mpoirierThat was abandoned14:07
mpoirierthe tree was located but impossible to reproduce factory image.14:07

MootBotNew Topic:  cooloney to work with robclark and sebjan to merge HDMI patches (c/o)14:08
ogrampoirier, for which bug was that originally btw ?14:08
ograthe MMC issues ?14:08
* ogra forgot 14:08
mpoirier/bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/591941 - yes, mmc14:08
ogragreat, k, seems we have other patches that just got into linux-omap at least14:08
rsalvetimpoirier: were you able to get in contact with the  patch owner? maybe he can help you on this14:09
mpoirierNope, didn't contact anyone yet.14:09
mpoirierwe still have to see how we'll proceed.14:09
ograNCommander, sebjan is on vacation this week and ndec is working on the tree merge, i dont think we need the tiem for cooloney anymore, robs patches will be in the next TI tree14:09
ogras/tiem/item/14:09
rsalvetiyep, I'm testing a couple of patches from rob14:09
rsalvetistill not fully working with hdmi and dvi yet14:10
=== oubiwann-away is now known as oubiwann
ograas long as you dont break my working monitor :P14:10
rsalvetithere's one patch that breaks the screen for hdmi, rob said he's going to work on this during this week14:10
rsalveticurrently I'm using some patches that will be inside the latest TI release plus some more rob's patches14:11
rsalvetithe question is, are we expecting to merge any other kernel patch until we get the official release from TI?14:11
ograi dont think so14:11
ograafaik the next merge will be the .35 kernel14:11
rsalvetiogra: but the other problem is that we still don't know when we're going to get it :-)14:11
ograthis week, ask ndec14:12
ograor cooloney14:12
rsalvetithe patches will be inside the new release, so the only problem is that in the future we should look at the release carefully to skip those patches14:12
rsalvetibut, cooloney or lag can say more about it14:12
rsalvetiI'm afraid of getting this patch into our tree just by the end of the month14:13
rsalvetiand until we get it, at least the LG monitors will be broken :-)14:13
NCommandercan I move on?14:13

ograoh, heh14:15
ograyou already corrected yourself14:15
NCommanderogra: figure I should post both since we just concluded A3 and started beta14:15

ogrado we know when persia will be done moving ?14:17
ograNCommander, any idea ?14:17
NCommanderogra: he's done moving.14:18
NCommanderI honestly don't know why he's not here, he was supposed to have internet restored yesterday14:18

* NCommander should add ericm to that14:19
ograNCommander, do you have any testplan for the "test unsupported hardware" item ?14:19
ograi.e. something you can give to GrueMaster14:19
ogra(i know the upgrade tests failed miserably)14:20
mpoirier/bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/591941: mmc -110 error - Rogue patch was identify.  Kernel team is not convinced the best way to address the problem is to revert patch.  Further discussion will take place today.14:20
mpoirier/bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/608266: no more /dev/mtdblock - the driver is compiled in but the base address is not properly set.  Init of mtd device changed between Lucid and Maverick.  Base address seem to have been left out.14:20
mpoirier...14:20
ogrampoirier, there were new patches added today14:20
NCommanderogra: using a Dove AVD1 board mostly. The flash-kernel changes work properly at this point if you trick the installer to install -dove kernel14:20
NCommanderogra: I'm just working on the installer bits now14:20
ogrampoirier, weird, i thought the base address needs to come from userspace tools14:20
mpoirierno, not for the initial scan.14:21
ograah, k14:21
ogralag, anything to add to the above ?14:22
NCommanderI'm guessingnot14:24

MootBotNew Topic:  QA Status (GrueMaster)14:24
GrueMasterAlpha 3 testing was rather rushed.14:24
ograomap4 was really good though14:24
ograi stopwatched the resizing today ;)14:24
=== serfus is now known as Guest21406
GrueMasterLast minute churn in the pool cause the images to be delayed until Wednesday.14:24
ogra2:30 for the whole resizing from plugging in power to seeing the oem-config wallpaper14:25
GrueMasterMost of the image testing was done on omap4 as it was faster, and both images are the same but for the kernel & boot loader bits.14:25
ograright, and we have the MMC errors in omap314:26
ograwhich kind of block the whol installation14:26

GrueMasterAre we done with kernel updates?14:29
lagYep14:29
ograother QA topics ?14:30
GrueMasterCurrent images fail to run oem-config.  Churn in the X drivers is holdig back image builds today.14:30
ograi still dont get why oem-config fails though14:30
ograit seems to detect an already running X server14:30
ograand then X refuses to start14:30
GrueMasterUpdates from A3 to current now make Unity run as default on Beagle.  Performance REAL slow now.14:31
ograadditionally we seem to have an issue with console switching, the X session stays up even though oem-config died14:31
ograyou need to hit enter to actually see the console thats already up on that tty14:31
rsalvetiGrueMaster: probably will be better with the sgx driver14:31
rsalvetibut still no support for it14:32
ograrsalveti, we wont have the SGX driver in our images14:32
rsalvetiogra: I know, but won't we have the option to install it later on?14:32
rsalvetilast step on oem-config, for example?14:32
NCommanderrsalveti: bit hard to install it without X in the first place14:32
GrueMasterIssue I reported at Sprint about Unity and bleed through was clearly visible on beagle.14:32
* rsalveti heard something like that14:32
ograGrueMaster, file a bug for the upgrade issue please, seems didrocks enforces unity somehow in his settings package14:32
ograNCommander, we have X and should provide the 2D session by default14:33
rsalvetiyep14:33
ograthe breakage is that unity enforces the switch during an upgrade14:33
GrueMasterok14:33

* NCommander is finally done travelling constantly thus might have a chance to do so14:34
* ogra sees a ton of new packages14:34
dyfetand I will have a patch for mutter14:34
RiddellKDE SC 4.5 just got uploaded last night14:35
ograNCommander, are you on top of the dh-shlibs thing ?14:35
Riddellonly kdebindings is broken on ARM, everything else is fine I think14:35
ograNCommander, still blocks libgd214:35
NCommanderogra: no.14:35
NCommanderogra: *sigh*, I'll get right on that.14:35
ograNCommander, thanks14:35
dyfetI had a temporary patch for libgd2 itself14:35
ograNCommander, i think there is a libc fix in debian we just need to pull14:35
ogradyfet, that makes it not use libc ?14:36
NCommanderogra: I talked to doko about that awhile ago, he wasn't sure what the cause is14:36
NCommanderI'm not inclined to spend a lot of time trying to properly fix it for maverick TBH14:36
dyfetyes, but i wanted to see what happens with the other changes14:36
ograNCommander, well, worst case just pull the old fix back into dh-shlibs14:37
NCommanderogra: that was the plan14:37
ograit worked for two reelases already ...14:37
ograi dont see a reason to not use the same until upstream is actually fixed14:37
* ogra sees clutk on the ftbfs list14:37

pittiKeybuk: did you follow the post app release process discussion on the ML?15:02
Keybukpitti: I haven't had working e-mail for over a week15:02

KeybukI don't remember seeing it, sorry15:03
pittinp15:03
pittiKeybuk: do you have something to discuss for the meeting?15:04
pittiif nobody else turns up, I'll ask the "kill sparc/ia64" topic on the ML15:04
* ScottK thought it was just kill sparc this cycle?15:04
Keybukpitti: that's the big topic for the next meeting15:04
Keybukwe said we'd give until feature freeze15:05
pittithere was an announcement/question some weeks ago, and I thought it included both15:05
Keybukit's _not_quite_ feature freeze yet15:05
pittiKeybuk: ah, understood15:05
pittiKeybuk: so, I'll just leave it on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TechnicalBoardAgenda then15:05
Keybukit does include both15:05
Keybukboth ia64 and sparc will be dropped after thursday15:05
Keybukwe'll do that formally at the next meeting I think15:05
Keybukor maybe just in the ML in the meantime15:05

pittisabdfl: do you have anything to discuss?15:09
pittihttps://wiki.ubuntu.com/TechnicalBoardAgenda is the current topic list; ports already got moved to next meeting15:09
sabdflnothing from me to add to the agenda15:10
pittiok, timing out I'd say; we don't have quorum, and the two topics are from absent members15:15

MootBotNew Topic:  Status: Maverick (ogasawara)18:08
ogasawaraSince our Maverick kernel is now rebased on v2.6.35, we've started applying 2.6.35.y pre-stable patches.  We'll keep Maverick in sync with the 2.6.35.y releases as they become available.18:08
ogasawaraMaverick Beta is Thurs Sept 2nd, ie ~3weeks away.  Also keep in mind that Kernel Freeze is Thurs Sept 16th, ie ~5weeks away.  We are above our Beta burn down chart's trend line but I'm not too worried as most of the open tasks are investigative in nature and not release critical.18:09

smbtgardner, Re: fsl board killer18:10
smbI think I got a rough idea. There seem to be v2.5 and v3 boards. Claims are that there is something with an acronym I  don't know18:10
smbwhich can get destroyed by apparently all older kernels. Bryan just made a SRU reguest for a patch that fsl claims prevents this18:11
smbHow we could have ended up with testing only on v3 boards before is a bit of a miracle.18:11
smb..18:11
tgardnersmb, but with no feedback from FSL that it actually fixes the problem.18:11
smbI have not heard anything direct18:12

We will continue to have the Team Bug Day to address the Top 50 list as half days on Friday and Monday, as these seem to be working out very well. Reviewers, please take a look at your needs-review lists and help us keep the process moving. I will be in Oxford,18:14

JFoGreat work is being done daily in our bugs due to many folks from other userspace systems helping to triage as well as providing numerous nuggets of wisdom to the bug reporters themselves. We met simar during last weeks meeting. simar is workin on expanding multitouch knowledge and looking over those bugs. holstein has been looking at kernel bugs and is currently undergoing bug mentorship with hggdh. I have been mentoring chazn85 also, focusing on18:15
JFo tagging and requests for information. chazn85 has also been looking through our wiki documentation to bring inconsistencies to my attention.18:15
