Sir_Konradok so what can I do?00:59
Sir_KonradHello...01:33
charlie-tcaHello, Sir_Konrad01:47
charlie-tcaDid you have a question?01:47
Sir_Konradhey charlie-tca!01:47
Sir_Konradcharlie-tca, yeah, what can I do to help?01:47
charlie-tcaWhat did you want to help with? Do you have anything in particular in mind?01:47
Sir_Konradcharlie-tca, testing mostly.01:48
Sir_Konradcharlie-tca, and if needed, documentation.01:48
charlie-tcaGreat!01:48
Sir_Konradcharlie-tca, and *anything* that I can do to help with iPhone/iPod support. I part of saurik's army so yeah. :)01:49
charlie-tcaTesting is described in detail at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing01:49
charlie-tcaThe testing team mostly tests the images before release, and keeps in touch in #ubuntu-testing01:49
Sir_Konradcharlie-tca, so is there any alpha releases yet of 11.04?01:50
charlie-tcaI am not familiar with iPhone/iPod specifics, but perhaps the desktop team would know more in #ubuntu-desktop01:50
charlie-tcaNo alpha yet :-(01:50
charlie-tcathe Natty schedule is https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NattyReleaseSchedule01:51
charlie-tcaAlpha 1 is due on December 201:51
Sir_Konradcharlie-tca, so you think I should stay tuned and be ready to do lifting whenever I possibly can? :)01:51
Sir_KonradOh that's a month tomorrow!01:51
charlie-tcaMany of us have uipgraded to Natty already though01:51
Sir_KonradHow can you upgrade to Natty if it isn't released yet? O.O01:52
charlie-tcayes, it is always good to keep an eye/ear open. We are pretty good about asking when we need the help in various places.01:52
charlie-tcaManually change the /etc/apt/sources.list, changing maverick to natty on the repositories. then you can upgrade with aptitude or apt-get dist-upgrade01:53
charlie-tcaThen it breaks01:53
Sir_KonradLOL!01:53
charlie-tca:-)01:53
Sir_Konradcharlie-tca, so it's not even into Alpha yet! :D01:53
charlie-tcaright now we have the new kernel01:53
charlie-tcano, we just finished UDS on Friday to lay out the plans for it01:54
charlie-tcaOh, yeah. If you have an nvidia card, remove the hardware device driver before upgrading01:55
Sir_Konradcharlie-tca, Ok, I'm adding #ubuntu+1, #ubuntu-desktop, and #ubuntu-testing to my auto-join list. :)01:55
Sir_Konradcharlie-tca, I have some hardware I can put to good use (don't want to use my main machine). It has an Intel graphics card.01:55
Sir_KonradWill that work ok?01:55
charlie-tcayes, it would work good01:56
charlie-tcaMore information on getting involved and helping is available at http://www.ubuntulinux.org/community01:56
Sir_Konradok charlie-tca, thanks so much for the info! :D01:57
Sir_KonradI have to go now, but I'll be here tomorrow charlie-tca. See you later. :)01:58
charlie-tcaYou´re welcome. Good luck...01:58
Sir_Konradthanks charlie-tca. :)01:58

pietro10Is there a way I can upgrade from 10.10 beta to either 10.10 final or 11.04 beta?19:29
pietro10update-manager -d doesn't work19:29
Pici!final | pietro1019:32
ubottupietro10: If you installed a Alpha/Beta/RC version of Maverick Meerkat and have been keeping it up to date, then you are already running the latest version of Maverick. To make sure, type « sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade » in a console.19:32
pietro10ok cool, thanks19:33
