34
qenseok17:34
bencrisfordnigelb: a patch needs reviewing on a bug assigned to me :)!  This could be a sign, that its time to start reviewing!17:42
nigelbbencrisford: hehe, definitely17:42
bencrisfordI remember being inspired by your OW session :D17:42
* nigelb was inspiring o.O17:44

Pendulumdoctormo: #ubuntu-accessibility is the IRC channel (if said person uses IRC)20:24
doctormoI will point them to the irc via html20:25

akgranerjono yep it's inprogress21:41
Pendulumjono: if "I started to look at those chapters again" counts, then yes, it's in progress :)21:42
jonoPendulum, it would be awesome if you could start merging in contact from one of the chapters this week21:42
jonodoes that seem doable?21:42
jonoakgraner, thanks21:42
jonoakgraner, for the fridge redev, has the design team committed to producing a wordpress theme?21:43
Pendulumjono: possibly? I just moved house and I'm having to do an emergency trip this weekend to visit someone in hospital, but I think I should be able to manage something. Do you want me to check with highvoltage and itnet7 as well?21:43
jonoPendulum, thanks!21:43
jonodon't worry, I will check in with them21:43
AlanBelldoctormo: I have a Ground Control issue http://people.ubuntu.com/~alanbell/Screenshot-Bazaar%20Error.png what have I done wrong?22:07
doctormoIt means that one of your branches has not been upgraded, I currently don't detect of provide any functionality to upgrade them through the GUI so you'll have to drop down to the Command Line to upgrade them22:08
doctormoThough I would report a bug that I can't detect or perform this action as it's important to clear up every instance where users have to drop to command line to get around a problem.22:08
AlanBellI pressed the fix bug button to get the branch, then tried to upload the fix22:13
AlanBellI do have a read only branch from a few weeks ago22:13
AlanBellah, is it my bzr area on launchpad that needs upgrading?22:15
