ryefacundobatista, hi, on my netbook i have Documents folder which is listed in list-folders, but which causes KeyError when i try to get metadata info for it, rescan-from-scratch produces errors in logs so i cannot make it sync again, that folder is shared between 2 computers so removing and re-adding is not really an option15:24
=== dendro-afk is now known as dendrobates
rye010-09-07 16:27:29,358 - ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.EQ - DEBUG - push_event: VM_UDF_SUBSCRIBE_ERROR, args:(dbus.String(u'5577d808-6a3f-4873-8b27-1fd644bd7e20'), 'METADATA_DOES_NOT_EXIST'), kw:{}15:28
ryegrrr15:28
facundobatistaverterok, ^15:29
facundobatistarye, would you please dump your metadata and show us the result?15:30
verterokrye: it's a UDF or share?15:30
ryeverterok, UDF15:30
verterokrye: with a share inside it?15:30
ryeverterok, yes, there are shares within that folder and public files15:31
verterokok15:31
verterokrye: please dump the metadata as facundobatista requested :)15:31
ryeverterok, sure... fetchin' and dumpin'15:31
ryefacundobatista, btw, once that METADATA_DOES_NOT_EXIST happens there is another stacktrace about variable usage before assignment15:32
verterokrye: please pastebin :)15:32
ryeverterok, - stacktrace- http://paste.ubuntu.com/489846/, metadata - https://pastebin.canonical.com/36810/, but i tried unsubscribing/subscribing to the folder so right now it is not subscribed, therefore not seen (probably)15:35
verterokrye: ok, there is a bug (the traceback)15:36
verterokrye: but isn't related to the METADATA_DOES_NOT_EXIST15:36
verterokrye: could you file a bug with just the traceback, I'll fix it today :)15:36
ryeverterok, yes, that is something that should never happen, i just want to get Documents folder on this netbook :)15:37
ryeverterok, ok, filing-a-bug15:37
verterokhmm, the udf id is correct15:37
facundobatistarye, yes, bugs should never happen15:37
* verterok get his squash-the-bugs hat15:38
ryeverterok, bug #63243915:40
ubot4Launchpad bug 632439 in ubuntuone-client "UnboundLocalError when an error occurs during udf subscription (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Low,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/63243915:40
verterokfacundobatista: no idea why isn't finding it15:40
verterokrye: thanks!15:40
ryeverterok, you are welcome... though i have no idea where that metadata item went and another thing - how can I make it come back15:40
verterokrye: I assume that u1sdtool --list-folders shows the Documents folder15:40
verterokright?15:41
ryeverterok, yes, exactly, it shows the folders, but metadata request for /home/rtg/Documents results in KeyError15:41
verterokfacundobatista: I think I got it15:41
verterokrye, facundobatista: there is no metadata in fsm for that node :/15:41
facundobatistaverterok, oh15:42
verterokrye: I think 'u1sdtool --refresh-folders' should fix it15:42
verterokrye: sorry, --refresh-volumes :p15:42
verterokfacundobatista: broken metadata? or we can just blame rye for running Chipaca's magic bash scripts to delete empty folders in the metadata? hehe15:43
* verterok hides15:43
ryeverterok, tried - 2010-09-07 16:42:58,836 - ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.VM - DEBUG - add_udf: <UDF id '5577d808-6a3f-4873-8b27-1fd644bd7e20', generation 311L, real path '/home/rtg/Documents'> and nothing after that15:43
facundobatistaverterok, maybe a rescan from scratch will help him?15:44
verterokrye: now, dump the metadata again (and/or try to subscribe )15:44
ryefacundobatista, verterok, no, rescan from scratch does not help as well15:44
verterokrye: and please, pastebin the metadata dump15:44
verterokfacundobatista: no, becasue this is a vm-fsm issue15:44
ryeu1sdtool --subscribe=5577d808-6a3f-4873-8b27-1fd644bd7e2015:45
ryeFolderSubscribeError: METADATA_DOES_NOT_EXIST (id=5577d808-6a3f-4873-8b27-1fd644bd7e20)15:45
verterokfacundobatista: vm has the "volume" metadata, but fsm doesn't know about the node15:45
verterokcrap15:45
verterokrye: checking the code, gimme 5'15:45
ryeverterok, metadata dump - https://pastebin.canonical.com/36811/15:46
verterokrye: ok, the refresh volumes will not work because volume manager ignores the volumes already in the metadata :/15:46
verterokfacundobatista: ^15:46
* rye has not performed any experiments with syncdaemon on this netbook...15:46
verterokrye: :)15:46
verterokrye: there is a workaround15:47
verterokbut it's just that, a workaround :(15:47
facundobatistaverterok, we should detect this situation without needing the user to issue any command15:47
verterokfacundobatista: yes15:47
verterokfacundobatista: thinking on that15:47
facundobatistaverterok, what about checking the node in FSM while server rescanning?15:47
verterokfacundobatista: yes, and on AQ_LIST_VOLUMES (after your branch will be the same ;) )15:48
verterokrye: the workaround is: 1) u1sdtool -1; 2) delete the metadata of that volume 3) u1sdtool --start && u1sdtool -c15:49
ryeverterok, aha, doing....15:49
verterokrye: to delete only that metadata, I think it's: rm ~/.local/share/ubuntuone/syncdaemon/vm/udfs/5/5/7/5577d808-6a3f-4873-8b27-1fd644bd7e2015:50
ryeverterok, there's also .old file, should I nuke it as well?15:51
verterokrye: yes15:51
=== dendrobates is now known as dendro-afk
verterokrye: if you didn't changed the default "subscribe by default" config, it shoudl start the sync of that dir on startup15:51
ryeverterok, wooho, files are coming!15:52
ryeverterok, thanks! Should I file bug about that? Unfortunately I have no idea about how that could have happened, though15:52
verterokrye: my guess is corrupted/broken FSM metadata, but it's just a guess15:53
verterokrye: yes, we should have a bug15:53
verterokrye: the title might be something like: volume and filesystem manager metadata out of sync(?)15:54
verterokfacundobatista: ^ any ideas :)15:54
=== dendro-afk is now known as dendrobates
facundobatistaverterok, yes, a bug, and the fix for it will be VM assuring it has the node in FSM15:56
verterokfacundobatista: yes, VM assumes the node is there since it was created when the UDF was created, I'll take a look at where we can check for the fsm node15:57
facundobatistaverterok, awesome, thanks16:01

kklimondarodrigo_: execute_view_2 because I'm an idiot.. I've seriously pushed it? :/17:02
kklimondarodrigo_: ah, in header17:02
kklimondarodrigo_: there is one more thing - _execute_view should return, along with list of items, two more things - the total amount of rows in the database and the offset. They are both in the response and I see a use for at least the first one. Probably we should add CouchdbResult struct? I'm not really eager to add any more arguments to the fucntion itself :)17:09
