fabrice_spbilalakhtar, there?06:15
fabrice_spabout bug 60491006:15
ubottuLaunchpad bug 604910 in uswsusp (Ubuntu) "Please merge uswsusp 0.8-1.2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)" [Wishlist,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/60491006:15
bilalakhtarfabrice_sp: yes06:17
bilalakhtarlooking06:17
bilalakhtarfabrice_sp: yes, can you please sponsor?06:17
fabrice_spyou still have a change in series file, that look likes it's still trying to install a non existent patch06:18
fabrice_spdid you built the package?06:18
bilalakhtarfabrice_sp: which one?06:18
bilalakhtarno06:18
fabrice_sp+usplash_support.patch06:18
fabrice_spat the end of the debdiff file06:18
bilalakhtarfabrice_sp: huh?06:19
bilalakhtarfabrice_sp: I got it. You are looking at the series file in folder patches/06:19
bilalakhtarnot debian/patches/06:19
bilalakhtarThis folder existed in older ubuntu version as well06:20
bilalakhtarI don't know why it is there06:20
fabrice_spbut why adding something there?!06:20
bilalakhtarIt can be safely removed, though06:20
fabrice_sperror06:20
fabrice_spyes06:20
fabrice_spand in the changelog, I'd like a better explanation of what has been dropped06:20
* bilalakhtar is working on ^^06:21
fabrice_spbecause right now, it seems that we only merge things06:21
fabrice_spI think we only merge the bedconf call and the removal of splashy as recommend06:21
fabrice_spdebcon06:21
fabrice_spargh: debconf06:22
bilalakhtarfabrice_sp: should i| modify the line : Removed usplash and splashy support : or its fine?06:22
bilalakhtardebconf!06:22
fabrice_spI think that this is this line the one tah is messy, at least for me :-)06:22
* bilalakhtar thinks fabrice_sp should type a bit slowly06:22
fabrice_spbecause what we really do in the merge is delete spalshy from suggests06:23
bilalakhtarfabrice_sp: we also remove libslpashy1-dev from b-d06:23
bilalakhtarsplashy06:23
bilalakhtarsince it isn't in ubuntu06:23
fabrice_spyeah, I know06:24
bilalakhtarso, should I remove the series file in patches/ ?06:24
fabrice_spbut from a merge perspective, all changes ended in... deleting splashy support06:24
bilalakhtaris there an FTBFS if it exists ?06:24
bilalakhtaryup06:24
fabrice_spno: I didn't see it was in patches directly06:25
bilalakhtarThe same problem: in patches/ directory with non-existant patch, existed in older Ubuntu version as well06:25
fabrice_spso I would say that the merge should have as remaining hcange: drop of splashy support06:25
fabrice_spmerge also allows us to clean things ;-)06:25
bilalakhtaronly that? or debconf-updatepo drop is also needed ?06:26
bilalakhtaryup06:26
* bilalakhtar dgets the latest debian source06:26
fabrice_spand debconf-updatepo also06:26
fabrice_spand document as dropped the splash support patch06:27
bilalakhtarok06:27
=== fta_ is now known as fta
bilalakhtarfabrice_sp: do I need to copy the ubuntu changelog ?06:28
fabrice_spcopy which one?06:29
fabrice_spkeep the previous changelog entries you mean?06:29
bilalakhtaryes ^^06:29
bilalakhtarthe debian changelog doesn't contain ubuntu entries06:30
* bilalakhtar runs update-maintainer06:30
fabrice_spin a merge, you always keep the previous ubuntu's changelog entries06:30
fabrice_spso yes06:30
* bilalakhtar sings Waka Waka while merging06:31
bilalakhtarfabrice_sp: there is a patch in the debian source about splashy, but it is not applied in series. Should I remove it from the package?06:34
fabrice_sptry to keep the diff with Debian as small as possible06:35
bilalakhtarfabrice_sp: done. while I upload debdiff to bug, see the diff from debian here http://ubuntuone.com/p/Aka/06:38
fabrice_spseems good. You only forget to say that you dropped the usplash support patch06:40
fabrice_spbut I can add it when sponsoring06:40
bilalakhtarargh06:41
* bilalakhtar hits himself with a stick06:41
bilalakhtarfabrice_sp: are you adding or I should add ?06:41
fabrice_spas you want06:42
fabrice_spwait a minute06:43

espen77hi, i need an updated hplip package, so i was thinking i'll just put the upgrade in a ppa....i got the official ubu src package wish has a ubuntu specific patch. Any easy/dirty way to apply that patch to the new package (old version=3.10.2, new version=3.10.6)..i know it might not build with a wrong patch, but i was hoping not having to go trough every line.13:54
Rhondadoctormo: Sure, guess it would be better for me to do it properly and have the commit attached to my name instead of you commiting the cri^W^Wit. :)13:54
shadeslayerespen77: put patch in debian/patches/ , add series file, add cdbs magic in rules file, and your all set13:55
shadeslayeror use dh.. and no need for cdbs magic13:55
espen77shadeslayer: thanx, i'll have a go13:56
shadeslayerespen77: also if the package already has patches, then just add patch to debian/patches and add patch name to series file13:57
