nivedwhen I start up my ubuntu 10.10, it says i'm missing the firmware for my broadcom wireless card and drops me into the command line. also, X won't start. This may or may not be related to my NVIDIA drivers. I'm totally lost at this point, can anyone help me?02:05
stlsaintnived: what type of card do you have?02:06
cprofittnived: the drop to command line is video related02:07
cprofittthe wireless card, is highly unlikely to cause that02:08
cprofittnived: can you do an lspci | grep VGA at the command line02:08
cprofittthat would tell us what video card you have02:08
nivedstlsaint: network controller broadcom corp bcm4306 802.11b/g wireless lan controller 14e4:432002:08
nivedcprofitt: nvidia geforce 620002:09
stlsaintaye i should have specified for graphics card, sorry02:09
cprofittnived did you get X at all after install?02:09
cprofittI am just curious if you tried to load the nvidia drivers or not02:09
nivedi odn't undertand your question02:09
cprofittimmediately after install -- were you dumped to the command line02:10
cprofittor did you get X?02:10
cprofittif you did not load the proprietary drives we can try installing them from the command line02:11
nivedi've spent the last day trying to get the nvidia drivers to work. this is not actually my computer, it's my friend's. i got ubuntu working for him last night. today he tried to install different nvidia drivers, drivers that i think were the wrong ones, and called me over to help him. i installed a different set of drivers that someone in #ubuntu said should work, and it made new xorg.conf files02:11
nivedi'm actually able to start x without a xorg.conf file02:11
nivedand yes, it was working last night after the install02:11
cprofittyes, I think the 6200 might need the older drivers02:12
nivedi installed the drivers by downloading them and bringing them over via usb02:12
cprofittthe 96 version should work for that card02:12
cprofittI have a 6800 on one of my computers... I can check the version I have running on that one02:13
nivedthe 96 version is the one i'mm using now02:13
cprofittthough I have 10.04 running on that machine, so that might not be a good fit02:13
nivedthe one i brought over via usb02:13
cprofittactually it looks like the 6200 should support -current02:13
nivedhere are the error messages found with dmesg | grep ERROR02:13
nived20:12] <nived> error: unable to locate IOAPIC for GSI 8 [20:12] <nived> repeats for GSI 13, 6, 4, 7, 12, 1, 10 [20:12] <nixnoob> fucked if I know what THAT means [20:13] <nived> and it can't find firmware files "b43/ucode5.fw" or "b43-open/ucode5.fw"02:13
cprofittcan you get his computer on a physical drop?02:14
nivedi don't know what you mean02:14
cprofittit would make it easier to install the drivers02:14
nivedi have his computer in front of me if that's what you're asking02:14
cprofittyes, but can you put it on the Internet02:14
nivedit's connected to the internet02:14
cprofittso you can use apt-get install nvidia-current02:14
nivedk, trying that02:14
cprofittsudo apt-get install nvidia-current02:14
cprofittok02:15
nivedsays nvidia-current is already the newest version02:15
cprofitthmm... so your -96 install did not work...02:15
nivedi brought them over on a usb drive02:16
nivedmounted the usb drive02:16
cprofittyes, but apparently the drivers are not the ones active02:16
nivedand used sudo sh for the NVIDIA-blah-blah-pkg0.run file02:16
nivedthen repeated for the pkg1.run file02:16
cprofitttry doing sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-9602:17
cprofittwhat errors do you get if you try startx02:18
nived[20:18] <nixnoob> um [20:18] <nixnoob> no... [20:18] <nixnoob> you don't want to use any of the .deb packages [20:18] <nixnoob> they haven't made any for these new .run files yet [20:18] <nived> why? [20:18] <nixnoob> they don't work [20:18] <nixnoob> not with the latest X server than 10.10 comes with by default02:19
cprofittthat is in your terminal?02:19
nivedno, no02:20
cprofittthat looks like another irc convo02:20
nivedyes02:20
cprofittso in terminal try02:20
cprofittstartx02:20
cprofittdoes x start or fail...02:20
cprofittif it fails what are the errors?02:20
nivedstartx says failed to load module nvidia because module does not exist, 0, and no drivers available02:20
nivedalso fatal server error: no screens found02:20
cprofittok... lets purge and reinstall then02:20
nivedalright02:21
nivedwhat are we purging?02:21
cprofittsudo apt-get --purge remov nvidia-current02:21
cprofittsudo apt-get --purge remove nvidia-current02:21
cprofittthat way it should not say that it is installed -- and any config files should be wiped02:21
niveddone02:21
nivednow what?02:21
cprofittif it were not for the config files I would just do a reinstall02:21
cprofittok... lets try rebooting and seeing if you get X again02:22
nivedi can try a reinstall02:22
nivedwhat's the command from the cli to reboot?02:22
nivedother than standing up, hopping over to the tower, and manually pressing the button?02:22
stlsaintnived: sudo reboot02:23
cprofittthanks stlsaint02:23
cprofitt+1 to sudo reboot02:23
stlsaint;)02:23
nivedsame errors02:24
nivedunable to locate IOAPIC for GIS 8, 13, 6, 4, 7, 12, 1, 1002:24
cprofittso it rebooted and fell apart, heh?02:25
nivedand can't find firmware files "b43/ucode5.fw" and "b43-open/ucode5.fw"02:25
nivedyep. dropped me back into the shel02:25
nivedl02:25
cprofittdoes he have any data on it yet?02:25
nivedwho?02:25
cprofittthe owner of the laptop02:25
niveduh02:25
nivedthe ubuntu is on the desktop02:25
nivedi'm on a windows laptop right now to be on IRC02:26
cprofittok... on the desktop is there any data on it yet or can you simply do a reinstall?02:26
nivedi can do a reinstall02:26
nivedalthough i had some issues during the initial install02:26
cprofittthere are times that finding the needle in the heystack is not worth the effort02:26
cprofitthaystack even02:27
nivedalright, booting up from the normal install disk02:27
nivedwe've also got the alternate one somewhere around here02:27
cprofittok02:28
cprofittThe poll caused issed for folks02:28
nivedpoll?02:28
cprofittthey actually checked Monday @ 2400 and not Tuesday @ 00:0002:28
cprofittthough they are the same time02:28
cprofittTuesday 00:00 has 6 of 902:29

cprofittand she is famous02:29
cprofitt7 of 9 was the best the poll did02:30
SPooNhey guys, I have a  question about Linux Mint actually. Does anyone know if Skype would work on Mint?02:32
nivedyes, spoon02:33
nivedit would work just fine, according to this forum: http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=50859102:33
SPooNthank you very much nived :)02:33
nivednp spoon02:33
nivedcprofitt: should i erase and use the entire disk or specify partitions manually? someone told me that I should manually use ext2 rather than ext402:34
cprofittext2?02:35
cprofittno, I would use ext402:35
cprofittI would just choose the entire disk02:35
Chesamowhy would someone tell you to use ext2?? They must be stuck in 199502:35
SPooNlinux mint is looking really good.02:36
SPooNI was born in 95 :P02:36
* Cheri703 feels really old02:36
Chesamo...02:36
* Chesamo also feels old.02:36
nivedchesamo: they said they were having problems with ext4 so reformatted to ext2 and had fewer problems02:36
* nived fools eld02:36
cprofittI don't fell old... I am old02:37
stlsaintSPooN: ?? crap i feel old also now02:37
aluexhi,everybody02:37
SPooNhaha sorry guys :P02:37
* stlsaint feels old a 23!02:37
cprofittno problem SPooN I work in a school district... I get a dialy dose of HCIAO02:38
cprofittHoly Crap I Am Old02:38
* SPooN feels like a youngling nerd02:38
* nived feels proud for figuring out that acronym before you said that02:38
aluexi love the screen saver MatrixView, and i would like to know where the pics it shows are?02:38
nivedfly, fledgling02:38
aluexthanks02:38
cprofittSPooN: no... youngling geek... though not that young02:38
cprofittmy youngest is 3 and using Ubuntu already02:38
SPooNthats awesome!02:39
cprofittshe was born in 200702:39
SPooNI'm the oldest of 3 and the only techie of the family02:39
cprofittall three of my kids have their own computers02:39
cprofittthe oldest is in First Lego League this year02:39
SPooNI installed skype and got a webcam for my grandfather, who lives in France, so that we could communicate. He hasn't opened the box of the webcam02:39
cprofittshe is 5th grade02:39
cprofittborn in 200002:39
SPooNyou, are an awesome parent02:40
* cprofitt shudders when he hears Skype02:40
cprofittno, not awesome... just a geek02:40
* SPooN wonders whats wrong with skype?02:40
cprofittit keeps a connection open on your computer and sends messages frequently02:40
* aluex wonders when to be heard ..02:41
cprofittit may be nice if you need to use it like a phone, but if you can schedule calls it would be better to use a not always on program02:41
SPooNwhich means what in 15yo language?02:41
SPooNI mean, you can just close the program02:41
nivedit's bad[/simple english]02:41

aluexcprofitt, i m sorry. i just want to know where the pictures the screen saver MatrixView displays are..02:43
* SPooN closes Skype02:43
nivedokay, cprofitt02:43
nivedi'm receiving this advice from someone else, tell me if you agree with it02:44
nived"reboot and get into a recovery mode, drop to root shell, telinit 3 if you need to, (you'll know if you go to install the .run binaries and they advise you to) and "sh nvidia-blah-blah-0.run" and then the other one, one after the other, and then reboot, and everything should be OK"02:44
cprofittnived: worth a try...02:45
cprofittif it doesn't work you can reinstall then02:45
nivedno, i mean02:46
nivedhe advises doing that after the reinstall02:46
cprofittI have not had a driver issue go that deep for me ... so unfamiliar with the advice02:46
cprofittwouldn't that depend on the reinstall having the errors?02:46
guest1newb here trying to learn bash shell and for some reason I cannot use relative paths in ubuntu02:46
guest1absolute paths traverse directories fine02:47
nivedwell i mean02:47
nivedif you're in /usr02:47
nivedtrying to go to /usr/bin02:47
nivedjust cd bin02:47
guest1it won't allow me to move from any directory unless I type the absolute path02:49
guest1so if pwd and Im in home/username and want to go to desktop I have to type the whole path to  go to desktop02:50
stlsaintguest1: or you could just use: cd Desktop02:50
cprofittno02:50
guest1 cd /home/username/desktop02:50
stlsaintwithout using: cd /home/stlsaint/Desktop02:50
nivedokay, so, guest1: when you're in /home/username, type cd Desktop and tell me what it returns02:51
cprofittin your home you would just have to type cd Desktop02:51
cprofittit is an upper case D02:51
UndiFineDo/02:51
cprofittand a quick way to get to home is cd ~02:51
nivedubuntu is case-sensitive, yeah02:51
niveddesktop, DESKTOP, and Desktop are different places02:51
guest1warren@Aspire-One:~$ pwd02:51
guest1/home/warren02:51
guest1warren@Aspire-One:~$ cd /desktop02:51
guest1bash: cd: /desktop: No such file or directory02:51
nivedokay02:51
nivednow type exactly what I tell you02:51
cprofittbash will also auto-complete if you hit 'tab'02:51
nived"cd Desktop" with no quotes02:51
nivedmake sure you don't do the slash and have an uppercase D02:52
nivedtell me what it returns02:52
guest1:-D02:52
niveddid it work?02:52
guest1no /?02:52
nivedno /, no02:52
guest1yes02:52
nivednot for relative02:52
nivedhttps://help.ubuntu.com/community/LinuxFilesystemTreeOverview02:52
nivedcheck out that link02:52
nivedit will explain how relative and absolute paths are handled in ubuntu02:53
guest1is this ubuntu specific?02:53
UndiFineDno linux specific02:53
UndiFineDor unix so to speak02:53
guest1ahhh02:53
guest1thats been killing me for an hour02:54
nived_i'm not familiar with any linux distros other than ubuntu02:54
nived_but ubuntu is based on debian and mint is based on ubuntu02:54
nived_so it should be that way in debian, ubuntu, and mint at least02:54
cprofittIt is that way in Fedora as well02:55
cprofittat least the last time I used it02:55
guest1I will remember it well now02:55
guest1the case of the directories threw me too02:55
* UndiFineD has work with almost any distro of linux, sun solarix, hp ux, aix02:57
UndiFineDall are case sensitive, because of posix standards02:58
guest1yeah unfortunatley Im breaking the windows habit argh02:59
UndiFineDonly microsoft, born out of unix posix standards too, chose to eliminate case sensitivity in old DOS / windows systems because of FAT(12) filesystem03:00
UndiFineDand had to do a hell of a job to reintroduce it again03:00
guest1I have to say ubuntu is very very easy to use...the bash shell on the other hand..not so much03:02
nhandlerguest1: Tab Completion is your friend ;)03:02
SPooNUbuntu's easy to use. I just wish flash would be preloaded03:02
UndiFineDSPooN, my bet is, that when Ubuntu Software Center is ready for Natty, the store will provide adobe softwares too03:04
nhandlerThey have adobe software, most is just in multiverse or the partner repositories.03:06
nhandlerAs for adobe flash, try flashplugin-installer03:06
trhisdonedoesn't flash require a licesnse which is why its not preloaded on anything03:06
nhandlertrhisdone: Yeah, licensing issues have played a big role in that.03:07
trhisdoneyeah its not installed by windows by default either....or firefox03:07
UndiFineDnhandler, I was talking of photoshop and the other commercial softwares they have03:07
trhisdoneyou always gotta download it03:07
nhandlerUndiFineD: Are those even available upstream for Linux?03:07
SPooNanyone know when Mint 10 is going to release?03:08
SPooNor am I stupid and it is out03:08
trhisdonewhy would adobe bother with photoshop for linux? you have gimp03:08
UndiFineDI think canonical does more talks on this with the major software vendors03:08
SPooNtrhisdone: for flash03:09
UndiFineDtrhisdone : one reason, compatibility03:09
trhisdonejust look at all the crap you gotta do just to play a dvd03:09
trhisdonethats enough to turn most newbies off right out the gate03:09
vu1kanI have an issue with the multimedia keys on my usb internet keyboard: whenever i reboot/power down, they stop working.  If i open the gnome keyboard shortcuts, it shows the various actions are defined correctly, i.e. volume mute is mapped to XF86AudoMute, but i get nothing if i press the key.  The only way i've been able to 'fix' this is to first clear the actions with backspace, then redefine the shortcut to the proper media key.  It only see03:09
UndiFineDcrap ? nothing difficult for playing a dvd on linux, ubuntu-restricted-extras will do the trick nicely03:10
trhisdoneim thinking of someone who knows nothing of computers03:10
UndiFineDtrhisdone, that is licencing issues03:11
UndiFineDbut USC makes that much eassier to do03:11
UndiFineDvu1kan, keyboard settings ....03:11
trhisdonewell i been playing dvds with vlc and kaffeine and they do not play as smooth as they do on power dvd in windows03:12
trhisdonei don't know what the problem is03:12
UndiFineDsystem -> preferences -> keyboard -> tab Layouts03:12
UndiFineDtrhisdone, caching ;)03:12
vu1kanUndiFineD: it's setup correctly in there; compaq internet keyboard(7 keys)03:13
trhisdonemaybe im just too used to windows03:13
UndiFineDvu1kan, during bootup and shutdown the system reverts to basic keyboard often US10103:14
vu1kaneven when it was set to that, the issue existed; that is, my volume buttons, ect, wouldn't function after a reboot unless i redefined them03:15
vu1kandespite the fact that the kb shortcuts showed the correct XF86 entry for the shortcuts03:16
UndiFineDso it forgets about the keyboard ?03:17
vu1kanit forgets about the XF86 keys03:17
vu1kanthe rest of the kb functions correctly, as do all of my other shortcuts03:18
trhisdonei only been using ubuntu for a couple of days and like it but some things were a pain in the butt to get working03:18
UndiFineDcprofitt, he ha set that permanent somehow ? i.e. .Xsession or something like that ?03:18
UndiFineDon the layouts tab, there is this button, to apply system -wide03:20
UndiFineDfor my dutch language I switch between USA and USA with deadkeys03:20
* SPooN lost all his music when failing at installing ubuntu03:27
cprofittSPooN: ouch03:28
UndiFineDaww03:29
cprofittsounds like backup failure03:29
cprofittI have my music on 4 different locations03:29
cprofitt3 digital and I own all the physical CDs03:29
SPooNlol I was trying to dualbot but since I'm a stupid 15yo I accidentally used the entire HD03:29
UndiFineDback-in-time does a good job for that for me03:29
SPooNwill RhythmBox allow you to sync from iPod to Ubuntu?03:30
UndiFineDguest1, http://tldp.org/LDP/abs/html/03:30
mxe5What would be the best app thats run on gnome desktop for making and .iso of a CD ? ?03:30

trhisdonebut thats my opinion03:37
UndiFineDtrhisdone, but ... we have the ubuntu font03:38
UndiFineDand it is free03:38
* JoeMaverickSett uses Ubuntu fonts. ;)03:38
trhisdoneyeah that looked pretty good to03:38
trhisdonethe default font was horrible03:38
UndiFineDI just need a replacement for my fixed type courier03:38

aveilleux....tar.lzma.tar?? Who would create such a monstrosity?13:54
aveilleuxharrisonk: If Archive Manager can't handle it, I believe you can untar, then unarchive lzma, then untar again.13:56

nevwhat do i do once i have unpacked a rar file to install drivers?18:20
nlsthzn...oh oh... what drivers from where?18:21
nevgetnet usb wireless adptr from getnet18:21
nlsthznhave a specific link so I can have a look?18:22
nevone sec..18:22
nevhttp://www.getnet.eu/products_GN-621U.html then linux drivers18:24
nlsthznnev: brb, going to check it out :)18:24
nlsthznok, this is going to attempt to build the drivers from source code (which you have now downloaded)18:26
nlsthznwhat I would suggest is to extract to a directory in your home folder, then open the readme file and have a look at installation method one..)18:27
nlsthznAFAIK it isn't ideal to do this in Ubuntu exactly as it is spelled out in the read-me but I am not that clued up (have not done it that many times)18:28
nevyep, done that ,i have no idea how to do any of it! :(18:28
nlsthznhave you searched the forum for a thread on this specific NIC or driver?18:29
nevno, whats a NIC ?18:29
nlsthznnetwork card, sorry18:30
nevok, understood.18:31
nlsthznhttp://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1374037&highlight=RTL8192SU this might help alot18:31
nevok, thanks, i will have a look. :)18:32

MohidevilzHola peeps. I've got an issue. When I was in a Lucid Live CD, I tried installing it. and Gparted shows /dev/sda alone. and it asked me to create new partition table. When I hit that, all previous data are lost. Am I supposed to install gpart and undo it?19:00
nlsthznMohidevilz: Hi, did you apply the changes? Did you see it actually create the new partitions etc?19:01
Mohidevilznlsthzn: It never asked me to change. But got the new partition table saved :|19:02
nlsthznMohidevilz: if the new changes has been commited then I am afrain you have a serious problem (if you haven't backed up)19:03
Mohidevilzargh!19:03
Mohidevilzlemme give a shot to gpart then =]19:04
nlsthznAFAIK there is no "magic" undo... but I hope I am wrong, however feel free to wait a bit, maybe somebody here will come up with the magic wand and help you out19:07

cprofittsee everyone later20:29
ibuclawharrisonk, git checkout URL dir20:35
harrisonkthanks20:35
MaddethHello all20:37
yofelactually, for git it would be 'git clone URL dir'20:38
yofelharrisonk: ^20:39
yofelcheckout does something different20:39
MaddethHey bodhizazen20:43
bodhizazen'lo all20:46
Maddethbodhizazen, I dont think it is fair that I still have voice as I am not here very often. If you are happy to leave me with voice, I am happy :) if not then remove it :)21:00
MaddethHi again Solovei21:18
SoloveiOh hi Maddeth :)21:19
Maddethare you looking for full docs covering unity? or just some advice21:19
MaddethSolovei, ^21:20
SoloveiEither one, actually. I'm having some confusion about files, as well...21:20
MaddethFire away, I will see what I can help with21:21
SoloveiWell, for instance - I installed 7zip so I can open .rar archives, but I can't seem to find it in order to use it...21:21
Maddethah I see21:22
Maddeththrough the repository?21:22
SoloveiYeah.21:23
Maddethif you right click what you want to unzip, you should get the option to extract it Solovei21:23
aveilleuxSolovei: the Archive Manager will pick up on most decompressors that are installed on the system. If you want to open rar files, just install unrar.21:24
Maddeth7zip should cover it just as well really21:24
SoloveiYeah, when I try to extract/open it says that the archive type isn't supported.21:25
Maddethin which case installing unrar would probably be the next best move as aveilleux suggested21:26
SoloveiOkay, I'll try that.21:26
Maddethif you sudo apt-get install rar21:27
aveilleuxMaddeth: 7zip is a separate archive program, you run it from the terminal21:27
aveilleuxMaddeth: sudo apt-get install unrar21:27
MaddethI though 7zip covered all archive packages as rar does21:28
Maddethaveilleux, I though unrar was in the "rar" package21:28
SoloveiIt does say it opens .rar on it's page...21:29
MaddethSolovei,21:30
Maddethnvm...21:30
Maddethjust typing out loud21:30
aveilleuxSolovei: It does open rar files. It just isn't picked up by Archive Manager. 7zip is a command-line program.21:31
SoloveiOh, okay. Thanks. I guess I must've misread.21:31
Maddethcould crete  link that executes 7zip <command> on zipped files21:32
Maddethcreate*21:33
Maddeth& a21:33
SoloveiAlso, this is a really stupid question but what exactly is the point of that Ubuntu button in the top left? Is that comparable to the start menu?21:33
SoloveiOr, er... a windows start menu, I should say.21:34
Maddethno idea, never ran a netbook flavour21:34
Maddethbut probably21:34
SoloveiHrm. I didn't think it would be that different.21:34
aveilleuxSolovei: It's a launcher button. It's used as a launcher shortcut menu. The Unity interface doesn't like menus that much.21:35
SoloveiYeah, I noticed. That's rather convenient though. Also, can you still use sticky notes with unity?21:36
aveilleuxSolovei: I dunno if the program is installed, but Tomboy is in the repos.21:37
SoloveiTomboy seems to be incapable of attaching individual notes to the desktop, though... Hang on, let me find the documentation.21:38
aveilleuxSolovei: That's because Unity doesn't use Nautilus' desktop.21:38
* aveilleux strongly dislikes Unity, to say the least.21:39
SoloveiThat seems a bit silly, to have an interface that doesn't really talk to the rest of the computer.21:39
aveilleuxYeah well... welcome to Canonical-made software.21:39
Solovei:P Thanks.21:40
SoloveiI'm guessing you can't really get rid of Unity, either?21:40
aveilleuxSolovei: You can install ubuntu-desktop and choose GNOME as the environment at login.21:41
SoloveiBut there's no way to get GNOME on the netbook version?21:42
aveilleuxI just told you how to do exactly that.21:43
aveilleuxThe only difference between the versions is what is preinstalled. All of the software is available21:43
SoloveiOh, okay.21:43
SoloveiThere was something else... Oh! I'm using an EEEpc and there used to be a button combo to turn the wireless on and off - I've looked in the keyboard shortcuts, but is there a way to replicate that?21:45
aveilleuxDoesn't Fn+F5 do it by default anyway?21:46
SoloveiIt's FN+F2 on mine.21:46
aveilleuxOh.21:47
aveilleuxI don't know the way to se that specific combination up, no.21:48
SoloveiHrm. I looked at some of the stuff concerning the Netbook Remixes and the fixes for those, but they seem to concern version 8 only...21:48
yofelhm, fn+f2 never really worked here, at some point it worked, then it started causing kernel panics, currently (2.6.37) it does nothing on my 1000H21:49
yofelusing rfkill works though21:49
Soloveiwhat's that?21:50
wolffuCan anyone point me to the instructions for creating a personal Ubuntu Wiki page?21:50
yofelSolovei: command line tool to control the wireless/bluetooth switches - list devices with 'sudo rfkill list' and use un/block to enable/disable them21:51
yofelwolffu: just open a page like 'wiki.ubuntu.com/YourName' and click on the link to create it21:51
* bodhizazen scrolls up21:51

wolffuyofel, thanks...It doesn't need to be linked to my launchpad profile?21:52
zkriesselolz21:52
* zkriesse perks up at wiki21:53
yofelwolffu: not really, you create all wiki pages like that initally, some do use their LP ID as the wiki url though21:53
yofelI used my real name21:53
wolffuyofel, thanks a lot. I appreciate the info.21:53
Maddethoff to bed... had a long week last week, catchng up on sleep :)21:53
SoloveiMaddeth, is there actually documentation on Unity or is it too new?21:54
MaddethSolovei, there should be, have a look on Youtube, there are bound to be some vids, and maybe a wiki or 221:54
MaddethSolovei, Sorry I couldnt be of more help, never had a notebook, and not currently using ubuntu21:55
SoloveiAlright, I'll see what I can come up with I guess. I feel kinda stupid because it seems like one of those things that's DEAD SIMPLE ... or is made to be, at least XD21:55
MaddethWell, off to bed now, good luck Solovei and I may be on tomorrow (working from home ftw)21:56
SoloveiThanks for your help, Maddeth!21:56
