nUboon2AgeI know aveilleux is gone now, but some out there might like to know the Ubuntu t-shirt art aveilleux turned me on to a few hours ago I'm now wearing.  I wanted an Ubuntu t-shirt for  an event I'm going to tomorrow I took a printout to a custom t-shirt shop and voila!00:43
Danawarahh00:43
Danawari heard you say somthing about it erlier :d00:43
Danawaryou asked for a link to the site didnt you? :)00:43
nUboon2AgeDanawar: yes that was me. :)00:44
Danawarhave you got a picture of you in the t-shirt? =]00:44
nUboon2AgeDanawar: not yet.  good idea. :)00:44
nUboon2AgeMy thought is that a lot more people need to hear about Ubuntu and so we need to find ways to get it into people's awareness.  This is just one small thing, but we do what we can.00:46
DanawarOut of interest why do you want a lot of people to know about Ubuntu?00:47
stlsaintDanawar: out of interest...why would you ask that in a ubuntu irc channel??00:47
DanawarI'm just interested as i beleave some people would like to have ubuntu more popular because it is a free alternative etc etc others might just want to make it popular so they can make money thought there knowledge.00:48
nUboon2AgeDanawar: because its so great!  I'm so impressed by the support that's available here and on the forums, the high quality of the OS, its beauty, ease of use and freedom.  As a newcomer to it I find these compelling and surprising that I hadn't really heard of it before.00:48
nUboon2AgeDanawar: I think 10.04 really raised the bar to be very much in the ballpark w/ Mac OSX let alone Windoze.00:50
stlsaintDanawar: linux is already used in just about every major business server environment and is on 19 out of 20 supercomputers in the world...the money is already their to be made so advocating ubuntu for money is highly doubtful01:11
stlsaintno trying to be mean or nothing though..01:17

goodtimeman how do i use rythum box with a ipod17:21
sugnai was reading this tutorial http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=636570217:22
sugnait told me to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf17:22
sugnawhich doesn't exist on my system17:22
sugnawhat should i do17:22
meindian523sugna, you don't need to edit xorg.conf for conky17:23
sugnameindian523:but it said i should to enable double buffering to get rid of the flickering17:23
meindian523sugna, are you using .conkyrc given in that post?17:25
sugnayes17:26
meindian523and using compiz?17:26
meindian523(might be known to you as normal or extra effects17:26
sugnayes i think so (i use CCSM to change desktop settings)17:26
meindian523yeah17:27
* mohi1 runs on seeing the word compiz17:28
meindian523hmm :(17:28

meindian523hmm mohi1 if possible, let's resolve this issue first...17:31
mohi1grm17:32
sugnaanyone got any ideas?17:40
meindian523xorg.conf has been missing since Karmic, at least17:44
sugnai have fixed it17:45
* meindian523 doesn't know how you are supposed to modify Xorg settings otherwise17:45
meindian523sugna, ok, how?17:45
sugnaidiot mistake had named .conkyrc as .concyrc17:45
sugnaso it was using the default without double buffering17:45
meindian523sugna, ah, so what you were using was the default conkyrc packaged in the repos17:46
meindian523which, I'm guessing, didn't have all the fancy features the conkyrc posted in the thread did17:47
sugnayep17:47
sugnastill a couple of tweaks i need to make17:47
sugnabut other than that thanks17:47
meindian523would have found that easily had you checked the screenshot versus your result17:47
meindian523:)17:47
meindian523no problem17:47
meindian523ok, now that that is resolved, how do you modify Xorg settings for things which previously required editing xorg.conf, from Karmic onwards?17:48

sugnait just shows 0B17:56
meindian523sugna, did you try eth0/ppp0/ath0 in place of whatever interface it's using currently17:56
meindian523?17:56
methods2the new ubuntu makes all my sound very low17:58
meindian523methods2, Did you check your global volume AND application volume?17:59
