rhpot1991MoMo: have more than 1 tuner00:07
MoModamn00:07
ZinnMoMo: Please watch your language.00:08
rhpot1991unless you have a tuner that supports multirec00:08
rhpot1991http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/record_multiple_channels_from_one_multiplex00:08
Zinn[www.mythtv.org] Record multiple channels from one multiplex - MythTV00:08
MoMoi have a haupagge hvr-160000:16
MoMohmmm -- so in the mythbuntu backend where do i set this multirec00:22
MoMoalso -- when i change my theme .. it never updates00:29
MoMoanyone know a good tutorial that i pull up for mythtv in a client/server setup -- this is a pain in the ass trying to guesstimate what i need to do00:53
ZinnMoMo: Please watch your language.00:53
hadsMythTV is client/server by default.02:04
ChaorainHey all, I have some wmv files that I want to work with Mythtv, Every time I convert them either the sound is off or the video won't play. Can someone recomend a good converter program03:00
MoMohads: i understand that ... is there a tutorial regardless?03:04
MoMoshould i make all my frontend's have secondary backends?03:05
MoMoi'm really confused at this whole process.  interfacing with my cable company and all.  I have the haupaggue HVR-1600 ... if I'm correct it supports multiple tuners on the one card ... but i have no clue how to enable that03:24
tgm4883MoMo, did you look at the wiki?03:34
MoMoyes, i'm not find it as easy as i would like ... i'm constantly doing the TIAS method and breaking things03:36
mycosys1is 0.23.1 in the ubuntu repos?04:31
superm1!autobuilds04:31
mycosys1or would i have to go dailys04:31
ZinnSorry I don't know about autobuilds04:31
superm1dailys04:31
mycosys1bother04:31
superm1well it's not like autobuilds aren't stable though04:32
mycosys1you again superm1 - must say you have years of being extremely helpful04:32
superm1thanks :)04:32
mycosys1iirc i think i followed ur guides to get xvmc up04:32
tgm4883also, you have to manually edit it for 0.23.104:33
tgm4883i'm working on it right now though :)04:33
mycosys1edit what?04:33
mycosys1is the new replacement for init still causing issues?04:33
mycosys1makes me uneasy - i am so used to how init.d works04:35
mycosys1!0.23.104:35
ZinnSorry I don't know about 0.23.104:35
mycosys1!init.d04:35
ZinnSorry I don't know about init.d04:35
mycosys1bother again04:35
superm1he's not referring to the init changes04:36
superm1he's referring to the PPA for 0.23.104:36
superm1you have to manually change your repo to it after turning on autobuilds04:36
superm1because the autobuilds logic didn't expect point releases04:36
mycosys1thats not hard04:36
superm1the PPA is still building daily04:36
tgm4883!stab mcc-backend04:37
superm1er well not daily necessarily, only when upstream makes changes04:37
* Zinn stabs mcc-backend with a WASP knife.04:37
tgm4883I always forget that I have to restart that if I make changes to root changes04:37
mycosys1what is the init.d replacement again?04:37
tgm4883upstart04:38
mycosys1does it still have start scripts ala /etc/init.d04:38
superm1they're in /etc/init04:39
superm1there are compatibility links in init.d though04:39
superm1so old style commands should work too04:39
mycosys1sweet - was may main worry04:40
mycosys1have had to use them a lot in my time04:40
mycosys1*my04:40
superm1really, the new way is far simpler04:41
mycosys1sounds like it04:42
tgm4883and more robust04:42
superm1http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mythbuntu/mythtv/mythtv-fixes/annotate/head:/debian/mythtv-backend.upstart04:42
mycosys1any advantage/disadvantage to amd64 on mythbuntu atm?04:42
Zinn[bazaar.launchpad.net] ~mythbuntu/mythtv/mythtv-fixes : contents of debian/mythtv-backend.upstart at revision 30004:42
superm1that's what the upstart job for mythtv-backend looks like04:42
mycosys1simpler is an understatement04:43
tgm4883superm1, i'll probably be bugging you about some debian config file stuff in a bit04:44
tgm4883so don't go anywhere :)04:44
* superm1 hides04:44
mycosys1so - the 64bit question - so i can hit download. mainly any reason not to go amd6404:45
* tgm4883 shrugs04:45
tgm4883I use amd6404:45
tgm4883flash isn't very good, not sure how well it works on 32-bit04:45
tgm4883I don't use flash all that much though, just when I lose a show04:45
rhpot1991flash sucks04:46
mycosys1is a dedicated backend/frontend - tho i sometimes will xforward/ssh in to do stuff i cant on a win box04:46
mycosys1flash is non issue04:46
mycosys1we r talkin adobe flash right?04:48
* tgm4883 resists the urge to say we are talking about camera flashes04:48
rhpot1991tgm4883: camera flash sucks too04:49
mycosys1:P ie as adverse to nand flash lol04:49
rhpot1991real men get a good lens that doesn't need flash04:49
mycosys1nand flash is rather nice however04:49
mycosys1(1:49:13 PM) rhpot1991: real men get a good lens that doesn't need flash <<< 'umbrella' flashes are rather nice04:49
rhpot1991mycosys1: if you are bouncing flash then thats acceptable04:50
mycosys1no other way to go on a 'real' camera04:51
mycosys1even if it means gaffing white card to an adjustable head flash outdoors04:52
mycosys1if any of you want my help in return i can commonly be found on whirlpool.net.au desktops forum, or efnet #desktops04:56

hipitihopdoes mythbuntu install and setup mysql ? and if so, how do I know what the root user password is ?14:23
hipitihopI'm tryingb to install freeswitch with bluebox on the same box as my mythtv but I see that mysql has already been installed14:25
greglhipitihop, /home/mythtv/.mythtv/mysql.txt14:33
hipitihopgregl, thanks, that probably has the mythtv db password, but I have found my root password anyway14:34
hipitihopgregl, however can you tell me if webserver section of the following instructions http://www.voipkb.com/wiki/index.php/Install:Linux#Ubuntu is likely to interfere with MythWeb14:38
Zinn[www.voipkb.com] Install:Linux - VOIPKB14:38
Gibby1313I noticed the accuweather script gone from mythweather now, i downloaded it and put in the place it was, got it working on 2 front ends but the other front end doesn't recognize it, i made sure the permissions are correct, am I missing something?18:21
rhpot1991hipitihop: your root mysql password should match your user's password IIRC18:44
rhpot1991you can set it by sudo dpkg-reconfigure mysql5-server18:44
Gibby1313any mythzoneminder users in here? I am having an issue with the green haze22:02
hipitihoprhpot1991, indeed you are right, it is same as my user, thanks.23:39
kcormierHey all.23:45
kcormierI want to be able to stream audio from my laptop to my myth box.  In other words, allow the myth box to act as the speakers for all audio coming from my laptop.  is that possible?23:47
kcormierI'm imagining my best bet would be with pulse, but wondering if anyone else has any input.23:57
