=== bjf is now known as bjf[afk] [01:09] skaet: I've just sent email to the team re my action item from last weeks release meeting ("ogasawara to track grub gfxpayload=keep for Natty pre-work") [01:10] skaet: do you want me to mark that as DONE for friday's release meeting, or would you prefer that I not edit that page? [04:19] ogawawara, go ahead and edit it, to mark it done. :) thanks! === bjf[afk] is now known as bjf [17:08] It would be convenient if someone would process NBS to make the list a little more accessible. [17:39] ogra: around? I wanted to raise bug 613855 here with the release team in order to get a beta freeze exception to upload a new kernel. [17:39] ogasawara, sure i am :) [17:39] see my last reply on the ML [17:39] Launchpad bug 613855 in linux (Ubuntu Maverick) (and 1 other project) "omap3 beagle XM MMC card always comes up readonly (affects: 1) (heat: 256)" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/613855 [17:40] ogra: yep, just read it. [17:40] skaet, robbiew: around? some last minute patches just came in to resolve 613855. This however would require us uploading a new kernel. [17:42] ogasawara: hey [17:42] skaet, robbiew: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2010-August/012421.html captures the meat of the reason for needing a beta freeze exception. [17:42] * robbiew reads [17:42] * robbiew is reminded that he needs to send the Freeze announcement as well [17:42] heh [17:45] ogasawara: seems fine to me [17:46] robbiew: cool, I'll prepare an upload then. Thanks. [17:46] ogasawara: yep...and I'll prepare the Freeze announcement...heh [17:46] heh [17:48] * skaet notes timing of freeze announcements to her "future todo lists... " ;) [17:49] ogasawara, gah, why did you ask robbiew ? now he remembers the announcement ! [17:50] heh [17:51] This was not a good thing. A few more hours would have pleased everyone [17:51] my bad [17:57] persia: it's okay...I got some other things in the pipeline before I get to the Freeze Announcment ;) [17:58] It's a handy thing that those who send release announcements tend to be in deep negative timezones. === apachelogger is now known as apache2logger [18:27] ogasawara: thanks for pushing the xm fixes :-) [18:28] rsalveti: np. just finishing up a quick test build before I upload. [18:29] cool [18:30] * ogra cries about losing another buildd for 16h ... but you cant have everything i guess :) [18:31] * ScottK senses a need for another upload of qt4-x11 and qt4-qws just to make ogra feel better. [18:31] grrr [18:32] :-) [18:32] we're only 78 packages and 13h behind :) [18:32] Just imagine if someone were to fix openjdk & rebuild openoffice. [18:32] and have no working images yet [18:33] GrueMaster, OO.o is hogging one buildd already [18:33] luckily the maverick upload failed today else we would have one buildd less [18:34] since linaro and TI started using our buildds too the situation got really bad ... we urgently need more armel builders [18:34] but what else is new [18:35] * ogra will propose that packages get a maximum size limit at some point :P [18:35] Anything I can do to help with the Dove-X0 and Babbage I have that are consuming electrons to blink lights? [18:35] if its more than 1M big you have to split ... muhahaha [18:36] i doubt lamont can make use of them at your house :) [18:36] He just needs to add their ipv6 addresses to the table. [18:50] heh === bjf is now known as bjf[afk] [20:07] persia: ogra: buuurrrrrrrr...it's getting cold in here :P [20:07] freeze is on :) [20:07] crap, i''ll need a ton of freeze exceptions [20:07] we dont even have booting images yet, so we cant apply the pending fixes [20:08] ogra: perhaps you can create a Master Freeze Exception request [20:08] ogra: it's armel...who uses that anyway [20:08] lol [20:08] joking of course [20:09] something like that, i need to figure out where we stand first, i applied some fixes already but we need to wait for oem-config to work again ... so i'm somehat depending on the next ubiquity upload [20:09] robbiew, only the vendors ;) [20:09] and indeed us poor developers :) [20:10] ogra meet ev, ev meet ogra [20:10] lol [20:10] lol [20:10] he knows i'm waiting [20:10] ogra: If you can make a bug of what you need uploaded to get to beta (a list) and when you expect to have it, I don't mind approving a set of changes at once. [20:10] i would have done an upload but there were lots of changes in the works when our fix entered the tree so i felt i'd better wait [20:11] ScottK, well, i need images first to see whats needed, i know one -settings package for sure but thats trivial [20:11] OK. [20:11] for the other packages we need to go step by step through the breakage [20:12] Just seeing if we could minimize the paperwork. [20:12] and we at least still have some time for that [20:12] * ogra would love to but that requires to know whats broken in advance [20:12] as soon as i do i'll file the necessary bit, probably as a list === bjf[afk] is now known as bjf [20:22] robbiew and skaet: Historically the beta freeze only applies to seeded packages. We don't have a way to just freeze those, so all packages need manual approval, but we just push the unseeded Universe packages through without review. I'm expecting we'll do that again. [20:23] ack [20:24] * skaet makes note of this too... [20:40] cjwatson: Can we have the release bot? [21:43] can someone approve ubiquity 2.3.8? [22:08] looks like someone just has [22:08] someone else is working on the queue, then? ScottK? [22:08] I approved it [22:08] we discussed it in -install [22:09] ok [22:10] * Riddell away until monday afternoon [22:11] Riddell: have a good weekend! [22:16] * ScottK looked at a couple of things, but isn't processing the queue. === bjf is now known as bjf[afk]
