AYarterI have 512 megs on this box. Will that be okay to launch emulators and play movies? I won't be doing any encoding/decoding10:09
AYarterwell, I guess I will be decoding, but only what I watch. Let me know! Thanks110:10

qwebirc1635Anyone here?11:49
qwebirc1635I want to use this PC through a router to load mythbuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64.iso from a CD that I have tested as bootable to a media server. I am using the instructions from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DisklessUbuntuHowto and I am currently stuck on step 4c. I have assigned both the pxe server and the media server static IPs through the router.11:50

Davieyqwebirc1635: is this for an all in one, or frontend system?11:53
qwebirc1635standalone... both frontend and backend11:54
Davieyqwebirc1635: sorry, what is step 4c?11:54
Davieybrb11:54
qwebirc1635# Create default configuration file /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/default  LABEL linux KERNEL vmlinuz-2.6.15-23-686 APPEND root=/dev/nfs initrd=initrd.img-2.6.15-23-686 nfsroot=192.168.2.2:/nfsroot ip=dhcp rw  NOTE1: your nfs server IP address, kernel name, and initrd name will likely be different. If you have a preconfigured system the names should be the names of the kernel and initrd (see below) on the client system NOTE2: 11:56
qwebirc1635how do i find the kernel version without installing first?11:59
qwebirc1635off this CD?11:59
Davieyqwebirc1635: You could come back to it12:04
Davieyif you install on a machine infront of you, you can rsync it over to the NFS mount12:04
Davieythen you have all the info you need12:04
Davieyand you have the NFS stuff done :)12:04
qwebirc1635true, didn't think to dual boot this system... Thnx12:06
qwebirc1635I am Igmu Hammerer, if I figure out how to login to IRC with my handle.12:06
Jay2k1you could also type /nick hammerer12:08
Jay2k1that'd be a start :)12:08
qwebirc1635thnx, i am chating through http://www.mythbuntu.org/chat, not an IRC client yet.12:11
qwebirc1635chatting12:11
Jay2k1i know12:12
Jay2k1there are times where we have quite a few people online who are doing this, and you can imagine how confusing it gets to have five people whose nicks start with qwebirc12:13
Jay2k1so i advise them to change their nick :)12:13
qwebirc1635thank you, I will boot mybuntu on to this system, it would also allow me to debug, test, deploy updates, etc more successfully12:14

joakim_I have a problem with subtitles after upgrading from 9.10 to 10.04, I dont see the subs when there in the bottom of the screen only when they are at the top of the screen. has any one else had this problem ?13:37
joakim_I use MKV files made with handbrake so I  can turn on and of the subs. the files plays great in mplayer, but I cant get mplayer or VLC to work with mythtv and the remote works alöotbetter with the Internal player13:40
