George_eIs there a way to display some text beside an AppIndicator icon?00:54
George_eI searched what I thought were the docs, but I didn't see anything.00:55
RAOFGeorge_e: I'm not sure myself, but the keyboard layout switching indicator displays some text next to its icon.01:11
RAOFSo I guess the answer is “yes’ :)01:11
George_eIs it possible within Python, though?01:12
RAOFAgain, I'd guess the answer to be “yes”01:13
RAOFBut I don't know.01:13
RAOFI presume the python bindings are sufficiently complete to make it work.01:13
George_eWhere can I get the source to the keyboard layout switching indicator?01:13
George_eI might look that over and try to figure it out.01:13
RAOFOh, it's probably part of the gnome-settings-daemon package.01:15
George_eOkay.01:17
George_eI downloaded the source for that package from the Maverick repos. but I'm having trouble with the layout of the .tar.gz01:27
George_eWhere exactly is the code for the applet?01:27
George_eThe README is empty :01:28
RAOFIt's probably not going to be an applet; it'll be a part of the keyboard layout plugin, I'd guess.01:51
cmulkhello everyone. I'm on the cardapio menu team and I'm trying to work on a bug posted here https://bugs.launchpad.net/cardapio/+bug/651803. When the cardapio menu is activated, the indicator-appmenu sees it as an application and tries to display a menu, showing only File. Is there a way to make the appmenu completely ignore cardapio?04:34
ubot5Launchpad bug 651803 in Cardapio "Cardapio conflicts with indicator-applet-appmenu (affected: 1, heat: 6)" [Low,Triaged]04:34
cmulki tried exporting UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0 as suggested on the bug report page, but unfortunately this causes an error that makes cardapio fail to load as an applet04:42
George_eI can't seem to get any images to show up next to menu items.07:36
George_eThe exact same code works in an ordinary PyGTK app.07:36

George_etedg: I'm having a bit of trouble getting images / icons to appear next to menu items in an AppIndicator.18:46
George_etedg: Here is a small sample you can use to reproduce: http://pastebin.com/mtwmG0jn18:47
senseGeorge_e: You mean that you can't get menu items to have icons? That's a system wide settings for all menus.18:48
George_esense: I know - I changed that.18:49
George_esense: I can get stock icons to show up, but not images.18:49
senseGeorge_e: Ah, I see.18:49
senseIn that case Ted will probably of better help to you. :)18:50
