[15:02] cprofitt: not particularly, but whats up? [15:06] I am trying to take the results of a grep and have them execute [15:10] oh [15:10] I have no clue how to do that [15:10] haha, have you tried googleing around? [15:11] cprofitt, eh, use python [15:11] :P [15:16] jmburgess: I have [15:16] I think not knowing the 'command name' is causing issues [15:17] I have searched on executing the results of grep [15:17] and not gotten anything [15:17] you should setup a var that will be the result and execute that var [15:18] at least logically that's how i would think it'd work [15:18] hmm... would that be a one line command still? [15:18] well one line to setup the var [15:18] and one line to execute it [15:18] put it in a bash script file and done [15:18] jmburgess: You want to execute the output of grep? I don't like the sound of that. [15:19] or the task is to do this in one line? [15:21] You can do grep | bash but be certain that the file you grep does not contain any malicious commands. [15:22] geirha: thanks... I wrote the file so it does not [15:23] Still, there are probably better ways to achieve what you're trying to do. [15:23] perhaps... but that worked... [15:23] so +1000 geirha [15:23] (: [15:25] geirha: are you a BT member? [15:26] No, I just hang around. [21:54] oh wait, the new thunderbird is only tar for now isn't it [22:01] kdotj yes [22:07] win_2_linux: don't forget that gmail can be configured to receive mail from most email accounts and send as that email account [22:08] phllw it works its just not in the right directory its in my download i want to put in where it wil show up in my menus [22:09] right now its in download [22:10] i've not used thunderbird for many years, once i got my gmail account ::coughs:: a few years ago, I've stayed with them and just link other accounts to it. [22:14] i recall the guy who wrote the backup system for thunderbird stopped supporting it, so I'm not too sure what level of back up system there currently is.
