ubot2Launchpad bug 533209 in usb-creator (Ubuntu) "Can't Build Local (affects: 1) (heat: 31)" [Undecided,New]08:53

DrKenobitrinikrono: it look like someone is working on that bug11:22
xelistersudo aptitude install mp32ogg     -->  No candidate version found for mp32ogg11:28
xelisteris that a bug or wtf?11:28
xelisterwell it is here... http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/lucid/man1/mp32ogg.1.html11:28
xelisterIm on lucid-proposed11:29
* xelister demands explanation for this outrage11:32
xelisterbtw oggenc is missing too, so can't work around11:33
yofelxelister: mp32ogg was deprecated, and oggenc is part of the vorbis-tools package11:39
yofelactually mp32ogg seems to be unmaintained11:39
mr_pouit(it has been removed from lucid anyway)11:40
xelisteryofel: then we imho should make oggenc to be virtual package to download vorbis-tools!11:45
xelisterotherwise the manuals googled are useless11:45
xelisteroh, it was previously not called oggenc either...?  then sorry for notr using apt-file.. but why did unbut not said that hint, that you may want to install package vorbis-tools etc?11:46
yofelerm, if you try to run 'oggenc' without the package installed, it should tell you that you need to install vorbis-tools11:46
yofelit didn't?11:46
yofellemme try11:46
xelisterright. meh. My fault for just doing apt-get search11:46
xelisterit does11:46
xelisterok11:46
yofelah11:46
xelisterbut then, would be even nicer if apt-get search  / aptitude search would  automatically use apt-file search. wouldnt it?11:47
yofelhm, problem with that is that the file lists for apt-file are seperate from the usual package cache, might be something for aptitude though11:47
xelisteryea, it would just exectee  apt-file update  etc11:52
trijntjeHi all, I need some help in filing a bug report. I recently upgraded my old dell from the last LTS to Lucid, and now the system randomly freezes and turns the screen black. What package should I file the bug against?11:57

Moral_I need help finding the right package to report a bug for18:13
thekornMoral_: just describe your issue and someone might be able to direct you in the right direction18:14
Moral_My wireless card works fine in 31-22 however when I boot into 32-22 It doesn't load properly. It doesn't recognize when the radio swtich is on or off so it thinks it's always off  [   41.040060] rtl8187: wireless radio switch turned off -- that was from dmesg when the radio switch /was/ on. I also rmmod 'd all the appropriate drivers to double check I then did all the rmmoding again with the radio switch off, but it still thinks it's always off.18:16
Moral_Im thinking mac80211 is the package?18:17
Moral_https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+search?text=rtl818718:17
thekornMoral_: no, 'linux' is the correct package, please report this bug by running    ubuntu-bug linux18:23
Moral_The problem cannot be reported:18:25
Moral_This is not a genuine Ubuntu package18:25
Moral_What? lol.18:26
Moral_Yeah, I'm running ubuntu's kernel, I don't know why it's telling me it's not a ubuntu package. Possibly another bug?18:28
thekornMoral_: yes, it is bug 56296418:29
ubot2Launchpad bug 562964 in apport (Ubuntu) "ubuntu-bug "This is not a genuine Ubuntu package" message is misleading (affects: 2) (dups: 2) (heat: 55)" [Wishlist,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/56296418:29

thekornno, it won't be faster when running apport from the commandline19:24
thekornit is using the "same code"19:25
Kangaroooit may couse theres big problems with my video card.. no?19:25
Kangaroooand if using gui then it consumes video?19:25
Kangaroooim searching in ubuntu apport and in ubuntu bugs how to triage and cant find ubuntu-bug commandline commands for existing crash reporting.. ill just try if i can get that kind of command19:27
thekornwell, you can try it  by running   ubuntu-bug /path/tp/somename.crash19:27
hggdhKangarooo: please do not upload .crash files, they will *not* help19:30
Kangarooohehe :D hggdh im not uploading crash file to bug but reporting bug with crash file.. :)19:30
Kangarooothekorn: that command still opens gui.. maybe in TTY it wont open gui.. ill try19:31
hggdhKangarooo: indeed, if you are running it on a terminal under X, it will notice it and open a windows19:32
thekornKangarooo: ah, sorry, my bad19:33
Kangarooohggdh: but actually even if i would upload crash file to bugreport it can still help. couse it can be opened and read. only its more time consuming19:33
thekornrun apport-cli crashfile.crash19:33
Kangaroooah ok thx thekorn19:33
hggdhKangarooo: no. Nobody will touch a .crash file. Initial processing has to be done locally at your machine19:34
Kangaroooill post result was it finnaly sucesful19:34
Kangarooohggdh: but doesnt crash file makes some more infe when opened? crash file already has all saved info. it can be opened even with mousepad19:36
