Picilayn: Um.  Hi00:23
laynPici: hi00:24
laynhow do00:24
layn?00:24
Picilayn: I'm okay.  I'm also wondering what you're trying to do.00:24
laynpici :)00:25
laynPici:  I tried to test a pastebin command00:26
micahglayn: it works from the command line00:27
Picilayn: You'll need to 1) have pastebinit installed, 2) Use the command in a terminal, not on IRC.00:27
laynPici:  ah ok00:27
laynPici:  i played in the meantime that I update my beloved database00:28
laynPici: the last time I made updates to the system I had strange problems00:29
laynPici:  I speak of 10.1000:30
Picilayn: If you're looking for support, #ubuntu or #ubuntu-server would be a better place to ask.  If you need help filing a bug, just ask here, but address the entire channel, not just me.00:31
laynPici: more than anything else I was wondering if it had happened to other00:32
oliver602hum theres a lot of 'slow printing' bugs00:41
drizzlehello all01:26
drizzlewhat is the package normally associated with suspend/resume functionality01:26
yofeldepends where it fails, could be kernel (linux), pm-suspend or even X01:29
drizzlethank you01:32
palhmbsoliver602, slow printing bugs? -- I've noticed with CUPS that when printing multiple copies of PDF's that it has to send/process each individual page, instead of letting the printer handle multiples of 1 page.01:48
oliver602i just drew a few simple shapes in inkscape, which printed fine, however when i added drop shadows with transperency, i ended up canceling the print job after 4 minutes of gs using 100% cpu. I find the same thing with pdfs with shadows or transperency in them too01:52
micahgoliver602: please file a bug with a sample file if you have one you can feely share01:54
oliver602Bug #66880001:54
ubot2Launchpad bug 668800 in ghostscript (Ubuntu) "Printing speed problem (affects: 2) (dups: 1) (heat: 16)" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/66880001:54
oliver602there are 2 test documents attached01:55

dlbike76Hi does anyone know Evolution well?  I'm looking at bug 668552.  It looks similar to bug 573659, but I cannot reproduce it.  The screenshots in the bug report show the problem that is occurring though.04:01
ubot2Launchpad bug 668552 in evolution (Ubuntu) "error in window positioning (affects: 1) (heat: 8)" [Undecided,Incomplete] https://launchpad.net/bugs/66855204:01
ubot2Launchpad bug 573659 in evolution (Ubuntu) "Compose new email window incorrectly resizes when viewing attachment bar (affects: 1) (heat: 20)" [Low,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/57365904:01
dlbike76I asked the reporter to run apport, but apport didn't attach anything but dependencies.txt.04:02
dlbike76I think there is enough to confirm the bug, but not sure if there is enough info to debug it and find the root cause.04:04
micahghggdh: ^^04:05
hggdhlooking04:45
hggdhdlbike76: it would be nice to know if the user is running Unity. But indeed it looks like 573659, and I think you can set it as a duplicate.04:49
hggdhdlbike76: also, please update the description as suggested in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Description (specially last version tested)04:50
geekosopherare we still using the ubuntu-unr tag for maverick?05:46

geekosophernigelb, simar I recently read about harvest.ubuntu.com, nifty way of picking up projects08:29

hggdhJFo: hey, care to have a look at bug 657901? I frankly cannot see that as anything above low, but indeed I do not see why we need wireless-crda on a virtual kernel19:42
ubot2Launchpad bug 657901 in linux (Ubuntu) "linux-virtual depends on wireless-crda (affects: 2) (heat: 12)" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/65790119:42
JFohggdh, indeed I will look :)19:42
hggdhJFo: thank you very much ;-)19:43
JFomy pleasure of course :)19:44
* hggdh seems to have been bit by the UDS cold...19:58
kklimonda_oh? too bad :)20:04
kklimonda_I'm great myself.. other than still a little tired20:05
kklimonda_but after this night I should be fine20:05
charlie-tcaI think I survived, too! I don't seem to anything but tired, myself.20:09
hggdhheh. At least you both are doing OK :-)20:09
charlie-tcaSorry you don't feel so good, really :-(20:10
hggdhcharlie-tca: don't worry -- I will either survive or die ;-) but my humour is still intact20:11
hggdhor lack of said, or course20:11
kklimonda_meh, how bad can it be?20:11
kklimonda_you will be fine in no time!20:12
hggdhLOL. I have no idea, I rarely get a cold (at least I do not remember any in the last years)20:12
kklimonda_but for now rest, don't triage too much etc. ;)20:12
charlie-tcaThen you are due for one, aren't you?20:12
hggdhstatistically, I am overdue for one, yes.20:13
sbeattieCan someone accept the lucid nomination for bug 605835, please? Thanks in advance.20:13
ubot2Launchpad bug 605835 in apparmor (Ubuntu) "/usr/share/ca-certificates is missing from /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/ssl_certs (affects: 2) (dups: 1) (heat: 35)" [Undecided,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/60583520:13
hggdhsbeattie: done. I thought you would be able to do that yourself?20:15
sbeattiehggdh: I'm for some reason no longer able to.20:15
hggdhweird... LP magic, perhaps?20:16
hggdhnowadays I have no idea what permissions I have...20:18
kklimonda_aren't you in some secret cabal called Canonical or similar? You can probably do anything ;)20:19
micahghggdh: qa team is part of ubuntu-drivers20:19
hggdhoh20:19
hggdhkklimonda_: so yes, I am part of a secret cabal20:20
kklimonda_micahg: o/20:20
hggdhbut I cannot do anything (neither want to have this responsability)20:20
hggdhsbeattie: this may be it.20:21
kklimonda_yeah, imagine amount of work you would be given because of that ;)20:21
hggdhNO! Enough!20:21
* hggdh wants a job, not work ;-)20:21
palhmbsjob =! work ??? -- that's preposterous20:25

joumetalhi. any advice to bug 659405?20:28
ubot2Launchpad bug 659405 in xorg (Ubuntu) (and 1 other project) "Xorg crashes on suspend (affects: 1) (heat: 185)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/65940520:28
hggdhpalhmbs: job == meny with no effort; work == effort, sometimes with money20:29
charlie-tcajoumetal: what happens with the standard kernel included in Ubuntu 10.04 ?20:30
charlie-tcaThe reporter is using the 2.6.36 kernel, perhaps that is part of the issue20:31
palhmbshggdh, well - job as defined in the urbandictionary differs greatly --- http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=job -- "My job allows me to pay endless bills, envy my friends and witness my family fall apart"20:31
joumetalcharlie-tca: it crashes too.20:32
charlie-tcaintermittent?20:32
charlie-tcaTake a look through https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSyspendHibernateResume and see if there is anything else to be added to the report20:34
charlie-tcathen let me know and I will triage it20:35
njincharlie-tca: where i can found the description of SRU request ?20:35
njin.)20:36
timorosoapparently there's been some discussion regarding bug 65940520:36
ubot2Launchpad bug 659405 in xorg (Ubuntu) (and 1 other project) "Xorg crashes on suspend (affects: 1) (heat: 185)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/65940520:36
timorosoI am the one who reported it20:37
charlie-tcanjin: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure20:37
charlie-tcatimoroso: checking to make sure we have all the information we need to move the bug to triaged status20:38
timorosocharlie-tca: with the default Lucid kernel I get bug 54273120:39
ubot2Launchpad bug 542731 in fedora (and 1 other project) "[gm45] Xorg crash - Failed to submit batchbuffer: No space left on device (affects: 10) (heat: 65)" [Unknown,Unknown] https://launchpad.net/bugs/54273120:39
timorosocharlie-tca: both kernels make X crash but in different ways20:40
charlie-tcaSounds like an issue with the video driver instead of the kernel?20:40
timorosocharlie-tca: might be that as well20:41
timorosocharlie-tca: I only know that switching kernels produces different effects20:41
charlie-tcaIt matters, because if we don't get the package right, we don't really get it fixed20:41
timorosook, I see20:42
charlie-tcabut both kernels/all kernels are crashing xorg20:42
timorosoyeah20:42
joumetalit might be drm bug.20:43
drosenbecouldn't be the kernel, linux doesn't have any bugs20:46
drosenbe:p20:46
drosenbe(sorry, couldn't resist)20:46
micahgwell, starting with Lucid, part of the video processing now resides in the kernel for most video drivers20:47
micahgbut it's generally better to start at the highest level and move down20:47
timorosoI also want to point out that I did not get these crashes until a month or two ago20:48
timorosoalthough I've been running Lucid since February20:48
timorososo I would attribute this to some relatively recent change20:48
timorosomicahg: ok20:49
charlie-tcajoumetal: mark it confirmed if everything is there. comment on it that it is ready and let me know you are done?20:49
joumetalcharlie-tca: confirmed now.21:22
