intraderReporting back about bug 631130. An automatic update updated the NVIDIA driver to version .18 (from .17). I am still testing, but it seems better. I have noted in bug report02:46
ubot2Launchpad bug 631130 in opensuse (and 3 other projects) "In all apps, slow UI since 10.04 install (affects: 2) (dups: 1) (heat: 20)" [Undecided,Invalid] https://launchpad.net/bugs/63113002:46
xelisterkmail's address book is unusable, making entire program unsuitable for any serious use05:39
xelisterhttps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdepim/+bug/643248  can we set its prio05:39
ubot2Ubuntu bug 643248 in kdepim (Ubuntu) "kmail problems with kaddressbook - what is used for autocomplete, how to edit it (affects: 1) (heat: 8)" [Undecided,New]05:39
persiaxelister, Looks like it's "Medium" to me (normal class of bug), but I don't like to set importance until we're a little closer to having any idea why it doesn't work, personally.05:46

micahgwhere would a bug against the xfce menu go?08:47
persiaProbably xfce3-panel or libsfcemenu08:48
persiaErr, libxfce4menu08:48
* micahg will file against the panel, there are 2 entries for logout08:49
persiaAnd xfce4-panel08:49
persiaOh, that might be a xubuntu-settings thing.  Dunno.08:49
* micahg will file and check with charlie-tca later08:50
persiaThat's best :)  It probably needs triage to determine what causes the issue: same as with gnome-panel, where any of 10 packages can cause the issue08:50
mr_pouitmicahg: can you make a screenshot of that?09:25
micahgmr_pouit: how can I get the menu to stay open for a screenshor?09:26
mr_pouitmmh, add a delay?09:26
micahgmr_pouit: will do09:27
micahgmr_pouit: done, bug 64496909:32
ubot2Launchpad bug 644969 in xfce4-panel (Ubuntu) "2 Log Out menu entries in the Xfce menu (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/64496909:32
mr_pouitthanks09:34
mr_pouitmicahg: I think you're using the default menu file (from xfce not xubuntu)09:35
micahgmr_pouit: how can I check?09:35
mr_pouitin the plugin configuration, check from which directory is the menu file09:36
* micahg doesn't know where that is09:38
mr_pouitmicahg: mmmh, $HOME/.config/xfce4/panel/menu-plugin.rc or something like that09:41
micahgmr_pouit: it doesn't show one09:41
mr_pouitmicahg: do you use gdm?09:43
micahgmr_pouit: I switched to kdm09:44
mr_pouitand do you use the 'xfce' or 'xubuntu' session?09:44
* micahg can make sure that the xubuntu session is loaded next time and verify09:44
* micahg doesn't remember09:44
mr_pouitanyway, it will probably only work with gdm09:44
micahgoh?  that sounds like a bug09:45
mr_pouitmicahg: well, that's not really a bug, it just relies on a gdm script which sets XDG_CONFIG_DIRS automatically...09:46
micahgoh, so maybe it's a bug in kdm if that's not being set09:46
mr_pouitwell, wishlist at most, but the xsession.d script from gdm is ubuut-specific afaik09:47
micahgI have a xfce4-menu-1.rc file in that directory09:47
micahgwell, I won't switch back to gdm until they fix the user list issue09:47
persiawhich user list issue?09:49
micahgpersia: no option to turn off the user list, was that fixed for maverick?09:49
mr_pouitmicahg: anyway, these extras menu entries are added by xubuntu-default-settings, but with the xubuntu default menu file, the old ones are not visible (with the xfce4 menu file, they are though, and I don't really intend to fix that)09:50
mr_pouitmicahg: so you can probably set $XDG_CONFIG_DIRS manually to fix that09:50
micahgmr_pouit: k, thanks09:50
persiamicahg, No idea (but it oughtn't be that hard to fix if one wants to fiddle)09:50
micahglooks like it should be fixed, I'll try it now09:52
micahgbrb09:52
cjaeok this is a huge and I have mentioned it since 7.04, if someone adds an incorrect deb line via gui or /etc/apt/sources.list the gui will crash letting non-cli users fix it09:58
cjaethe only way I can see to fix it is editing sources list09:58
cjaeby gui I mean synaptic09:59
micahgmr_pouit: looks much better with xubuntu session10:03
micahgpersia: gdm user list thing still broke10:03

devildanteany reasons why?16:51
devildante(kamusin also can't access it)16:52
kamusinmicahg,  sorry for the noise16:52
charlie-tcasometimes access also depends on the actual package it is filed against17:02
devildanteI suppose it could be a private bug against Launchpad itself?17:02

kamusinwell .. we tried  devildante :P17:06

dandelwhich channel is the best channel to report and help test backport bugs?17:07
devildantethis one? :p17:08
* devildante is not sure17:08
dandelok... then i'll get to reporting.17:08
dandelbug 607505 - (Vlc backport), has broken 64-bit packages on the testing.17:08
ubot2Launchpad bug 607505 in lucid-backports "[test-pkg-a] Please backport VLC 1.1.3 (affects: 4) (heat: 25)" [Undecided,Incomplete] https://launchpad.net/bugs/60750517:08
dandelall that is seen is the 32-bit packages, and no 64-bit packages.17:09
micahgdandel: it should be 1.1.4 at thsi point17:09
devildanteThey will come in due time17:09
micahgdandel: I had the same issue when I tried to backport it17:09
dandel1.1.4 or 1.1.3 doesn't matter... what matters is the testing packages that are put up don't always include the 64-bit version.17:10
micahgdandel: well, it's the responsibility of the whoever is driving/requesting the backport to work on it17:10
dandelanother bug that is showing a break is bug 58504517:10
ubot2Launchpad bug 585045 in lucid-backports "[test-pkg-a] Please backport Calibre 0.7.13 (affects: 2) (heat: 10)" [Undecided,Incomplete] https://launchpad.net/bugs/58504517:10
micahgdandel: there's nothing to report there, you can poke in #ubuntu-motu if a dev is available to look at it17:11

GrueMasterI have a couple of bugs that I don't think are armel specific, but more netbook image related.  Problem is I don't know what to file them against.22:14
GrueMasterOne is when I insert a USB drive, I get two file managers and a dbus error window.  Second is gnome-codec-install will fail if universe is not available in /etc/apt/sources.list.22:14
GrueMasterI don't know what creates sources.list on our preinstalled images, and haven't tried to reproduce it on x86 yet.  The other bug I have seen before on x86 but it has been a while.22:15
GrueMasterAny ideas?22:22
