formolQChey hey, how pratical is urbandictionary.com when english is not, for the reader, a native language00:12
Zinn[urbandictionary.com] Urban Dictionary, November 15: X-rayted00:12
mrandformolQC: it is not the most reliable place to find words or definitions, but it can be funny at times.00:32
formolQCmrand, I would say so indeed, but the definition make sense. do you know a better dictionnary for urban, slang and stuff like that ?00:33

ChaorainHey I'm having a problem, My tunner gets a picture just fine but no sound. Other files in Mythvideo get sound just fine. This tunner used to work before I reformatted, any ideas?07:35
Chaorainwell, I'm going to bed but I'll leave this open07:46
CRU_Hey, wondered if someone could help me. I just set up my first mythtv box but I am having trouble playing any online video (flash, etc)...they are all really choppy.  I know it's not my internet connection speed (download it first, also works fine on all my other windows computers).  tv tuner vid works great, but everything else is choppy.  What should I do?08:11
ReK_flash can be choppy. do you get the same thing with an html5 vid?08:24
ReK_also make sure you have teh adobe flash, not the open source one08:24
CRU_ReK:  where is a website with an html5 vid?08:26
ReK_youtube08:33
CRU_ReK: Youtube does the same choppiness08:37
ReK_with an html5 version?08:42
ReK_itll say html5 in the control bar next to the fullscreen button08:42
CRU_ReK: Thanks for trying to help...I think I'm gonna go to bed (getting late) and figure it out later perhaps =)08:46

jh15_greetings. I am stuck during an install off 10.10 amd64 livecd. During test, it says 'could not find database login credentials'. I have the same pin in the backend.19:40
jh15_This is during the 'test connection' window on the livecd install. when I hit forward, after never getting credential test, machine locked up. Just did hard reset. also I chose not to install nvidea drivers yet.19:49
jh15_re-starting livecd install of frontend...19:50
jh15Hello, is master backend pin (default000), i changed to xxxx, the same thing as what the frontend wants? it says database code, that it generated during install.20:26
tgm4883Azelphur, ping20:40
Azelphurtgm4883: pong20:41
tgm4883did you find the metadata scripts?20:41
Azelphurnope20:41
tgm4883did you look in mythtv-backend?20:41
Azelphurapt-find says it's in mythvideo though20:42
Azelphuralso I don't want mythtv-backend20:42
Azelphurapt-file, I mean20:43
rhpot1991ummmm20:44
tgm4883Azelphur, what is the path it says it is at?20:44
rhpot1991whats the point of the script without the backend?20:45
rhpot1991you gots nowhere to store the data you are looking up then20:45
Azelphurmythvideo: /usr/share/mythtv/mythvideo/scripts/Television/ttvdb.py20:45
Azelphurrhpot1991: this is a frontend, my backend is on a different computer20:45
tgm4883Azelphur, this is 0.24?20:45
Azelphuryes20:45
rhpot1991Azelphur: so install mythvideo on both?20:45
rhpot1991and let the backend do the lookups20:45
Azelphurmythvideo is installed on both20:45
Azelphurthe backend doesn't do lookups, the frontend does20:45
Azelphur(according to iamlindoro in #mythtv-users)20:46
tgm4883rhpot1991, Azelphur tis' in the wrong spot20:46
Azelphur?20:46
rhpot1991/usr/share/mythtv/metadata/Television/ttvdb.py20:46
rhpot1991is where it should be at in 0.2420:46
Azelphurah20:46
Azelphurso the package is broken20:46
tgm4883thats a packaging issue20:46
tgm4883let me verify20:46
Azelphurfunny part is it's not in /usr/share/mythtv/mythvideo/scripts/Television/ttvdb.py either20:47
tgm4883rhpot1991, you on 0.24 yet?20:47
rhpot1991tgm4883: yes20:47
tgm4883rhpot1991, can you verify it's in the wrong spot?20:47
rhpot1991tgm4883: thats the spot its in on my computer20:47
tgm4883which spot?20:48
rhpot1991/usr/share/mythtv/metadata/Television/ttvdb.py20:48
tgm4883rhpot1991, hmm, what revision are you on?20:48
Azelphurthat's the right place20:48
tgm4883rhpot1991, and what package is that in?20:48
rhpot1991ii  mythtv-backend                       1:0.24.0+fixes27204-0ubuntu0+mythbuntu220:49
rhpot1991whats the easiest way to figure out which package it came from?20:49
Azelphurthat shouldn't be in mythtv-backend20:49
Azelphurit's part of the frontend20:49
tgm4883ok20:49
tgm4883that should be in -common20:49
Azelphurhehe20:50
tgm4883rhpot1991, apt-file?20:50
tgm4883IDK myself20:50
tgm4883rhpot1991, nm, i see it in backend20:50

rhpot1991mythtv-backend: /usr/share/mythtv/metadata/Television/ttvdb.py20:51
rhpot1991confirmed20:51
rhpot1991tgm4883: moving that all to common then?20:52
tgm4883rhpot1991, yep20:52
jh15_hello, I'm trying to connect my frontend to a master backend...21:13
rhpot1991jh15: did you configure the backend to accept connection from an external computer?21:14
jh15_I followed the backend only install off the livecd21:14
jh15_and i set a pin code21:15
rhpot1991jh15: launch MCC, enable the mysql service21:16
rhpot1991then make sure your backend IP isn't localhost21:16
jh15_ok, will do...21:16
tgm4883rhpot1991, isn't it the mythtv service?21:16
jh15_why doesn't it do it at boot in the first place?21:17
jh15_brb, have to run to the backend room...21:17
rhpot1991tgm4883: mysql I thought21:17
tgm4883jh15, because you are allowing remote connections to access mysql21:17
tgm4883rhpot1991, I think it's mythtv21:17
rhpot1991so your mysql takes outside connections21:17
tgm4883right21:17
rhpot1991tgm4883: pretty sure its on the mysql tab21:18
tgm4883no, I think its on the services tab21:18
rhpot1991tgm4883: I see it on mysql21:19
rhpot1991unless I have something outdated21:19
* tgm4883 shrugs21:19
tgm4883i don't see it on either21:19
rhpot1991mysql service on ethernet interface21:19
rhpot1991required for remote frontend or backend21:20
* rhpot1991 wins21:20
jh15_1Ok, I put xchat on BE.  I get "my sql plugin is fully filled out" when poking around mcc21:33
jh15_1I also changed 127.0.1 to my net address 192.168.1.11821:34
jh15_1oops21:34
jh15_1mysql plugin is NOT21:34
jh15_1i even get that trying to enable logging21:35
jh15rhpot1991: at the backend mcc, i get'mysql plugin is not fully filled out', when I try to change things.21:48
rhpot1991jh15: never seen that, seems like you are missing some data it needs21:50
jh15even when I go to enable logging I get that.21:50
jh15install disk self tested ok.. hmnn21:51
jh15I mean I had good burn21:51
jh15Should I reinstall? I have it on a new drive, with no otherf partitions.21:52
rhpot1991if you don't have the msyql service enabled then a remote frontend cannot talk to your backend21:52
rhpot1991jh15: to be clear you were in mythbuntu-control-centre when you saw that, correct?21:52
jh15but I can;t seem to get at sql controls on the BE.21:53
jh15yes21:53
rhpot1991you should be able to skip that part in the install and deal with it later if you want21:53
rhpot1991thats how I do it since I don't use the pin, but thats your call21:54
jh15I will reinstall both boxes and leave pin at 0000. I'm not sure what I changed from defaults by now.21:55
jh15btw, running one box as fe/be, myth was ok.21:55
jh15I have to cook spagetti now, so will start re-install on both...21:56
rhpot1991jh15: reinstall is unnecessary21:58
rhpot1991you need to enable the mysql service and make sure the backend ip is something public21:58
rhpot1991which is why your remote frontend cannot connect, but your local can21:58
jh15I'm re-installing anyway. Need to take notes of changes from defaults. I am setting up one dedicated backend master, and one frontend for now. Both plugged into same router. Using laptoip, and both boxes for chat.22:07
rmklCan anyone assist with configuration of a Hauppauge pvr-350 under 10.10? I keep getting no channels found when scanning. Thanks22:44
jh15darn, I forgot it refuses to install a bootloader on the backend install.23:26

jh15any luck?23:28
rmklno i am at a stopping point.....23:28
jh15You've done the obvious like make sure it is set to b'cast, cable, etc?23:29
rmklone thing i am trying to find out about is why the pvr350 no longer shows up under the card type23:29
jh15oh, that will do it.23:30
rmklyeah i am pretty familiar with the setup and configuration...i have been running it for a couple of years now23:30
jh15ok23:30
jh15so maybe the machine coughed up the card.23:30
rmkli am making quite a distro leap from my current stable mythtv configuartion under 8.10 to the current 10.1023:31
jh15I spent years trying to workaround my PCHDTV hd-3000 cards, finally gave up and got a HDhomerun.23:31
jh15seemed like your card did ok with most myth people.23:33
rmklunder my current setup when i setup the card i have a specific choice for the hauppauge card and it works perfectly23:33
rmklunder 10.10 and the newer mythtv setup that choice is gone....adn i have not been able to find any discussion about that23:34
rmkli currently have it set as the ivtv mpeg2 which is really the only other choice that makes any sense23:34
rmklit just keeps coming up goose eggs when scanning for channels23:35
rmklwhat i really need to find is someone who is successfully running that old card under 10.10 as i am trying to23:36
rmklin the meantime i am happy i have a backup image of the mythtv machine from which i have successfully restored the system  a number of times...thank god for G4L!23:38
