andrewh192i am trying to add my google calender to my thunderbird00:37
andrewh192and running into trouble.. i accidently didn't use my full email address as my login00:38
andrewh192and so its not working, and when i try to edit the information for that calender, it only shows a little bit of information, none of which is the login information for my calender on google00:38
andrewh192where does thunderbird keep the login stuff for remote calenders...00:39
andrewh192i have tried deleting the calender and adding it again, but then it says i am already subscribed to the calender...00:39
andrewh192all this seems easy, but, finding it sorta hard..00:39

skierpageMy screen went blank and my computer stopped responding.  I finally powered off.  Now I've rebooted into my live USB.  What should I look for explaining what happened?02:24
skierpageI mounted my hard drive and so far nothing in var/log has a "OMG time to die!" trailing line.  I guess if it was a graphics lockup there wouldn't be anything in a log file.02:26
jmichaelxpoyntz: i am not sure what problem you are running into. what video adapter are you using?02:29
skierpagepoyntz, when I drag a KDE app to the corner and wait the window manager draws a line around the screen, and on release the app goes full-screen, but the second window button that looks like ^v lets me restore the window size, as does right-click on title bar and uncheck Maximize.02:31
skierpageRepeating... is there anything you can do after your machine required a power-off to figure out why it crashed?02:33
skierpageI guess the l33t h@x0rs leave a serial port continually spewing kernel output to another computer in case their PC crashes.02:35
skierpageOh well, reboot and cross fingers.02:40
poyntzjmichaelx: actually the problem is that the top border (what you grab to move windows), disappears when i do the full expand (aka, dragging the window to the top screen edge)02:41
poyntzjmichaelx: it happens with every program02:41
poyntzjmichaelx: the problem is that it can't be shrunk again02:42
jmichaelxpoyntz: i am not sure what problem you are running into. what video adapter are you using?02:48
skierpagepoyntz, might be something weird in your theming or in your Window behavior to make the title bar go away on maximize.  The latter is  System Settings > Window Behavior.  Try resetting.  Or maybe you can set some Window Behavior option so you can always get the window menu.02:48
skierpageOr maybe the top of the screen is off the top of your monitor ;-)02:49

Arrangood day everybody12:42

dansflorArran: did you run the text editor as a root?12:47
skfindrbobb: Are you using pop3 or imap?12:47
drbobbskfin: imap12:48
skfindrbobb: If you have lots of mails at server, it takes a while at first time12:48
drbobband yes there are a thousand or so items in my inbox12:48
Arrandansflor: If I check in may groups, I am in a groop called "bruno". So, probably not.12:48
drbobbbut evolution doesn't mind12:48
skfinIt basically syncs the local mail box with server's12:49
drbobbskfin: iiuc with imap it just gets the headers - that shouldn't take so long12:49
skfindrbobb: If you don't have like 1000 mails at server and it still takes long, I recommend to check settings12:49
ArranI use Kate for editing files12:49

sunny_sllsi was trying to install boost libraries for akonadi14:36
Riddellsunny_slls: what do you get for apt-cache policy libphonon-dev ?14:36

sunny_sllsRiddell, http://pastebin.com/ayFzFgET14:39
Riddellsunny_slls: hmm, dunno, something got confused somewhere (phonon headers are confusing, upstream keep moving them around)14:39
Riddellsunny_slls: I'm try   sudo rm -r /usr/include/qt4/phonon; sudo apt-get -f install14:40
RiddellI'd try..14:40

Riddellsunny_slls: so problem solved?14:45
Picii/2214:45
sunny_sllsoh14:45
sunny_slls!14:45
sunny_sllssorry14:45
sunny_sllsRiddell, acutally i was saying that i had installed phonon via trunk successfully14:46
Riddellsunny_slls: right, so that's what's clashing with the package files14:46
sunny_sllsso i need to clear the phonon from /usr/include/qt4/phonon14:47
sunny_sllsand build it again14:47
mdo-ollantaytambhola14:49

mdo-ollantaytambhola14:51
Riddellsunny_slls: if you're building your own phonon you shouldn't install it into /usr, it will get conflicted with the packaged version and you'll get these problems14:52
Riddellsunny_slls: so you should remove phonon from /usr/include/qt4/phonon, install the package (or remove it if you don't want it, but probably other things you do want depend on it) and any self compiled version put into /usr/local or /home/me/mycompiledstuff/14:52
sunny_sllsRiddell, i am building it from the trunk as given in http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started/Build/KDE4/Prerequisites#Phonon14:53
Riddellsunny_slls: install location there depends on what you have in QTDIR14:55
sunny_sllsok14:55
sunny_sllsbut QTDIR will be set according to qt installed14:58
sunny_sllsRiddell, if it is changed then how it will detect qt14:58
sunny_sllsRiddell, since qt4 is installed in /usr/share/qt414:58
mdo-ollantaytambEmail: wson_he@hotmail.com14:59
Riddellsunny_slls: it'll always look in /usr for qt, that's a known common location15:00
Riddellsunny_slls: so I'd go with   cmake .. -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/local -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=debugfull -DKDE4_BUILD_TESTS=TRUE15:00
sunny_sllsok15:00
sunny_sllslet me try it ouy15:00
