kiallAnyone here have EBS working correctly with 10.10? Im seeing an issue where the volume is failing to be hotplug'd into the instance .. I've tracked down the issue .. but want to find out if anyone else actually has it working before I go ahead and compile the NC from source ;)06:11

mhall119morning folks16:44
mhall119I've got a few questions about UEC16:45
RoAkSoAxmhall119: go ahead and shoot16:45
RoAkSoAxyou know the drill :)16:45
mhall119I'm going to be giving a presentation to my department manager about UEC tomorrow, and ways we can use it internally16:45
mhall119first off, what kind of web interface does UEC currently have?16:46
mhall119just the Eucalyptus one, or is there something in Landscape?16:46
RoAkSoAxmhall119: I think there's also something for landscape16:47
RoAkSoAxkim0:16:47
RoAkSoAxkim0: ^^16:47
mhall119specifically, we'd like the ability to let end users easily create new instances, bring them up, and most importantly bring them down on demand16:47
RoAkSoAxmhall119: that's usually done with euca-tools16:47
mhall119CLI?16:47
RoAkSoAxmhall119: i don't think that's done through the current web interface though16:47
RoAkSoAxmhall119: cli, correct16:48
mhall119ok16:48
mhall119second question, we'll want to limit how many instances an end user can have running at any given time, is that currently possible?16:48
mhall119each user having their own quota, which can be changed per-user by an admin16:48
mhall119I remember there being some discussion about these things at UDS16:49
RoAkSoAxmhall119: Idk, but don't really think so, becuaes there was a discussion about it at UDS16:49
mhall119also discussion about making a UEC-specific web interface16:49
RoAkSoAxindeed, I think those are lacking features in UEC16:50
mhall119if any UEC web interface is going to be developed as open source, Moffitt would be open to letting us contribute16:50
=== zul_ is now known as zul
mhall119if they decide to use UEC that is16:50
mhall119okay, last question, we'd want the ability for an end-user or developer to create an instance from a base image, add software and configure it, then save it as a new image16:51
mhall119I remember that Amazon has this feature now, is that going to be added to UEC?16:52
RoAkSoAxmathiaz: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEC/CreateYourImage16:53
RoAkSoAxups16:53
RoAkSoAxsry :)16:53

RoAkSoAxmhall119: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEC/Images16:53
mhall119hmmm, ok, cloud init would probably do what we need for that part16:55
mhall119thanks RoAkSoAx17:03
