telexlhello folks.00:41
telexlthis probably isn't a bug, but it is mostly a lack of information: in GNOME Vinagre, there is no description in the manual of how to use the ssh forwarding feature.00:42
telexlWould this be a gnome.org thing, or under Ubuntu because GNOME is part of Ubuntu?00:43
micahgtelexl: what manual?00:43
telexlmicahg: In the Help manual for Vinagre - sorry, I didn't mention that.00:44
telexli.e. Help/Contents.00:44
micahgtelexl: inside the program?00:44
telexlmicahg: yes.00:44
micahgtelexl: upstream them00:44
micahg*then00:44
telexlmicahg: erm.. I haven't been here before and I'm sorry, but I have no idea what 'upstream' means. :)00:45
micahgtelexl: gnome.org00:45
micahgtelexl: bugzilla.gnome.org00:45
telexlmicahg: right; understood.  I'll go there.00:45
micahgtelexl: you can file a bug on Launchpad, but they'll just ask that you file the bug upstream as well00:46
telexlmicahg: .. and I've got a few more to add to the list of GNOME issues.  Yes, I reported a bug before and they passed it along to GNOME, I remember.00:47
micahgtelexl: make sure you file 1 bug per issue, if you're not sure if it's a gnome issue or not, you should probably file on launchpad00:48
telexlmicahg: Understood.. ach!  GNOME Bugzilla is full of reports of this issue..00:48
micahgtelexl: ah, so, just find the most recent and subscribe00:49
telexlmicahg: doing that now.00:49
telexlmicahg: is incomplete documentation regarded as a bug?00:53
micahgtelexl: enhancement request00:53
telexlmicahg: ah, you know all the lingo - i'm probably going to have to ask you a few more questions.00:54
micahgtelexl: np, anytime00:54
telexlmicahg: 'tis done: GNOME Bugzilla bug #622673, it is.  Cheers!01:03
ubot2telexl: Error: Bug #622673 not found.01:03
micahggnome 62267301:03
ubot2Gnome bug 622673 in SSH "Enhancement request: Vinagre manual should show how to setup ssh tunnelling" [Normal,Unconfirmed] http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62267301:03
telexlthat is smart.01:04
micahgtelexl: importance should be enhancement01:04
telexlmicahg: should I modify it?01:04
* micahg is not a privileged user of gnome's bugzilla yet01:05
micahgtelexl: yes, please01:05
telexlokay01:05
telexlI didn't see that.  I'm new at this.01:05
telexlDone01:05
micahgtelexl: np, thanks01:06
telexlmicahg: is the priority 'normal' okay btw?01:06
micahgtelexl: yes01:06
telexlit sort-of ranks below 'normal', falling into the realm of something that is difficult to use, rather than being a showstopper.  oh. ok01:07
micahgtelexl: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#importance01:07
telexlmicahg: neat - wish I'd seen that before.01:08
telexlthanks and g'night!01:08
micahgtelexl: importance should be a link on the bug submission page01:08
telexlmicahg: ah.. i probably missed it - no probs01:10
nigelbvish: gah, I didn't know if you were asking about "copy"!03:58

rmrfslashI just got a asus k42jv and it has both Intel and Nvidia graphics (supposed to be "switchable"... but I'm assuming that won't work in Ubuntu). When I install the Nvidia restricted driver though and reboot, I and confronted with a blank/black screen when X tries to start up. I can't get to recovery mode either oddly because it eventually reaches a point where it too goes blank/black07:04
rmrfslashnot entirely sure what to do07:04
rmrfslashnouveau seems to work.07:05
trinikronorecovery mode and check #ubuntu :D07:05
rmrfslash(but I know dual displays work better w/ the restricted driver)07:05
simarrmrfslash, I got the same error ... I used some patch related to sony .. some sonyedid.bin in xorg.conf ... probably you too has to use edid ..07:06

DrKenobiHi! I've installed Test Drive, but I also need to download Virtual Box. I don't understand what is Test Drive for. Only downloads the last ubuntu version?17:42

=== deryck is now known as deryck[lunch]
DrKenobixteejx: now test drive is downloading a maverick iso. I think that i could have downloaded the iso and installed virtualbox, without test drive17:45
xteejxDrKenobi: Yeah it would have the same results17:46
DrKenobixteejx: do u know another tool to test bugs?17:47
xteejxDrKenobi: How do you mean 'test bugs'?17:47
DrKenobixteejx: tools that will make things easy when I'm triaging bugs17:48
xteejxDrKenobi: Most stuff these days is in the ubuntu-qa-tools package17:49

arandbdmurray: bdmurray Hmm, is the issue that one cannot get out of F11, that F11 remains after switching back to windowed, exiting and restartin, or that F11 remains when you ext with alt+F4 and then restart? Of those, I only see the last behaviour, which I would almost guess being intentional and appropriate.18:50
jcastroom26er: was it you who linked up appmenu bugs for ooo, firefox, and chromium earlier today?20:40
