[00:05] @bluescream does it work with Ardour? [01:16] yes, you can control and play all your synthesizers and other midi apps live with your pc keyboard, connect and record them by jack to ardour. [01:16] http://ubuntu.pastebin.com/RwZnRT52 [01:20] That looks much nicer than vkeybd [01:22] don't follow this link I forgot how to work with pastebin [01:24] yes vmpk is much more elaborated [01:26] * persia wonders why it's "Priority: extra" [01:32] Odd. keyboard only seems to control one octave, split between two "hands". With the "left hand", I seem to only be able to press three keys at once, and four with the "right hand" [01:39] no such limits here [01:44] Pressing 'Z'+'X'+'C'+'S'+'D' gets you 5-note dischordant polyphony? [01:45] I did find a second octave (more like 1.5 octaves) though: seems to be a 2-manual device (which is nifty in many ways) [01:46] (from 'Q' and from 'Z') [01:57] you're right, these are limitations by these pc-keyboards. They are not constructed for this use. Same with virtualkeyboard. It's a poor substitute for real piano keys [02:00] you can modify settings like octave space, language specific keys etc [02:14] imo you will not use a pc keybord to perform live music with virtuosity. They are just useful for saving an idea or as an additional controller i.E. for a continuo in a complex performance [02:41] Ah, so it's a PC keyboard limitation? Using a fancier keyboard (e.g. a gaming keyboard) might allow wider use? That sounds promising. [02:41] (and yes, one hopes anyone serious about it is able to get a proper master keyboard) [05:00] Buenas noches! Alguien habla español? [05:01] Some folks do, but the charter for this channel is English-only. [05:01] !es [05:01] En la mayoría de canales de Ubuntu se habla sólo en inglés. Si busca ayuda en español o charlar entra en el canal #ubuntu-es. Escribe "/join #ubuntu-es" (sin comillas) y dale a enter. [05:01] You can ask a question in Spanish if you must, but no promises that anyone both knows the answer and reads+writes Spanish is around. [05:03] gracias! === Jim-_- is now known as Jim0_o
