[00:41] hello folks. [00:42] this probably isn't a bug, but it is mostly a lack of information: in GNOME Vinagre, there is no description in the manual of how to use the ssh forwarding feature. [00:43] Would this be a gnome.org thing, or under Ubuntu because GNOME is part of Ubuntu? [00:43] telexl: what manual? [00:44] micahg: In the Help manual for Vinagre - sorry, I didn't mention that. [00:44] i.e. Help/Contents. [00:44] telexl: inside the program? [00:44] micahg: yes. [00:44] telexl: upstream them [00:44] *then [00:45] micahg: erm.. I haven't been here before and I'm sorry, but I have no idea what 'upstream' means. :) [00:45] telexl: gnome.org [00:45] telexl: bugzilla.gnome.org [00:45] micahg: right; understood. I'll go there. [00:46] telexl: you can file a bug on Launchpad, but they'll just ask that you file the bug upstream as well [00:47] micahg: .. and I've got a few more to add to the list of GNOME issues. Yes, I reported a bug before and they passed it along to GNOME, I remember. [00:48] telexl: make sure you file 1 bug per issue, if you're not sure if it's a gnome issue or not, you should probably file on launchpad [00:48] micahg: Understood.. ach! GNOME Bugzilla is full of reports of this issue.. [00:49] telexl: ah, so, just find the most recent and subscribe [00:49] micahg: doing that now. [00:53] micahg: is incomplete documentation regarded as a bug? [00:53] telexl: enhancement request [00:54] micahg: ah, you know all the lingo - i'm probably going to have to ask you a few more questions. [00:54] telexl: np, anytime [01:03] micahg: 'tis done: GNOME Bugzilla bug #622673, it is. Cheers! [01:03] telexl: Error: Bug #622673 not found. [01:03] gnome 622673 [01:03] Gnome bug 622673 in SSH "Enhancement request: Vinagre manual should show how to setup ssh tunnelling" [Normal,Unconfirmed] http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=622673 [01:04] that is smart. [01:04] telexl: importance should be enhancement [01:04] micahg: should I modify it? [01:05] * micahg is not a privileged user of gnome's bugzilla yet [01:05] telexl: yes, please [01:05] okay [01:05] I didn't see that. I'm new at this. [01:05] Done [01:06] telexl: np, thanks [01:06] micahg: is the priority 'normal' okay btw? [01:06] telexl: yes [01:07] it sort-of ranks below 'normal', falling into the realm of something that is difficult to use, rather than being a showstopper. oh. ok [01:07] telexl: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#importance [01:08] micahg: neat - wish I'd seen that before. [01:08] thanks and g'night! [01:08] telexl: importance should be a link on the bug submission page [01:10] micahg: ah.. i probably missed it - no probs [03:58] vish: gah, I didn't know if you were asking about "copy"! When I install the Nvidia restricted driver though and reboot, I and confronted with a blank/black screen when X tries to start up. I can't get to recovery mode either oddly because it eventually reaches a point where it too goes blank/black [07:04] not entirely sure what to do [07:05] nouveau seems to work. [07:05] recovery mode and check #ubuntu :D [07:05] (but I know dual displays work better w/ the restricted driver) [07:06] rmrfslash, I got the same error ... I used some patch related to sony .. some sonyedid.bin in xorg.conf ... probably you too has to use edid .. [07:07] simar: hmm... well I'm not on a sony so that likely won't work [07:08] ya but every laptop has a edid that is related to display ... probably you have to get one that is particular to your ... === shaswat is now known as shaw1337 [10:36] Morning all!
