chilicuilgood afternoon, do u think I should assign bug 609744 to networkmanager or to network-manager-applet? I'm assigning packages to the bugs who dont have one00:38
ubot2`Launchpad bug 609744 in ubuntu "NetworkManager delay before connection (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/60974400:38

hggdhcheers kermiac01:39
kermiacI (finally) have some time to start looking into the apport sanitiser thing now & Dray told me I should check out the arsenal scripts to generate a .csv file01:40
hggdhyes, there is probably something there01:40
kermiacwhat script should i be looking at? I'm drawing a blank - probably because i dont understand exactly what they're doing01:41
hggdhI haven't looked myself, but arsenal has a *lot* of scripts01:41
hggdhhold on01:41
kermiacok :)01:41
hggdha good place to look is inder ./scripts01:42

kermiacI'm just grabbing the branch again (i'm on my work pc atm)01:45
hggdhkermiac: let me look at it tomorrow (dinner is ready, and S.O. will get unhappy if I am not there). I will write one script if needed01:46
hggdhkermiac: and send it to you01:46
kermiachaha, no probs hggdh - I totally understand where you're coming from ;)01:46
hggdh:-)01:46
kermiacthanks for looking into it for me mate.01:46
LaibschI'm seeing a regression-update bug in network-manager: bug 61028702:37
ubot2`Launchpad bug 610287 in network-manager (Ubuntu) "[regression] hardware wifi switch kills eth0 as well (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/61028702:37
LaibschWhen I press the hardware wifi switch wifi gets disabled fine.  But since about a month ago it also disables eth0.02:38
LaibschI see that network-manager was last updated in March02:39
Laibschso, I guess it's not a regression in that package02:40
Laibschwhere else could it be?02:40
LaibschI already tried running an older kernel where I'm quite sure that this used to work02:40
Laibschcurrent system with older kernel is affected as well02:41
jt___I believe I have found a bug which stops me from authenticating on my university wireless network (using wpa2, ttls pap). However, it does work on the first attempt after resuming from standby, I believe it is a driver problem and am not sure how to file the bug, I have syslogs etc.02:45
jt___this is on a laptop (EEEPC 1000h, with Ralink RT2860)02:46

jt_1Sorry, net dropped out03:00
km0r3I don't think bug 610304 is affiliated with gdm.04:17
ubot2`Launchpad bug 610304 in gdm (Ubuntu) "gdm doesn't use ambiance (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/61030404:17
km0r3I mean it doesn't affect gdm.04:18
km0r3Any hints?04:18
km0r3changed to `gnome-desktop`.04:32

kermiacgah, i hate copy/paste fail in bug reports... we really need to be able to edit reports within the first couple of minutes. I've got a feeling there might even be a bug report related to that09:44
devildantekermiac: what are you talking about?09:45
kermiaci copied a standard response & forgot to edit the bug number info when asking somone to 'apport-collect' before hitting the big magic button09:46
devildanteit happened to me too09:47
kermiacI'm just bagging myself publicly for doing an 'oopsie' ;)09:47
devildante:)09:47
devildantebut it would good if we could edit comments09:47
devildanteanyhow, could you triage bug 595555 for me?09:49
ubot2Launchpad bug 595555 in gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu Maverick) (and 2 other projects) "screensaver can't be interrupted once fade begins (affects: 8) (dups: 6) (heat: 78)" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/59555509:49
kermiacok, looking09:49
kermiacdevildante: 595555 could do with some more info like package version information09:50
kermiacdevildante: did you report upstream?09:51
kermiacdevildante: let me rephrase that... are you the one who reported it upstream?09:51
devildantekermiac yes09:51
kermiacthe upstream report needs package version info too09:51
kermiacdevildante: ^^09:52
devildantekermiac: on the upstream report, it is specified that 2.30.x is the version (on right of the report)09:53
devildanteor do you mean the "GNOME version" or "GNOME target" boxes?09:54
kermiacdevildante: no, that's a fair call. Don't worry so much about the upstream report (I'm not familiar with what info the gnome-screensaver devs want). I looked through a few other reports & it doesn't seem to be required09:57
devildantekermiac: ok, thx for clarifying09:57
devildanteso should this bug be triaged?09:58
kermiacdevildante: however, the LP report needs version info. The dupes look like they're using 2.30.0-1ubuntu109:58
kermiacplease add the package version to the LP report, then I'll set it to triaged for you mate09:58
devildantekermiac: okay09:58
kermiacdevildante: what's your LP id mate?10:04
devildantekermiac: ~ilidrissi.amine10:05
kermiacdevildante: thanks. did you add the package version info?10:05
kermiacif not, I'll do it & set it to traiged as I have to go afk10:05
devildantekermiac: is there a specific place where you can put the version, or simply in the description?10:06
kermiacdevildante: just in the description. Don't worry about it with this one. I've got to comment as to why it's being marked as triaged so I can add the version info this time10:07
devildantekermiac: okay, thx a lot10:07
kermiacgah, edge timeouts ftw :P10:09
kermiacdevildante: ok, done. Thanks for helping mate10:09
gorillakermiac: where's the win when edge timesout?10:09

yofelKangarooo: you can't use ubuntu-bug for commands, to file a bug agianst the apt-get command you either have to find out which package it belongs to (in this case apt) or use the full path 'ubuntu-bug /usr/bin/apt-get' or 'ubuntu-bug $(which apt-get)'15:32
yofel(there was a bug open about that iirc)15:33
