duanedesigndobey: i saw you mention on a bug report the irrelevance of an upstream ttask for a packaging bug. Are there any other distinctions, that maybe the team has, to consider before assigning a U1 bug to an up or downstream task?15:54
dobeyduanedesign: not specifically yet i don't think. but something that only affects packaging should only be filed against the ubuntu package15:57
duanedesigndobey:  yeah makes sense.15:59

danyRhy everyone, u1 accounts are tied to launchpad login and ubuntu SSO accounts, aren't they?18:36
ryedanyR, currently launchpad logins are tied to SSO logins, ubuntuone does not store the credentials18:37
duanedesignhello danyR18:37
ryedanyR, i.e. login names and passwords, OAuth tokens for device access are stored in Ubuntu One databases18:38
danyRbecause I was trying to do something like  an account "reset", Ubuntu One hasn't been working for me for a while. But I really want to use it18:38
duanedesigndanyR: what is not working for you?18:40
danyRduanedesign: basically everything. I tried even in a Maverick VM and it won't sync files and in my main system it doesn't even connect18:40
danyRI click connect, it hangs up, seems to be connected but returns to 'Connect' stauts again18:42
duanedesigndanyR: it 'should' auto connrct on boot18:44
danyRduanedesign: I've disabled that :)18:44
danyRok, at least now u1sdtool is giving me an error. where can i see the error?18:46
danyRdescription says: "auth failed"18:46
duanedesigndanyR: ok18:46
danyRu1 web interface isn't listing the computer18:46
danyRLet me try to re-add it18:46
duanedesigndanyR: can you open Applications > Accessories > Password and Encryption18:47
danyRduanedesign: I've got the UbuntuOne token. Shall I delete it?18:47
duanedesigndanyR: yes please18:47
duanedesignprobably want to close the Uburnu One prefernces if its open18:48
danyRI'm reading the computer18:48
duanedesigndanyR: after deleting the token and then confirming that your computer is not listed at one.ubuntu.com/account/machines18:49
danyRConnect button is still greyed out, after adding the computer. It's still trying to connect...18:49
danyRComputer is listed there18:49
duanedesignopening Ubuntu One like normal from the 'Me Menu' should trigger a web page to open asking you to add your computer18:49
duanedesigndanyR: ok remove it18:49
danyRdone18:50
duanedesigndanyR: so  remove the token. Remove the machine from the website, then open the Ubuntu oNe preferences18:50
=== teknico is now known as teknico_away
danyRduanedesign: I got the same: machine is listed in web interface, u1-preferences, but "Connect Button" is still greyed out. u1sdtool reports error, "auth failed"18:53
danyRduanedesign: If I do u1sdtool -q, u1sdtool --start && u1sdtool -c, and then check the status, I'm now online, and in QUEUE_MANAGER status18:56
danyRIt says it's synchronizing, but I've been here before and it just stays here. All my files are on the computer and online. There's nothing that big to synchronize18:57
duanedesigndanyR: can you paste the output of u1sdtool -s  at http://paste.ubuntu.com18:58
danyRduanedesign: http://paste.ubuntu.com/473194/18:59
duanedesigndanyR: ok. can you now try:   u1sdtool --waiting-metadata | wc -l19:00
danyRoutputs 164919:00
duanedesignand:    u1sdtool --waiting-content | wc -l19:00
duanedesigndanyR: ok it has 1649 metadata items to sync19:01
danyRis that much? aren't metadata files supposed to be minimum?19:01
danyRminimal*19:01
duanedesigndanyR: it will process those then move on to the --waiting-content19:01
danyRwaiting-content outputs 1401.19:03
duanedesignok19:03
danyRI've a long wait. It's processing at 2 metadata files/min :|19:03
duanedesigndanyR: you can use those two commands to verify it is making forward progress. The numbers will get smaller over time19:03
danyRyeah, I've been checking. *just* 1600 to process :)19:06
duanedesign:)19:09
danyRwait, that makes sense. I already know how I've this many metadata files. I've somme hidden directories, including .themes, synced with U119:13

helostatus indicates that everything is ok, but i am getting an Internal Server Error from one.ubuntu.com in rhythmbox21:26
heloit would be nice if there was a "refresh" option somewhere in rhythmbox...21:28
ryehelo, checking...21:29
ryehelo, when does the Internal Server Error message appear? Could you please create a screenshot?21:31
helohah, it's working now :)21:32
heloi was able to see the initial loading page after clicking "Ubuntu One" on the left, but instead of loading the music store home, i got the error21:33
helotried a half-dozen times over 10 min or so21:33
ryehelo, was that a ubuntuone-branded web page or simply "Internal Server Error" message (possibly black on white) ?21:46
heloall black & white, usual apache, mod-python, etc error21:51
helothere is certainly an apache log entry somewhere corresponding to it :)21:54
=== jumpa is now known as JUMPA
heloi don't use gnome with all of its extra apps... after selecting an album and going to checkout, i can log into my uone account but rhythmbox just stays on the "connecting you to the ubuntu one music store..."22:16
helofrom what i've seen, it is trying to connect to a local port... if from rhythmbox then it should work, but if it is looking for some ubuntu one daemon, then it is probably not running22:17
heloehh, restarting rhythmbox seems to have done the trick22:23
heloshould i expect to wait more than 30 minutes for my album to start downloading? all tracks are just "queued"22:42
heloattempting http://heratech.net/blog/sham/ubuntu-one-music-not-syncing-queued22:45
=== dendrobates is now known as dendro-afk
helohmm... i guess it's not too bad that rhythmbox won't let me access my music directly, since i can manually download the tracks through my browser23:07

mdl-unithonk: My music has been sitting in "Transferring to your Ubuntu One storage" since last night23:44
